Guess who's back... New vvt hub New vvt solenoid New valve assy-oil control Will be having another "run-in" period with it until I'm confident that the fault is no more! Mostly covered under warranty, there was a charge for additional labour & sundries but I'm very happy with Eaglesham Garage. Not so impressed with Subaru UK who don't seem to have any guidance on this fault though, most of the technical info came from Stu, Fensport & ft86club!

Week 3 and a milestone has been achieved! I am now under 15 and a half stone, 15st 6lbs to be exact (97.9kgs). I have now lost 12lbs (5.4kg) in total Mrs fatrab has lost another 4lbs (1.8kg) this week too, bringing her total to 11lbs (5kg) This weeks plan is to cut out the rest of the "bad" foods, I had 2 fry ups and 2 take aways through the week, but had porridge every other morning and some fish as a snack before a proper lunch (meat & veg). I've also agreed to go out walking with a mate who's in training as he's walking the West Highland Way in aid of another charity. So that starts on Tuesday, 3 times a week. Hopefully I can break the 1 stone barrier by next Saturday!

Really like those rear lights Ian, very smart! The smoke version of the Valenti lower bumper light is also on my to do list.

I've lost 0.8kg A poor effort by anyone's weights & measures!

And this mornings weigh in........ 15st 8lbs Kind of hoped I'd have lost a bit more than this tbh but at least its still going in the right direction. Give me some abuse at your leisure .......

Just wanted to post an update, if Jan and I hit our target of 10kgs each we stand to bring in well over £1000 so far (and we haven't seen half the folk we know yet!) for Macmillan from the sponsorship we have had from everyone on the forums, our colleagues, close friends and family. I can't thank you guys enough for your support on this. Thank you

Right idea but wrong location! Needs to be somewhere central, in the midlands ..... I think Deacon suggested Gaydon Motor Museum, might be a good meeting point?
-
It's 8/6, can't take that away from you Toyota freaks! Nothing set in stone yet Rob, need to speak to various people and see what the options are as I think certain Toyota locations are off bounds unfortunately.
-
Does anyone know if that poly bush is compatible with the auto? I had asked Adrian at the Fensport meet but he was going to check it out and I haven't spoken to him since; it's been on my to-do list since I first saw it. Suppose I better add the subframe inserts too then ........

Thread revival time!!! I'm thinking it's time to start planning for this now so please get your thinking caps on! As 8/6 falls on a Sunday I was thinking we could do an event on the Saturday evening, followed by the usual pleasantries, then a Toyota based day out on the Sunday? Thoughts and suggestions welcomed

Thank you Keith!! And thanks for the words of support!! Anyone volunteering to stand guard at the kebab van in Reading to keep me away from it all week? absolutelyf*****starving.com

Thank you both very much The Macmillan nurses were great with my Mum when my Dad was in his final stages and my Mum has asked me to raise what I can so she's in for a shock when I tell her about this today!! Cheers everyone, I'm going to need you all to encourage me over the coming weeks, I'm sure I can depend on you to get stuck into me if things start to slip!!

I'd like to think the 1kg per week is achievable but I'll be happy with whatever I can do, however laying down the gauntlet to Mrs fatrab will be like a red rag to a bull!! Thanks Dave lol Thank you Richard & Rob this will give me the motivation I have been needing for a while to shift the weight!
-
WOW!!!! Thank you very much Dave, that is so generous of you. That alone gives me a massive amount of incentive!!!! Is this a bad time to mention - I'm hungry

Unsure, but they said there's a plunger/valve within the VVTi which controls oil flow - that's what they suspect is sticking
