Weather forecast looks good for a day out, dont forget the sun cream[emoji39]. Safe journey and see you tomorrow guys[emoji16]. I also booked track session, not sure yet if I would be brave enough after watching YouTube 2015 and 2016 action days at Castle Combe [emoji33]. I still have 2 extra tickets free if some one fancies a last minute decision to come over. Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk

Welcome. Modding can get quite addictive [emoji23] Not marketing (not even asking for an additional discount), but if you after Rays talk to Lucas@Partbox, he occasionally has interesting offers... I would also say change of manifold and re-tune is probably the best mod for a stock car imo. Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk

I have test drove both Cayman and 911 before settling on GT86 (911 was not really a serious contender due to price, but why wouldn't you try it out). Cayman was by far the best in test drive and if you fine with a 2 seater with higher running costs, its a no brainer imo (sorry chaps, just expressing my views). Even current 4 cyl turbo will give you power, handling and sound to keep you happy. And with long range of options you can add them to have out of the box spec to keep it forever. New one is a different price bracket to GT86, but 2nd hand Cayman can occasionally be had at a very reasonable price (even from Porsche dealership if you tell them what you are after). 2nd hand GTS would be my choice. If you are after 4 seats (small kids [emoji16]), and/or want to play with modding your car or want to manage annual "car budget" closer, then there are few contenders to GT86. I will probably end up spending as much on my GT86 as 2nd hand Cayman by the time I have done all the mods I would like to try, but I will have more fun doing it and few track days in between. Frankly unless you are on track (and being stuck behind slow Cayman which can speed up on straights and would not let you pass is very annoying), the price difference for me is not worth it (but its more comfortable, no doubt), but if its just you ( or 2 of you) on a few longer trips, I can see the appeal of a Cayman. On the other hand I have a good friend who bought GT3 and does not drive it much or take it on track because its just so expensive (be has M3 for that, )... Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk

Would greatly appreciate some thoughts and advice... Thinking about replacement brake pad options (after couple more track days). I have Ksports front BBK (356mm) and stock rear. Not planning to upgrade (other priorities waiting implementation towards the end of summer). Both have Yellowsuff pads which I am reasonably happy with them (much better on track days than stock, last 20mins, no squeal even after cold night. 18x9.5J wheels in MPS 4 (and probably would replace with another set of MPS 4 when these are done) I do only 5-6k miles p.a., mainly short trips and aiming for (say) 8-10 track days a year (predominantly cold weather). Options I am considering: 1) Yellowstuff again - seem to do the job well, reasonably priced 2) PFC Z-Rates front & either Yellowstuff or Streetmaster rear - somewhat cheaper, but hear they squeal more 3) Ferrodo DS2500 - twice the cost of Yellowstuff, hear they also noisier 4) Other? For daily and weekend driving I feel Yellowstuff are very good. For occasional track day would the difference be noticeable (I am not a late-braker) without constant noise on short distances? Thanks in advance for your feedback

Summer Action Festival 2018 - Castle Combe - July 7th
VAD17 replied to VAD17's topic in Social Meets
I have booked the club stand for Summer Action Festival. Club booking code included in the post -
Apologies, my bad about Beaulieu. Was trying to be helpful and put few events in the diary, but was not sure about etiquette if not attending it myself. Thanks @Leevsfortyone. The rule "you put it in the diary - you "own" it" is right and I will organize stand for Summer Action Festival @ Castle Combe (already done for JDM Castle Combe & Tunerfest South). I think it may also be helpful to put forward events people would like to attend or thinking about well in advance and for those accessing forum on mobile decides with no calendar having some way to suggest events (hence the topic I started) @rob275 and @Leevsfortyone - very happy to help with events south or within 2hrs from London.
-
Unless anyone contacted Events Team at Beaulieu (events@beaulieu.co.uk), happy to do so. Need to have approximate number of vehicle we expect to attend. They will send details 2 weeks prior to the event and will need final confirmation of number of attendees.

No, not for this one. I will be still in Austria for this one, unfortunately will not be able to join this year. Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk

Is anyone else going to PistonHeads Denbies SS? https://www.pistonheads.com/calendar/event.asp?i=84888 I see @HariboPenguin , @bassett and @maurice on the list. Only 1/2 hour from South London.

Good write up, like the mods [emoji3]. Thanks for the summary. I have not tested M2 before deciding on GT86, but having tried one recently thought that would be my choice if I did not go for GT86. Competition series just way too expensive though... Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
