  1. The London International Auto Show 2019 August 11, 2019 Haywards Heath, RH17 6TL Can be an interesting option for a club event in August. Check out the details https://londoncartel.org/index.php/the-show/ Who would be interested in attending? If we have enough interest will aim to organize a club stand and put it in the calendar as "official" club event. Let me know

    Rear Caliper Options

I had KSports for 1.5yrs, 9k miles, 10+ track days. No problems at all. Standard AP caliper size pads, on my 3rd set now (EBC reasonably cheap). I understand older version calipers were prone to have issues, but happy with current ones. Sent from my SM-G973F using Tapatalk

    GT86Curn's Facelift build

I would expect so. My is EL, but I have plenty of headroom at Bedford. This week at Bedford it was 85db at 5.5k rev (which I though was a bit higher than usual 80-82db). Below link is my car Sent from my SM-G973F using Tapatalk

  10. Any local recommendations? I may splash out on staying at PitStop at Bishops Storford, Wild Hart was suggested as a place that can accommodate few of us https://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Restaurant_Review-g609066-d1469102-Reviews-WildHart_Restaurant-Bishops_Stortford_Hertfordshire_England.html
  11. Very good - looking forward to it. Would be you, Lionel ( @LGE) and me. I will probably be doing Bedford the day before and will aim to stay close by. Lionel will be staying overnight as well so we would be planning to grab a meal in the evening. Will find suitable place and may be others would like to join as well. Are you travelling on the day?

    Go pro help

I have Racechrono pro on Android I know HLT works fine on both, its also good for multiple cameras (you can use both mobile camera and external one, or multiple external), not tried Racechrono with multiple cameras though. Sent from my SM-G973F using Tapatalk

    Schroth Rallye 3 ASM harness

It doesn't, i use blanks rather than disconnecting the seat bell warning sound, easy enough. Note that while these belts (and stock seats) are not designed to be compatible with HANS, you can use Simpson Hybrid device, and it fits quite a lit better than standard 3 point belt. Hope to never find how good it is though... Sent from my SM-G973F using Tapatalk

    Go pro help

I use GoPro with Racechrono Pro for track days. Its pretty simple and intuitive. Pair GoPro via WiFi with mobile and the app will find it in "Settings". There you can also set/ change other things. Dont use GoPro app when starting sessions, use Racechrono and it will be easy for load/ copy video into the app and then export it. See example video below Another good app is Harrys Lap Timer, although I find Racechrono more user friendly (and certainly easier to copy files) and I like map with speed and acceleration data to see where I lose time/ not consistent/ etc. I have GoPro5, which is good enough for me (got it second hand as well). I also used it to record rafting, mountain biking, skiing ... GoPro7 looks like a decent improvement, but for what I use it 5 is more than good enough. Couple tips/ suggestions: - get good camera mount. I use Hague, which is a bit pricey and you can make similar DIY. You will have too much vibration with mounting on top of dashboard (although 7 may be better). Dont use suction cap, even with tethering (not worth the risk imo); - 128gb card, not 64 - once you start in FullHD (dont bother with 4K), 64gb is not enough for a track day. Select high speed one. 50fps. - get extra battery (you will forget to switch the camera off occasionally, so extra is very handy). There are cheaper action cameras, but overall I am pretty happy with GoPro and its quite versatile to use in a range of sports. Sent from my SM-G973F using Tapatalk

    Schroth Rallye 3 ASM harness

I think you would want to bolt it to the body of the car, not just to the bracket. Instruction says you can bend it, but you wouldn't want to do it multiple times. Sent from my SM-G973F using Tapatalk

Autobox cooler. Thats what I've got when opting for TD turbo kit. I have only 0.3 bars boost and know that autobox will be my main limiting factor if I decide to go higher. Sent from my SM-G973F using Tapatalk
  17. Track Day - Brands Hatch Indy Tuesday, May 14th (MSVT) £224 (including group discount) Brands Hatch Circuit is a real favourite amongst track day drivers. This Indy circuit is surprisingly difficult to perfect with double apexes at both Druids and Clearways. The swoops and dips add to excitement culminating in Paddock Hill Bend often described as being like dropping off the edge of the world! It should be on the list of must-dos for every track day driver in the country! https://www.msvtrackdays.com/car/circuits/brands-hatch/ Perfect location if you near London or South East. https://www.msvtrackdays.com/car/calendar/2019/may/14-bh/ I have organized a group discount - 10% off and free garage when we get to 5+. How to book: Call 01474 875 226 Give reference “GT86/ BRZ Drivers Club" (you can also use vouchers) Once you have booked please let me know. (Will also post on FB, if you confirm on FB please also let me know your forum name). Confirmed: 1. @VAD17 2. @Bles 3. @maurice … and couple non-GT86/ BRZ friends
  18. Toyota dealership tested the battery and said its all fine and it holds the charge. As I expected, not surprised as I've been regularly driving for the past week. I'll keep the RAC call-out sheet and if this happens again (which I expect it would when I am away for 2 weeks again), I will write a letter asking for replacement of the battery. The guy at the dealership suggested I buy a solar car battery charger to use if I am away for a few weeks😣 And they have done an "inspection" highlight by TPMS light as advisory "suspected after market wheels fitted" - I like the "suspected" bit🤣

  22. If anyone is interested in doing Carlimits training day in August. Highly recommended by a number of club members! I have booked my on Wednesday August 28th 2 spaces still available for that day https://www.carlimits.com/script/viewEvents.php?type=airfieldtraining&month=20190801
  23. I kept the original 48amp battery, but still surprised that in normal temps it lasted only 2 weeks (exactly). Wrote Toyota an email and immediately received a call offering free battery testing... Will do it right after servicing at Abbey, lets see if they give be free replacement and 65amp battery instead. Sent from my SM-G973F using Tapatalk
  24. My battery is dead after holiday again Called Toyota Kigston about replacement under warranty. They told me "technician needs to carry inspection. The cost is £150. If replacement needs to be done, the cost would be refunded, if not its a charge to pay". This just does not sound right considering its still under warranty and the cost is higher than the cost of replacement 65amp battery. Considering I am driving it again, afraid their "test" may show all is fine with the battery, Did anyone had to pay recently such charges just to get their cars inspected while under warranty? Very tempted to write a letter of complaint, but don't think they care tbf..
