Don't forget that you don't need to cover the whole cost of the car. As the excess is so large you could insure for £5-10k less as the likely hood of doing £25k of damage (I assume by the excess) is unlikely unless you roll and total the car in a fireball. It will also make the excess smaller. Think of it this way, a front or rear end shunt is unlikely to ever cost over £15k to repair. A cosmetic shunt is probably only going to run up to £10k worth of repairs at the worst. Thanks, why haven't I thought of it this way before... Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk

Thanks. Has been recommended by several people. But its 3.5 hrs each way 😣. May be when my family is ready for a weekend trip (and the little one wants to see more "lacing cals"😁). Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk

I was quoted £315 for 2 days (with 2,5k excess, but I have brand new car). % wise its steep considering excess, but then I insure even my skis🤣. My current insurance for 2 cars runs out in October so I will do some comparing aiming for (say) 5 track days a year. But frankly with rates like I wad quoted I see why people take the risk of write a write off (and another reason why I am so glad GT86 is a reasonably priced car). Thanks guys, appreciate your advice. I just did 2 days with Colin at CAT (split with work buddy who is a fairly experienced on track), which gave me enough confidence to look forward to my first track day. And I am going again in 2 weeks with this club crew😁. I am keen on Silverstone (with Colin again), but think i may gain even more if I do may be a day before either on a novice day (thanks for heads up @bassett) or with track academy. A basic newby question if I may... The one thing I find annoying is going over the speed bumps (I have them every 50m or so pretty much in every direction around here😕). Would Tien flex As (with or without edfc) be noticeable better than stock? Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk

I feel like a kid in a candy store 😁. Thats (one of) the reasons i bought this car. I have made a deal with the missus not to mod for the first 6mth (so so hard to resist🤔). Thanks for the opinion on the Sport. Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk

Finally my grey auto GT86 2017 arrived [emoji1] (after nearly 3 mths on the boat and over a week in the port [emoji35] ). After first 50 miles - fantastic, even better than the 2 test drives i recall. Looking forward meeting you guys, particularly if there are any events close to SW London. May not be the right place to ask, but 1. Does anyone know if 2017 version comes with reversing camera (mine does not have one, but brochure raves about touch2 with reversing camera). If not, any recommendation for aftermarket options (close to SW London if poss). 2. Would love to see cars with aftermarket turbo and SC, although with a new car and 5y warranty may take me some time to make up my mind (but "The Dip" is there indeed). 3. Any recommendations for a group 1-3 child car seat (my 2 yo had an eye on Ferrari, but had to settle for next best thing). But he demands the ride now... Cheers Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk

Right, first thoughts on potential mods As a background - this is my weekend car, with estimated 3-4k miles p.a and hopefully 5-6 track days a year (and may be occasional long bank weekend trip to Wales or Cornwall). Main objective is to keep it comfortable on London and S&E roads and manage abovementioned occasional track day. Will keep stock 17" wheels for now considering limited track plans (not sure 18" will make much difference for me apart from being able to fit larger brakes and tyres) 1. Brakes - thinking about replacing fronts with Tarox 328mm kit (grooved or japanese) and rear with Tarox disk and paint calipers to match fronts (red or black?). APs are just a lot more expensive - cant justify then considering limited track plans. (Alternative is to keep stock for a while and just paint calipers or may be replace disks only). 2. Tyres - will keep stock, but let's see how they perform. Then will change to YokoV105 or Pilot Sport4. 3. Coilovers - good offers now at DemonTweaks. Was originally thinking about FlexAs, but tempted by KW Variant 3 (at £300 off). From reviews I like Bilstein B16, but wonder if thats ott for what I am after. 4. Cosmetics - just tint back and small sides, cant think of anything else for now (may be get black Toyota badges). 5. New exhaust and remap - thats probably for next year. Very tempted with TD offer, but its just so far north from South London [emoji17] . Will need to keep it reasonably quiet. Would appreciate any recommendations/ thoughts and constructive criticism 😁 Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk

Are you considering just front kit or both front and back? And how much difference does it make? Looks like your considerations and short list us just like my, but clearly you ve done more thinking and research [emoji1]. Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk

What about Tarox? Rob had a good review. They are quite a bit cheaper. I am also considering BBK as my first mod on a new car. Planning for max 5-6 track days a year (wish could do more but fairly unlikely). Heard good words about AP Racing, so still undecided. Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk

Catdrivers Performance Driving course - Aug 21-22

Thanks, would love to join. Just asked if its ok. Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk -
Hi guys, I am thinking of Catdrivers Performance Driver & Optimisation courses @ Millbrook on August 21st-22nd. Some of you have attended it already and looks like had a good fun. I am looking to get some training and more performance driving experience before joining others on the open track days. These are 2 full day courses and for 2-2-1 basis. Catdrivers price is £1,270 per person for 2 days (and I cant justify for myself the cost of 1-2-1 course). Unfortunately my work buddy can not attend these days (unlike me who have entire family away then), so if anyone is interested let me know. I think it would be interesting to have someone from the club and do it together. I will be at Tunersfest this Sunday (EJ17 XOT) if anyone wants to chat or share their Millbrook experience with Catdrivers, or just drop me a line.

Tried, but didn't succeed. Also could not get the system to use my mobile internet connection. Will be looking for some guidance on the internet. Guess you had no success either? Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
