    Greetings fellow GT86'ers!

Welcome aboard! Direct line was quite reasonable for unmodified car (they even have GT86 in their TV ad), but guess import will push premium up. Hope to see you at one of the meets Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk

    Remap?

Keep cat back and go for TD NA package (may be a bit loud though). It would be cheaper that getting manifold, fitting and then remapping separately. Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
  7. Dont be surprised with the price, Toyota was aiming at Cayman. Tick few options and you will get way north of 60k with Cayman and you still get 4 cylinder turbo (even though on paper GTS looks more compelling). This said I thought entry level Supra would be just under 50k (it probably will soon with discount/ incentive from Toyota dealerships). It would be interesting to test Supra and Cayman back to back on road and track [emoji41] But I like what I see/ read so far. Its the type of car I would like to have in couple years (well more like 4+) when I can get away with 2 seats only. And then I will have a good choice of 2nd hand Supras, Caymans, Alpine[emoji6] Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk

    Problem With Heat Wrap

I found a photo of my from last year. Pretty close, Mike wrapped both. Had no problems at all, including track days... Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk

    Big brake kit time?

I have Ksports, seem pretty good, certainly much better than stock (you have seen them at Bedford [emoji6]). Reyland Motorsport would be another option to consider in roughly same price range (more expensive due to AP calipers cost). Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
  11. I used padded gloves, still awkward. Thanks for suggestion. I am going to get a proper key cut over the weekend, just in case... Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
  12. Had a brain fart (for over a year. Ha [emoji21]). Child lock was on and I never checked, how embarrassing... But the alarm is turned off now. Googled that opening trunk get its sorted, seemed to work. Now off to get battery charged. Oh, and the AA guys ended up talking a lot about the car and now seem to want to buy one as well [emoji3], gave him forum address.. Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
  13. Nope Does yours? I couldn't do it from the beginning just had to double click the key fob. Didnt bother me till today [emoji852] Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
  14. The battery is fully drained (in my 2017 I still have 48amp one [emoji853]). Connect the battery to jump start the engine and alarm goes off. Key fob does not switch it off... I cant even open passenger door (another really annoying feature of GT86 that only driver's door unlocks unless I either open passenger door or double click the open button on the key fob) Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
  15. How do you guys turn the alarm off? Managed to get the door open after 10 mins of left-right key wriggling. Recovery guy showed up without a jump lead, just small battery, and its does not have enough power for me to try the code on the key fob Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk

  17. So, have not used car for 2.5 weeks (holiday)... Battery dead, mechanical key does not work (small movements left/ right does not help). Will call AA tomorrow evening (WD40 into the lock in the morning)... Not impressed at all [emoji37] Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk

    The 64th Pomeroy Trophy

The 64th Pomeroy Trophy Saturday, February 16th, 2019 Silverstone https://blog.toyota.co.uk/is-your-toyota-a-winner-join-us-at-silverstone-to-find-out?fbclid=IwAR31j6UIt-ZmkNCdAObTQ5uDgrVg2uUwNm-SoE46tupG-vpeNKCaYzARWOc For more than half a century the men and women behind The Pom have awarded the winning car the accolade of best touring car, or all-rounder. So, in conjunction with the main contest, held on Saturday 16 February 2019, Toyota GB and the Vintage Sports-Car Club are inviting any road-going Toyota to join an exclusive event. It is called the Parallel Pomeroy Trophy and will take place on the same day at Silverstone, using elements of the same tests, and be assessed by the same judges as The Pom itself. The mission is to find the UK’s best Toyota! Competitors will participate in a series of autotest-style challenges, with a minimum of six tests scheduled on the day. A competition licence isn’t required, but a road driving licence is needed and passengers are not allowed to be on board during the tests. The handicap formula used to determine the scoring will take into account factors such as a car’s engine capacity, its year of manufacture and the times recorded on the tests. Run in the UK since 1952 by the Vintage Sports-Car Club (VSCC), the Pomeroy Trophy pits cars of all types and from all eras against each other using a unique series of calculations to ensure all are judged equally. The only strict requirement is that any car entering must be road legal. https://www.vscc.co.uk/page/events?eventID=1359&fbclid=IwAR3vjozmchVVrR8AtkcvH4VDOHtkUYhGtV8hbEtDaMHBWDF8TDIVmpKMK3k Entry Fee is £30 Spectating is free Who's participating and who will join to spectate?

Wish you all your dreams come true (whatever they are: new wheels, coilovers, turbo- or supercharger... or just another lap time records) and feel joy and happiness entire 2019! Hope you all have a great time over the festive period and looking forward seeing you at Donington, Silverstone and many other club events and social meets next year (we'll put more in the calendar in January). メリークリスマスと新年おめでとう (not sure if I got this right though). Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! PS - Feel free to continue thread with your wishes and comments

    New owner questions

I think once you've got NA tune with decat manifold it addresses the mid range dip and is a lot more fun to drive. Also reasonably priced mod, making it a no-brainer IMO. If its for daily/ weekend driving then with better pads and different tyres it may be all you need. I ended up going with TD Turbo package (and few supporting mods) though [emoji23] Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
