Lets do one after new year? I will be definitely up to it. Above suggestions look good but smth further south would also work well. If you end up meeting around Christmas lets do another in Jan anyway [emoji6] Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk

I just tried few on track days to see. Frankly was not that much of a difference - Bell was somewhat less comfortable in M (but L was too loose), and I found Sparco fitted me well and my ears didnt hurt after a whole day on in it. Sparco also has several different M sizes, so it was a bit easier to choose. But if you cant find a shop close by (I couldn't), I'd say try few at track days and then order online from somewhere with good returns policy. Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk

Helmet sorted as well now, ready for 2018... My GT86 is going to get some nice Christmas presents thanks to Mike@TD.co.uk and Lucas@Partbox. Looking to decide on next track day - either Bedford again or Brands in February. Would want to try TD NA tune asap while I still remember how stock car behaved. I also want to try CarLimits, but taking a day off in Jan or Feb will be challenging Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk

Had a great day at Silverstone last Sunday with Opentrack. As with Bedford took me some time to get used to the circuit and learn the lines, and it was a bit crowded (with all the expensive supercars around was not entirely comfortable getting close to them ). But what a fantastic circuit, definitely worth the extra money. Got a bit too brave in early afternoon and ended up turning through astroturf into Arena couple times (each time 1st lap from the pits), but all was fine and stayed all the way till dawn. Managed to overtake McLaren P1 (well, he was doing cooling lap , but still - shame had no video or photo). Great day, time to plan next one...

Good luck and give me a shout if you decide to go. I'll be dying to try TD NA tune on track[emoji6]... after New Year Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk

Well, MSV also has few options on Dec 16th... Bedford is £119... I thought I was done for 2017 after doing Silly track day this Sunday (separate update to follow[emoji3]), but still tempted... MSV now has dates released till end of Feb, so if anyone is up for a Saturday or Sunday track day in Feb at Bradford or Brands please let me know[emoji16] Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk

Supercar PHSS was cool, thats the only one I attended (wanted to go to Silly but was on holiday that weekend). Dont think we will be able to park together unless we meet somewhere in advance and then arrive together. Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk

I will (probably) be there. Any takers for a track day on 16th? Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk

Forgive me for asking a dumb question - but what are peoples view/ experience with wheels wider than 8.5J on track? Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk -
Do you have Ksports front only? And if so which rear rotors do you have and has it affected bias much? Also do you have experience/ views with different pads on KSports and your preference for road and track set up? Thanks Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk

Thanks for the feedback. I am not planning on putting racing buckets or multi-point belts, so HANS is not an option I am considering. I have looked at Simpson hybrid sport harness as an alternative if i decide to track more, apparently it works even with 3 point belt. There isnt really a motorsports store close by (at least i couldn't google one up in South East close to Wimbledon), so i might go and check it out while I am at Silverstone. Booked next track day at Silverstone on Nov 26th. Thinking whether to buy my own helmet. Any recommendations? I have tried Bell and Arai. Bell seem good but I cant decide whether to go for M or L. Will inside mould a bit after few days? I know people say get the most expensive you can afford, but for few (novice) track days hard to justify 400-500+ pounds. Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk

Unfortunately I will be in Spain, so not this time. But I am considering doing track day at Silly on Nov 26th. Would be great to see few more GT86 (I was only one at Bedford 2 weeks ago). Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk

Ended up going with Sky for GT86. They came down on price a bit and although still more expensive than main insureinsurers i decided to pay for an option of having mods added later on. But, frankly, Sky was the only specialist insurance broker I had on the shortlist left. (DL for Lexus as they were cheapest and seem ok when i called them with questions). Well, thats insurance sorted for 1 more year. Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk -

Do people really tell their insurer when they fit different brake pads? I really had no idea. I would guess not, but reading the small print (and from experience I'd say it would not hurt) it says "any" modifications from manufacturer standard... as a minimum i would inform the insurance company that the call is recorded, note time and date and clearly confirm what changed either do not need to be declared (pads, tyres, wheels...) or will not result in an increase in premium. Thanks Just had a call also with Admiral (my current insurer). They did try to match the cheaper quotes (not there but close), but my question about potential mods made the rest of discussion very amusing[emoji23]. Interestingly they must have some guidance from underwriters (for example also said that wheels and suspension mods will cost nothing extra if lowered by no more than 5sm) but anything not on that "list" needs to be discussed with underwriters. Not sure if I would want this discussion every time i change pads... Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk -

Well, Greenlight thinks Wimbledon has lot of dodgy drivers claiming on their "under 20k" policies. Well, with all the Porsches around and very few modified cars (i have seen 1 that might be under 20k) I dont know, but they told me no. Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
