A fortnight ago I took my car to Mike at Tuning Developments to work his magic. I opted for the UEL manifold as I wanted that characteristic burble to the exhaust note. Mike also persuaded me to have uprated shifter springs fitted. Firstly I want to say how friendly and knowledgeable Mike was. I've never had a car tuned on a rolling road before, and Mike put me at ease and answered all my questions. Two weeks in and I can say that I'm really pleased with the better midrange torque the GT86 now has. Combined with the more positive gear change, the car is an absolute joy to drive. In terms of acoustics, I haven't changed anything else so have the factory second cat and catback exhaust. It's only marginally louder and not intrusive at motorway speeds. If anything it's making me reconsider whether I would actually want a louder exhaust as that boxer burble is so wonderful! One very minor side effect to mention is that there is a very small increase in NVH into the cabin, which I suspect is from the unequal exhaust pulses. Another thing to note for anyone who would like to use this as a first step towards a turbo in the future, Mike explained to me it wouldn't be possible to keep the second cat if turbocharging. Come MOT time one would have to swap a cat back in. For my personal circumstances and preferences, this rules out a turbo for me as I don't have the time or facility to change a cat in and out. Overall I am happy to recommend this tuning package. It's great value for money and well worth the trip! Sent from my ONEPLUS A5000 using Tapatalk

The Toyota GT86 perfected. £11500 I am selling this fantastic car as I am moving to New Zealand. I would have never sold it otherwise, as it is the most enjoyable car I have ever driven. I have spent my ownership perfecting it to be a car that handles incredibly on British roads, with excellent engine response, whilst also being comfortable enough to drive every-day. I had the car’s suspension installed and geometry set up by Rally Prep, who won the R3 rally championship in 2016 in their GT86 CS-R3: http://rallyprep.co.uk/gt86cs-r3.html The car is located in Totnes, South Devon. Test drives are welcome (and encouraged!) so long as the prospective buyer has proof of fully comprehensive car insurance for the drive. Please be aware that most comprehensive insurance plans only provide third party cover for driving other vehicles. Included in the sale: Original 17” alloy wheels Spare boot floor Car cover Details: 2013 Toyota GT86 in Red 58K miles on odometer Full and comprehensive service history – I am the second owner All recall work completed, including updated valve springs last year. Sounds like a difficult decision depending on what your priorities and plans are? If reliability is the most important factor, then the newer car would make sense although you are paying a premium for longer warranty. 22k miles is low but on the other hand it does depend on how those miles were driven which you can never know for sure buying from a dealer / 3rd party. If value for money is the most important factor, then the older car is a better bet and you can always spend some of the savings you make on making the car your own. I cant comment on the difference in drive between the MY12 and MY17 models as only driven the former, but I suspect there's very little in it. Someone else might be able to say. Mine is up for sale in the classifieds if interested but may not fit your needs. At the end of the day, you will probably be happy with whichever 86 you choose. Test drive as many as you can and the one go for the one you like the most Wish you all the best.

A little surprised no one has snapped this up yet? Open to the idea that I've priced over-ambitiously if anyone would want to give an opinion? -
What's the gearstick rattle - never experienced this in mine?
-
cheers for this - it was exactly that. Aircon now lovely and cold!

Mine has packed in as well. Regassed but turns out the compressor clutch isnt engaging? Garage thinks it might be electrical, but are going to do some research (not a Toyota garage but reliable independent). Anyone come across this?

Hi everyone! As I'm a bit new on the forums and have already asked quite a few questions, I thought it's time to contribute something back So here's an ongoing review of an XTRONS Android head unit I fitted this weekend. I'll update as I go along and share my experiences. Part one: Why I chose this headunit Part two: Ease of installation and impressions of the hardware Part three: First impressions Part four: Every day experience Hope people find it helpful! Thanks for this info. Mine has developed an intermittent fault where sound won't come through the left channel until you change the balance in the equaliser. Doesn't happen often enough to bother me, but I think it makes me less likely to recommend this unit on basis of longevity given your experience to. Sent from my HD1903 using Tapatalk

Hi Have had a problem with my whiteline camber bushes. At some point a crush washer on the passenger side camber bolt worked itself loose which resulted in the nut flying off. Having lost confidence in them, I asked my garage to remove the whiteline camber bolts and put the standard ones back in. Unfortunately the driver's side one is well and truly stuck in there, so instead the mechanic fixed the passenger side whiteline component using a new bolt which he had to cut to the right size. I feel a bit conflicted now about what to do. Do I cross my fingers and hope it's all OK? Do I go and get the geometry redone and risk another bit breaking? Argh! Should have gone for camber adjustable lower control arms... classic case of trying to save some money only then having to spend more to rectify it when the cheaper option goes wrong. Any suggestions welcome. Sent from my ONEPLUS A5000 using Tapatalk
