Hi All I currently have a Honda CR-Z with Sprintex supercharger, which is a great car that I've really enjoyed owning and working on. I recently had it tuned to 190bhp, not bad for a 1.5l hybrid that still gives me 43mpg. My payments finish next year and I'm planning on buying a BRZ as my next car. I've joined this forum to start learning what's best to look for in a young used model and how to yield a little more power than standard. Cheers Martin

The BRZ is just outside but it's too dark now. My prized Longines Conquest VHP, never taken off.

I've just installed my Carchet tyre pressure warning system on the BRZ, setting them all to 2.4 bar with a warning at 2.0 bar. Sent from my LG-Q6 using Tapatalk

I'm not sure if this is well known but I got fed up with the keyless fob only opening the driver's door. I researched it and found out how to make door entry unlock both doors. Sit inside the car, engine off. Press and hold both the unlock and Subaru logo buttons on the fob for at least 10 seconds. You will get a single beep. Driver's door entry will now unlock the passenger door, too.

Thanks, all. If I go for the 20mm spacers (which I know Tuning Developments supply and I'm going there on Friday), can I expect the handling to be largely similar? I wouldn't expect it to be a problem, but just asking.

I had a BMW 335d M-Sport Coupe and fast but anodyne sums it up. Way too heavy to throw around, it would fishtail in 3rd in the wet, eat its (expensive) tyres for lunch and be in the hedges if I tried to do what the BRZ does so effortlessly.

Yes, 2017 ex dealer demo.

It was really nice to put my personal plates back on this morning. Now the BRZ truly feels mine!

I've got a white one. It's my first white car and I'm pleased with the way it looks.

Congrats, I just picked up my BRZ on Tuesday so that's two new members to the 'club'! I agree that it's not underpowered and it has a good deal of go when pushed. I'm still going to get some more tuning goodness for mine next week, though. The gearbox is quite notchy, I'm used to the butter-smooth Honda I had previously. 2nd doesn't seem any worse than the others but as has been said it gets better once warmed up. Cruise control, mine works fine. Boot needs a slam - yes! Head unit, I think I must have a different one as the volume knob is fine. I use the steering wheel volume buttons most of the time. Looks great in yellow!

May I ask what wheels they are, size, ET etc? Sent from my LG-M700 using Tapatalk

Welcome from another newbie! Just got my (1st) BRZ. I think the stripes look fine and should look good on that colour.

It's been fun reading these comments. My previous Honda CR-Z attracted a lot of attention, especially when I drove it to France. The supercharger whistle used to turn heads. They're pretty rare and the questions usually started with "some kind of Civic...?" I've only had the BRZ for two days but I can tell I'm getting looks. At work there are three of us with white sports cars, the other two are a new MX-5 and my partner's Audi TTS. We're conspiring to park them next to each other and make jokes about "white cars only"

My first impressions: the BRZ is a grown up sports car. The handling in today's damp conditions was precise and I got the feeling that balancing it in the damp conditions was very controllable. No tail out silliness, just very easy to feel when traction is at its limit. The way it rides (surprisingly comfortable) and holds the road is impressive. Steering is well weighted and the gearbox not as notchy as I'd expected. The big revelation is the engine: what a cracker! Nowhere near as gutless as some people were claiming, it revs superbly well and makes a fantastic noise. Overall, it's much quieter than my CR-Z was (with its supercharger and resonated cat-deleted exhaust) which I appreciated today on the A303. If this is how it is now, what's it going to be like when I get the TD NA package? Very, very impressed with my first drive and looking forward to my 30 mile commute to work tomorrow. Going to park it next to my colleague's new white MX-5

...and here it is having just enjoyed a three hour drive back from Plymouth.

Yep, done it before - springs, camber bolts and alignment are a job worth getting done professionally.

I lowered my current car by 25mm and kept the stock shocks on good advice. They're Eibach Pro-Kit progressive springs and give an excellent ride while firming up the suspension considerably on corners. I understand that H&R springs are equally as good. I'm not at all sold on cheap coilovers.

I'm also interested in views as I've been looking at the exact same size: 18 x 8 wheels with 225/40 Yokos (Advan Sport V105S). ET40 looks ideal but I haven't been able to measure whether a poke of 61.6mm is ok. Speedo error would be 1.87% which is fine. I'm going with H&R lowering springs to retain a good ride (it'll be my daily driver) while suiting the wheels.

I'm going down to Plymouth to look at a BRZ tomorrow. 2017 facelift white with only 3100 miles on the clock.

Ok, the CR-Z is up for sale and I'm transferring my personal plate off it. I've priced it keenly so hopefully it'll move fast. Meanwhile I'm looking at what white facelift BRZs are for sale on Autotrader and there are two manuals. I'm probably going to take a trip to see one next week. Exciting!

That's good to know. Blue and Black would also be possibilities for me.
-
I've been looking at photos to get an idea of what colour best suits the shape and it looks like white may be for me. My partner has a white Audi TTS so they'd look good together!
-
Good luck with it, I'll be following you soon with my own purchase. I work in Ascot, close to you. What colour?
-
Thanks, all! Yes, looking at a facelift BRZ demo car with low mileage. I surprise myself by rather liking it in white, I think it accentuates the swooping coupe shape. I've already dropped Mike a PM on possibly booking him for March or so. Thanks, Kevin, you're very close and I'll keep that in mind.

It's been a while but I'm getting close to making a decision on a nearly new BRZ. Just letting you all know that I haven't gone away!
