Jeff/ @Deacon, Kev/ @KevinA, Lauren/ @Lauren - time to make some plans for 2019 club days? Let me know which ones you would like me to take care of. May be?: 30 March (Saturday) - Spring Action Day at Castle Combe - not many attended last year, but may be we can join with Weekend Racers bunch if they will have us. I am happy to arrange this or if we have enough interest will have a club stand of our own. 5 May (Sunday) - Japfest at Silverstone - shout if you need any help with this one. Last year was great! 9 June (Sunday) - TunerFest South (Brands Hatch) - I would be delighted to arrange a club stand and will provide muffins and soft drinks for all attendees. There are other options for June we can choose from: 1 June (Saturday) - JDM Combe, 8 June (Saturday) - Jap Show 2019 at Santa Pod; 22 June (Saturday) - Summer Action Festival at Castle Combe. We can decide if we would like to do more in June Then there will be Japfest at Donington (Saturday, July 13), Simply Japanese at Beaulieu (Sunday, July 28), JAE in August. Unfortunately I would not be able to help with these as I would be out (on a road trip in the US).

    Coilovers for Street car

For under 1k Tein Flex As are pretty good. Few guys on the forum had a ride in my car at Bedford set at 4 clicks from hard both front and rear and for road I set them at 8 clicks (mid way) front and 9 rear. Although with more than 10 clicks (2 softer from mid way) seem a bit too bouncy for my liking. I thought 2017 stock suspension was already quite good, but wanted larger/ wider wheels and adjustable for occaisional track days. Went for Flex A based on comments from this forum and price seemed right. Hope they will last as well. Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk

    Aftermarket Wheels & TPMS

Tpms light bothered me for about a week, not anymore [emoji41]... I may try new sensors when I replace tyres next time, but my gut feel they may not work. But if anyone finds an inexpensive solution or tyre fitters that have experience with Toyota Tpms, I would also be interested to know. Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk

    What supercharger? (Maybe turbo)

Aparently it does [emoji23] Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
  13. It has a bit more lower tone grumble, so the sound I would say is little more aggressive than pure stock, but not by much. Quite a few people commented its being similar to stock. TBF - few also mentioned they 'd prefer louder. No drone on motorways either. You do hear the turbo woosh when accelerating hard though [emoji38]... Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
  14. I can tell you its great and super quiet (TD video on YouTube is my car). 77db at 4.5k/ 79db at 5.5k. No problems with any track, headroom even at Thruxton [emoji38] Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk

  16. Thanks Lauren, interesting review. I would agree Performance Pack seem like a no brainer option just for brakes and wheels alone. I wish however they were 18" (or at least an option of 18") and different tyres. And 10-15 hps more from the factory would have done wonders to distinguish it from regular trim. Would be interesting to try different suspensions back to back (say MY17, Sachs and Teins). I also find the colour surprisingly to my taste, didnt think I would say this for a blue Toyota [emoji38]. Would be interesting (academically in my case) what sort of discount you can get from the dealer for it, at full price of over 31k it seems like getting more expensive than "under 30k all-inclusive" package GT86 suppose to aim for (although some of this may be £ exchange rate related). What supercharger? (Maybe turbo)

I have Tuning Developments turbo kit. Just over 280hp. Nearly 6mth, 3.5k miles and 4 track days later still love the gentle whoosh you get when going over 3k on rev counter. I actually like a lot that in normal daily/ city driving its tame and quiet (mine is also super res), going on motorway or a nice empty country road you can play a bit and then you get a LOT more fun on track (or M6 toll). Some prefer more linear power delivery of a supercharger, some think turbo gives a better option of going over 280-300 hp with further mods (both Fensport and Tuning Developments have stages 2+ onwards for even more hps), I would say try both. On a typical club meet you would see few options, we had both t/c and s/c cars on recent club track day at Bedford. Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk

  20. My policy with Adrian Flux is now active, so I thought I would post a short update as well. Adrian Flux was a lot more competitive than Sky (my previous insurer). They were not the best quote initially but matched the best one I received (including a NCD protection as standard). Getting account set up online and providing documents was easy. There was a mix up with an offer of 5 track days insurance as an add-on. Was difficult to get any sensible response initially but thanks to @DAN@ADRIAN FLUX intervention (thanks Dan!) someone called me back and finally had a proper explanation. I ended up with no extra track day insurance (well, guess it would be Morris again next year as I would be looking for multi-day policy), but the fact that AF rep is on the forum gives me some confidence that AF would value its reputation among the club members sufficiently to address any queries or short out claims (which I hope to never have). Overall I found getting quotes for a modified car (and particularly asking for a policy with added track days or an option to pay for track days similar to Greenlight) a bit of a kerfuffle - basically had to call half a dozen specialist and the price variation was quite wide (Sky for example after getting very reasonable price for remaining term of the policy after I got turbo installed decided to rake up the new quote by several hundred pounds). Some specialist brokers take their time to get back to you and it takes time to gather like-for-like list and get down to a shortlist of 2-3.
