Morning all, Just putting feelers out in the forum I am wanting to purchase a gt86 at the end of April/may. After 2 years of considering, of which one year was looking to purchase and the next owning a boring German brand due to personal reasons I have now decided its time to stop putting it off and starting to enjoy life with a car that allows me to have a little fun. - Looking for a 13/14 plate with ideally less that 50k miles on the clock. - She looks pretty in all colours however the ginger really does it for me. Therefore. I will say my preference is ginger with half leather alcantara seats. - I understand every preference is lowing the number of potential cars available but I don’t want to be buying a car I have wanted for so long but with the wrong spec for me. You may may be wondering why I am waiting for a month or two before purchasing but it is mainly because I need to get my current car serviced and I have also just bought my first home therefore wanting to use my current car for shifting all the large household items. I will mostly likely post again closer to the time however just putting feelers out in case anyone is thinking of selling up in the upcoming months. Ps - I should hopefully get to meet some of you at Japfest Donnington, if any of you are attending. thanks in advance, Connor

Wanted GT86 April/May Purchase
Ccolleavy replied to Ccolleavy's topic in Wanted GT86 / BRZ Cars and Parts
Thanks Gavin, I have to say the colour is just a little different, only ever seen one ginger on the road heading towards Wythenshawe on the m56 and instantly became my favourite colour. -
Anyone had any use with the 99RON Costco fuel? Thinking about a Costco card seen as one literally a mile away from me in Oldham. Last time I heard it was at least 10 or 15p cheaper than V power.

Hi All, I have been lurking on the forum for a number of months now. I currently do not own GT86/BRZ however I think the savings should allow me to purchase one in October (Hopefully). My main question is the torque dip. Is it really as bad as people make out? The car would be my daily driver and my partner lets just say doesn't like me driving fast (As you may guess it is hard to drive fast in a 1.2ltr Corsa ) but I have always been under the belief a little power is good to get out of sticky situations on the road. If the torque dip really is that bad is there any way to reduce the dip without changing manifold? would remapping reduce the dip on its own? I am also up for changing the exhaust to de-cat and changing panel filter to allow the car to breathe more. Cheers, Connor.

Thanks @Church I will keep that one in mind, has anyone else gone through this route?

I will end up taking a few out for test drives in mid/late September hopefully like @GT86JP said. Just wanted your opinions as well seen as a lot of you know your way around the 86/BRZ. To be honest I don't think the dip would annoy me in the slightest in the first 12months but always good to know options available but still get it to pass MOT and all that.

Would be just turned 21 when end up buying an 86 so insurance prices are still little higher but affordable thankfully. Therefore 3.7lire 300bhp+ car in a Manchester postcode isn't going to be cheap. Take it this was a supra with very little modifications declared was quoting me £11,000 and I would of had to be female to accent that seen as the insurance provider was just for women.

Wouldn't changing the manifold lead to an MOT Failure or is the front cat located elsewhere?

Loving the car mate! Them wheels are stunning as well. How rare are the full leather seats in the 86's, only ever seen a few.
