What tyre size should I go for?

I run 235 18s on 8.75 wheels. The balance of grip and handling is really good and I can still get very playful with the supercharger. My traction control light comes on a bit. Sent from my Oppo X3 using Tapatalk

    Coilover question

I know the A30 well, living in Basingstoke. I've had no problem with bottoming even though I'm lowered. Sent from my Oppo X3 using Tapatalk

It's not as if I'm slow, I often give it the beans but not all the time! Sent from my Oppo X3 using Tapatalk

If I drove to reach that level of economy I would lose my licence very quickly. I need my job!

    Anyone heard of these??

Very good answer. I would add to that that you would usually get a tune to go with any decat manifold (you have to, to avoid the lack of O2 sensor causing check engine). A really well-developed map will give you a much cleaner burn than the manufacturer's stock tune, which has to account for lack of servicing, poor fuel and oil, different weather etc. I say this with confidence as my fuel economy with a supercharger and good ECUTeK tune is better than it was in stock form.

I guess I'm settling into the groove of my 40-mile commute down the M3 and trying to 'make progress' without driving like a moron. My mileage has just reached a new peak of 32.5mpg. Not bad with a Harrop on board.

Yes, exactly that. People who also think that power is the only important number and then tell me that some uninspiring hatch-box is better because it has more power. If I wanted a hatch-box I could leave my appreciation of beauty behind and buy any one of 30 different models most of which look the same. There is only one 86/BRZ and we know why we drive them.

    GR86 or turbo gt86

I have none, as I haven't driven a GR86. A 2.4l NA is quite an attractive idea, but until I can get behind the wheel I couldn't tell you.

    GR86 or turbo gt86

Well Ok, I'm just saying that a charger needs consideration and is a very different way of boosting than a turbo, and drives differently.

    GR86 or turbo gt86

    Neither. A supercharger.
  15. I can see when I'm boosting with my Scangauge. Cruising on the motorway is off boost. Overtaking usually gets positive boost showing, especially if I just hoof it in 6th to get past tiresome lane hoggers when it shows 0.4bar and pulls well. Mostly, it's off boost and the economy is good. Sent from my Oppo X3 using Tapatalk
  16. As for economy, I get 32.1mpg on mostly motorway commute. That's pretty respectable. Sent from my Oppo X3 using Tapatalk
  17. Indeed, it's the lag I don't like. The charger gives a nice surge when you're in the power band, but it's progressive. Sent from my Oppo X3 using Tapatalk
  18. Answering that question for me, I've had a supercharger before (Sprintex on Honda CR-Z) so I knew what to expect. I like the big engine feel with a good slug of torque across the rev range. I like the predictability, especially in the wet. I like the instant response and I strongly dislike turbo lag. Sent from my Oppo X3 using Tapatalk
  19. Interesting as I'm running 1st cat delete with stock 2nd cat. The Harrop is a nice bit of kit, isn't it?
  20. The only failure has been the clutch, but it did last a year after the supercharger had been installed. I've had an Exedy stage 1 clutch installed and that has been perfect.
  21. I agree, but when I went to Abbey and spoke to Mark, it was torque that I wanted and discussed with him. Power then became a by-product of the conversation. Sent from my Oppo X3 using Tapatalk
  22. 18 months so far. It's my daily commuter so I'm putting 80 miles a day on it. I don't drive it gently but I'm not an idiot either.
  23. 284nm peak but fairly flat torque curve. Rogue Motorsport EL manifold, Harrop supercharger.
  24. I have no interest in power. Torque is real-world driveability and the only parameter that matters to me. Sent from my Oppo X3 using Tapatalk
