Was nice meeting you @doomfreak777 hope you enjoyed the sounds. Has it made up your mind?

2.4 bar all round for me.

Welcome. Very nice for a first car, I'm sure you'll love driving it. Can only add to opinion that a non-res cat back is going to be very loud if you go down the catless manifold route, which many of us have done.

For road use, 0W-20 is what I use for topping up. Not that it uses much. I add Archoil AR9400 after every oil change. Fuels vary, I don't use 95 RON. She'll V-Power 98 feels the best, BP Ultimate 97 also feels good. Supermarket super-unleaded fuel causes hesitation in pickup and is just as you would expect for much lower prices. I avoid it. I also add Archoil AR6900-P to every tank.

I have the MTEC springs and 3 to 2 is fine. Far more notchy is 5 to 4 which takes some careful guidance. Sent from my LG-Q6 using Tapatalk

No, mine are 17 x 8 with ET35 so you're in the right ball park.

I've thought about the TD turbo kit on and off. To be honest, though, every time I think I may not have enough power I drive it some more and realise I do have plenty for all my normal driving. I have the full NA kit, TD exhaust and ECUTeK tune.
-
I have the TD full super-resonated exhaust and UEL manifold. I also live just outside Basingstoke. PM me if you would like to pop over and I'll take you for a drive so that you can hear it first hand. Much better than a YouTube video.

You're probably done with naturally aspirated short of boring the engine for extra capacity. It's a turbo or supercharger next! Sent from my LG-Q6 using Tapatalk

SOLD!

TD resonated mid-pipe, only 4 days old. Was a little too loud for me but will suit anyone with an unresonated system to help take the edge off. £160 collection from Basingstoke or Ascot (where I work), or £10 to ship in the UK. Will accept PayPal or bank transfer.

Very decent wheels and tyres for that price. Don't discount going for springs, they're cheaper but not lower quality if you know what you want. It just entails keeping the stock dampers which works for me as it's my daily and I need decent ride quality. If you're not going to track (I don't) then consider them as money is tight. I have H&R Super Sports.

Ford Escort Mk.II. Wheezy 1.1l engine, cart springs. Thoroughly horrible. There was a pause when pressing any pedal before a response was forthcoming, and that was just a token gesture. Sent from my LG-Q6 using Tapatalk

Buying the TD NA kit including the remap will yield most of what power can be had without going turbo. I'd recommend it. Sent from my LG-Q6 using Tapatalk

Some help and advice please, winter tyres/alloys
MartinT replied to Nelix's topic in GT86/BRZ General Chat
It's the time of year to think about winter driving again. My BRZ is my daily so it HAS to do better than last year in the snow (I got well and truly stuck in our single track lane in the snow with simply zero grip). I have gone against accepted wisdom here (the Michelin Cross Climates) and plumped for a set of Goodyear Vector 4Seasons Gen-2, which get a very high rating for snow and wet conditions. All seasons because I need to pound the motorway 30 miles each way to get to work. I'm putting them on my stock wheels which I had put aside for this purpose. The narrower 215 size should help with snow grip, too. I'll report back with my findings once I've swapped to them. What preparations are others making? -
Speak now or it's in the skip by Friday. Sent from my LG-Q6 using Tapatalk

V-Power 99? That's Super-Duper unleaded! Sent from my LG-Q6 using Tapatalk

Losing the torque dip is exactly what you need, forget absolute power which you hardly ever use in normal driving. I can assure you that a UEL manifold and remap will bring you exactly the midrange flexibility that you need for everyday driving. And, as expressed elsewhere, lose them on the curves!
-
Thanks, that's good to know. Mine are on my stock wheels which I shall soon have shod with winter tyres. I'll leave them like that and just put those wheels on the car when I finally need an MOT test. Sent from my LG-Q6 using Tapatalk

Are they really programmed to each wheel position? How would tyre rotation work? Sent from my LG-Q6 using Tapatalk

£100 or it goes in the skip. Final chance.

Will, I have a TD with super resonator. I believe the Cobra is considerably louder. Sent from my LG-Q6 using Tapatalk

For 8" wheels you'll need an ET of 35 or so.

Important to check the ET too, otherwise the fitment may not look good. Sent from my LG-Q6 using Tapatalk
