Hello, A stone chip has broken my windscreen. The windscreen place has got one in and I'm just looking for a time to get it fitted. On Facebook Jay mentioned that a fitting kit is needed. Anyone had theirs done and able to give some more details so that I can go back to the windscreen company fully armed with all the info. Don't really want them turning up, taking my old screen out then finding they can't do it after all! Cheers!

Bit random but I noticed there seems to be quite a big gap between the edge of the windscreen pillar and the wing since I've had a new screen fitted - wondering if they've 'forgotten' to re fit something. Does this look right?

Like for like is definitely worth it. I used to work for a brokers. Most insurers will only replace with standard spec parts. So for instance if you had a front impact and needed 2 new front shocks even if you had coilovers fitted all around they'd only want to replace them with standard spec shocks and then it would be down to you to replace the coilovers. With like for like they (should) replace modified parts with the same parts (subject to availability obviously).

It's the price of the car brand new plus the price of the mods brand new. I know the buyer wouldn't have to pay the fiting but still I can't see you have much chance of selling at that price. Better as others have said to split the parts (or price more realistically - about £20-25k?)
