    Will300's Subaru BRZ Build

I had Motul 600, last time changed to Millers 300+ (its DOT 4+ grade). Intend to change it once a year (5-6k miles, 8-10 track days). I had 5 laps at Bedford (19mins in total, including 1/2 out lap and 1/2 co0l down lap) being pretty hard on brakes, and then another 4 laps after short brake (should have stayed a bit longer) and it was fine although pads gave a nasty smell and disks were hot even after 10-15mins back at pits. Very consistent feel. @will300- you're pretty late on the brakes (way past the Brake board). Your brakes set up seem to be quite effective. I will try ECB's Bluestuffs next time around, but will be watching your experience. Where did you get Endless (don't think there are many suppliers in the UK)?
  3. I have TD's super resonated (their YouTube video is my grey GT86). 80.8db at 4.5k revs (yesterday at Bedford), although from previous track days it was a bit louder. Its also decat manifold and TD turbo. Love it! Its sufficiently quiet to go on any track (including Thruxton) but has a lower and more pleasant tone. Also you can easily hear turbo woosh when you floor it properly [emoji3] Sent from my SM-G973F using Tapatalk

  5. Question for those who have experience/ knowledge with changing gear shift knob, particularly for AT. AT thread is 10x1.25 while MT is 12x1.25. I am considering whether I can use 10 to 12 adaptor (something like one in the link) and then just screw 12x1.25 gear knob (or use already provided 12x1.25 adaptor in the Raceseng Apex R knob). https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/JDM-shift-gear-knob-adapter-to-fit-thread-10x1-25-and-will-convert-to-12x1-25/222464441530?hash=item33cbe9fcba:g:9r4AAOSw1RVafFRz Ebay adaptor also has a small lip, but I guess it would be too small to serve as a gear stick boot retainer (in AT knob its integrated into the knob itself). Would appreciate any suggestions

    4 weeks and counting

Welcome! Its a great car for modifications, lots of choices (I must admit I barely lasted 6mth before doing my first). N/A tune from TD or similar would be my 1st choice on the list - transforms the car and makes it so much more enjoyable [emoji3]. Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk

  14. Who would be interested in Carlimits Airfield training day for 4 cars on August 28th? I think I will combine it with a track day at Snetterton on August 29th (and stay overnight near Norwich). Spoke to Katy at Carlimits and we can try to have it GT86/ BRZ exclusive. If we have only 3 of us interested my mate Nick (M3) is always up for another day at North Weald Airfield. Let me know if there is enough interest and I will ask Katy to keep this date for us. If anyone would like to do Snetterton on Aug 29th as well I will organise group booking and discount

    The 64th Pomeroy Trophy

Event Title: The 64th Pomeroy Trophy Event Author: VAD17 Event Date: 16.02.2019 The 64th Pomeroy Trophy Saturday, February 16th, 2019 Silverstone https://blog.toyota.co.uk/is-your-toyota-a-winner-join-us-at-silverstone-to-find-out?fbclid=IwAR31j6UIt-ZmkNCdAObTQ5uDgrVg2uUwNm-SoE46tupG-vpeNKCaYzARWOc For more than half a century the men and women behind The Pom have awarded the winning car the accolade of best touring car, or all-rounder. So, in conjunction with the main contest, held on Saturday 16 February 2019, Toyota GB and the Vintage Sports-Car Club are inviting any road-going Toyota to join an exclusive event. It is called the Parallel Pomeroy Trophy and will take place on the same day at Silverstone, using elements of the same tests, and be assessed by the same judges as The Pom itself. The mission is to find the UK’s best Toyota! Competitors will participate in a series of autotest-style challenges, with a minimum of six tests scheduled on the day. A competition licence isn’t required, but a road driving licence is needed and passengers are not allowed to be on board during the tests. The handicap formula used to determine the scoring will take into account factors such as a car’s engine capacity, its year of manufacture and the times recorded on the tests. Run in the UK since 1952 by the Vintage Sports-Car Club (VSCC), the Pomeroy Trophy pits cars of all types and from all eras against each other using a unique series of calculations to ensure all are judged equally. The only strict requirement is that any car entering must be road legal. https://www.vscc.co.uk/page/events?eventID=1359&fbclid=IwAR3vjozmchVVrR8AtkcvH4VDOHtkUYhGtV8hbEtDaMHBWDF8TDIVmpKMK3k Entry Fee is £30 Spectating is free Who's participating and who will join to spectate? 16. Actually I was wrong, just tried booking on Weekend Racers club stand and it was working again (strange, dont know why I couldn't do it before). Suggest we join them, looks like there will be 3 of us... they are nice bunch (some are a bit crazy going on track on action day [emoji23]). There is also a track day at Caste Combe the day before if anyone is interested (although expect it may be busier than usual) Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
  17. I was planning to join Weekend Reacers bunch (with Gavin), but when I finally got to ordering the tickets on Sunday it seems allocated spaces are gone now. Probably little point getting club stand for 2 of us (we had this before though [emoji6] - 2 nearly new GT86 & BRZ). Happy to organise, was planning to attend anyway even if public parking. Apart from Rob and me, anyone else would like to join the club stand? Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk

  20. I wouldn't bother with insurance for this one. Moris will insure airfield day, but considering there is nothing to hit there (may be a cone), you will not have other cars to hit and excess I don't think its worth it. Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
  21. Here is how I recall my day at Carlimits We had 4 cars, I was 1st time, 3 other guys were at Carlimits couple times before (one guy with old Golf got exhaust nearly falling off mid afternoon, so for some time it was really just 3 of us). Instructor was Mark Robins - First we had couple goes at threshold braking; - Pretty much till lunch it was high speed bend. First Mark would show, then each of us would do it in turn with Mark switching between the cars or observing each from the outside (it was still raining). It was practicing controlling oversteer and understeer. Mark tried to teach me left foot braking to control understeer, but much success with slow learner like me - After lunch we split with 2 guys doing mainly high speed bend initially while Mark spent more time with me on doing doughnuts and bow ties (too much to process/ learn for me, but would be keen to try it again). - Then we swapped and I had couple more tried on high speed bend. - Then Mark put cones and made a mini handling circuit. We had 2 or 3 timed sessions each (fairly short) to wrap up the day. This is what I think a "beginner" day looks like. Once you do 3+ days you qualify for "advanced" programme, Adi probably can tell more about it. I found 4 cars day to be pretty good, and at 1/2 cost of 2 car day I think I would rather do 2 of these. Who's up for a Carlimits day last week of August?
  22. Its certainty harder on tyres than an "average" track day (at least in my case), but when I did it last year I was lucky to have wet morning and then it progressively dried up, perfect combination imo. The places actually being booked well in advance. April does not have days with 4 places available, May has only 9th and 14th (when I was planning to do track day at Brands). If we have interest for May 14th I can organise that instead. Let me know - respond if you interested and I will check if we can get 4 spaces to make it GT86 exclusive[emoji3]. In June we have quite a lot of events planned already, July school holidays and I am pretty much out till 2nd half of August. I would be keen on either Aug 27th or 28th (after August Bank holiday weekend). Appreciate its long into the future, but if we have couple people expressing interest I would organise. I wouldn't mind doing it couple times this year as I need to learn/ practice to control both understeer and oversteer and quite a few people did it multiple times and recommend highly (Adi did it like 15 times - I can tell after doing passenger laps with him at Donington [emoji16]). Let me know whether you would like to join - May 14th - Aug 27th or 28th (2019[emoji6]) Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
  23. May be just 2 of us again Considering we don't have sufficient interest for our own club stand would appreciate if we can tag along... I am also thinking if we could potentially organize an exclusive track day in autumn (when its cheap). We may not have enough bodies/ cars on our own, but can discuss with Weekend Racers and see if joint "exclusive" track day may be an option.
