Hi all, My front bumper is starting to develop a panel gap on both sides, think it's a common problem with these. Is there a fix for this that doesn't include drilling / quick release installs? Thanks

Yep - they are -
I have for sale a pair of used TRD Style (Replica) side skirts to fit both pre-facelift and facelift GT86/BRZ. There are some slight cracks to the side skirts as shown in the pictures. One is worse than the other. You could use as is if not fussy, or repair. I have the hardware required to install (U-Clips, bolts, extra 3M tape). I did not need to drill any holes to fit these, so the modification is completely reversible should you wish to go back to stock. They are painted in the factory colour H8R orange. I have had them on my car for ~10 months. Looking for £150 ono These will be collection only - or could meet and sell at japfest. They will fit in a GT86 with the seats down. Please PM me if you have any questions.

I have exactly that setup, but I'm in Kent. This is what it sounds like: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gCkkOnNcISw

I ordered the TD UEL Manifold and fitted it myself, then had it mapped by Abbey and got the HKS drop in air filter along side it. My car passed it's MOT for the 3rd time since running this tune and setup last week. You do need to make sure the secondary cat in the front pipe is still there, and it needs to be warmed up to a decent temperature for the car to pass on emissions.

I bought the Tuning Developments UEL Manifold when there was a sale and had it shipped to me, then fitted the manifold myself (Not an overly difficult job to be honest), and took it to Abbey Motorsports for the EcuTek license + dyno tune. It does save money and is also a good option if you live many many hours away from Tuning Developments.

I'll potentially come to this, but I cannot download the pass - it does not open.

Hi all, I have decided to make this post as I'm not aware of many people who have gone down this route - hopefully will provide some help/feedback to anyone who has been considering this. I must stress that this is not a guide on how to install the manifold (how to do that is readily available online), I am just sharing my own experience. I reached out to Mike from TD and ordered the Unequal Length manifold they offer to be shipped to me - it is well known that this manifold produces good results and is highly recommended by others online, but due to work commitments and location, it was not easy for me to commit to a journey to TD in Warrington. My first job was to get an additional gasket and a set of bolts as I did not choose to get an aftermarket overpipe, then I purchased some DEI titanium exhaust wrap and wrapped the "downpipe" section between the manifold and overpipe pieces. With the exhaust wrap applied, removing the OEM manifold was the next job. This was not as hard as anticipated - I bought this 3-IN-ONE Professional High Performance Penetrant Spray from Halfords and sprayed some on all the bolts. I left this to soak in a bit and unplugged the o2 sensors and the bolts came off without much struggle. All in all, the whole DIY removal and installation took about 2 hours. Thoughts so far? Even without a remap (I am booked in to get this done at Abbey soon), the car feels noticeably more responsive. I feel a big improvement in torque around 3-4k RPM. I also love the exhaust note it makes (I am running this manifold with a HKS drop in air filter, Cobra resonated catback exhaust and stock overpipe/frontpipe). I am yet to get the CEL but it has only been a day and I'm sure this will come until I get the remap. All in all I am very very pleased with the outcome and am looking forward to getting the remap. Will post some results as soon as I have them.

DIY Tuning Development UEL Manifold review
sazabiskythe replied to sazabiskythe's topic in Modifications
Yes it’s 181. Accidentally cropped too much. Here is a better picture which is rotated as well. I’m very happy with the results, very big improvement in everyday driving. Having had this setup for a few months now I am considering getting a different catback system though as I am finding the cobra resonated paired with this to be quite loud.- 15 replies

DIY Tuning Development UEL Manifold review
sazabiskythe replied to sazabiskythe's topic in Modifications
@knightryder I have, and it doesn't look like there is much room either way. I may look into one of the silicon hoses with a resonator + sound generator delete in the future. In the meantime @Rich, where did you buy those reflective heat pads from? I may have to do what you've done as even with the titanium exhaust wrap it feels quite hot.- 15 replies

DIY Tuning Development UEL Manifold review

Oh i forgot to add, does anyone know what this is below? It looks like it gets very close (almost touching) the downpipe section. Sits underneath the stock induction hose.- 15 replies

Ah yes, I have yet to install mine yet but it looks like it gets quite close to the induction hose.

Worth noting that the TD package also includes the heat wrap for the section connecting to the overpipe and a (K&N?) drop in air filter. I know the air filter adds a very small amount of power, though not sure the heat wrap has much significance - someone else can confirm this
-
The ecutek license and map will cost you about £500 all in. The lowest cost of the cobra manifold I have seen is £560. You're already at over £1000 with that alone in parts, so the TD package is very good value for money for what it's worth. I did consider the cobra manifold myself but saw very little reviews/tuning/dyno results on it so was skeptical; there are a number of cheaper manifolds on the market but not sure if they will give you the performance you want. I have taken the plunge on the TD UEL manifold and had it shipped to me. I have it booked in at Abbey for a tune soon - don't think many have done this so will be interesting to see how the results compare to those who take their cars to TD and have it fitted + mapped by them as well.

My car is due a service in March so I called up to get a quote on service costs. Beadles Toyota quoted me £231 for intermediate and £391 for full. What prices are others getting for main dealer servicing? (I'm in the south east if that makes a difference) Also happy to take any recommendations. Oh and they quoted me £129 for a R1234y aircon regas - booked this in as this seems a good price for the more expensive gas. Any thoughts?
-
@Captain Duff you are indeed correct. A month after the regas the aircon was blowing completely warm air again - took it back to motorline Toyota and they had then identified a leak in an aircon pipe. They fixed this under warranty and regassed again free of charge and my aircon has been blowing cold since then.

Unfortunate about the weather, but nice to meet you guys!

I’d like to join this too, will get to the pub for 08:00

These look really nice. How much were the lights shipped to the UK after taxes? Are they european spec lights?
