Decals for the middle traction control button
MartinT replied to Lordyboi's topic in GT86/BRZ General Chat
Yes, I have the eject decal already. Haven't yet told my partner about it... Sent from my CPH2145 using Tapatalk -
You're better off taking it to a tuner with a friendly MOT station. I have no problems with single cat and emissions. Sent from my LM-G710 using Tapatalk

@ThatGuyThere you got your answer from the above. What more do you expect? Have you asked HKS directly? Did you get more information from them?

Just arrived, four Delicious Tuning OEM+ coilpacks ready for my 60k service coming soon.

The TD with super-resonator has no drone. I daily commute 80 miles so trust me when I say I could not live with drone. The standard resonator is too loud, though.

I'm not going to get into the debate of the relative worth of both superchargers except to make the obvious point that the Harrop is available (albeit with supply shortages) and the Cosworth is no longer available. My observation of having lived with the Harrop for a year is that it is so OEM-like as to have become a part of the engine. This is in terms of the look, the integration and, most importantly, how it drives. It appears to be virtually maintenance-free although I will always have Abbey take care of it as and when needed. My respect for it has gone up the more I have learned to drive and enjoy the BRZ with it fitted and with appropriate grip in terms of suspension and wheels/tyres. It really is a pleasure to have lightning-fast responses (unlike any turbo I have ever driven) and torque where you most need it. I have no regrets and, together with the Rogue EL manifold, it gives me great performance within the safe cylinder pressure limits that Mark has applied.

Is anyone forced induction and still passing emissions tests legitimately?
MartinT replied to Jay Bamrah's topic in GT86/BRZ General Chat
As stated above, I have the Harrop supercharger and Rogue Motorsport EL manifold, pulling about 300bhp. That means I only have the 2nd cat in place. The O/P asked about passing emissions legitimately, which I have done. You just need to get the cat nice and hot before the test. As for legal - well, they don't look too closely and may not remove the underfloor panel to check. -
TD super-res is a good middle loudness exhaust system. I run it and it's not quiet! You can have it installed at Abbey Motorsport. They can obtain TD parts.

Welcome to the forum and the car!

When you change the brake pads, make sure that brake grease is lightly smeared on the rear and end slides of both pads.
-
That's very helpful, cheers both. The bhp calculation, as you know, is an estimate based on whp. Mark suggested I was around 300bhp. He has put a safe limit on the map, looking carefully at peak cylinder pressure. When I have the 60k service done, I'll talk to Scott and Mark about an uprated fuel pump and replacement filter.

2017+ Toyota GT86 Spoiler risers
MartinT replied to Andy Gside's topic in Wanted GT86 / BRZ Cars and Parts
I have the Perrins. They work well, still subtle but make a difference. Bought on eBay from the US. -
Hmm, you've got me thinking about swapping the fuel pump for a higher flow one. Any recommendations?
-
I too will be interested. I sense that sparks are weak on pickup from low revs but I won't know for sure until it's done. Abbey don't fit Denso plugs, I think they might be NGK but not certain. Fuel pump is standard but that may change. Sent from my LM-G710 using Tapatalk

I've got my 60k service coming up soon so I've ordered a set of Delicious Tuning Blue OEM+ coilpacks for when the plugs are changed. Thought it worth having done at the same time as I'd like the best spark possible for pickup and response with the Harrop. Delicious OEM+ (4) Coil Packs - MY15+ (Blue) | Delicious Tuning Abbey will be doing the work as usual.

I have the shifter springs and they definitely help shift quality. Sent from my LM-G710 using Tapatalk -
Notchy/Slightly rough 2nd -> 3rd shift when warm

Strange, it's the other way round for me. 3>2 is the worst change and baulks sometimes, all others are fine. -
I've followed @SimonG68 in my supercharged BRZ with his auto 86 in sport mode. I can tell you he doesn't hang around. I had to be on it in the right gear all the time, and could pass him on a straight, but the auto also looks like a bundle of fun. Choose whichever you prefer.

2012 WR Blue BRZ for sale - 69,000 miles - £11,250
MartinT replied to willgrubb's topic in For Sale GT86 / BRZ Cars
You seem to have posted this ad four times. I'll leave this one as it's the latest and has a price and will remove the others. -
You can even do it while driving, as long as you're not in cruise control. In my case, I'm careful not to move it to '4' as it's an immobiliser setting!

Tuning development NA kit, should I also get super res catback?
MartinT replied to Jay Bamrah's topic in GT86/BRZ General Chat
Hah - my supercharger makes it louder. Difference between turbo and 'charger. -
Tuning development NA kit, should I also get super res catback?
MartinT replied to Jay Bamrah's topic in GT86/BRZ General Chat
The TD NA kit removes the first cat from the manifold. It's already louder than a stock car. -
I was quoting Car and Driver... Also, I didn't say FI was impossible, I said it was problematic.
