  3. You might want to look at the 17x7.5" Fox FX005's just over 7kg a corner and a brand new set can be picked up for about £450. They also look pretty good

    Catted header sound

From what it says on the video it appears to be this catback https://www.torqen.uk/toyota/toyota-gt86/exhausts/exhaust-systems/3846-toyota-gt86-corsa-performance-25-cat-back-exhaust-dual-rear-exit-with-single-45-black-pro-series-tips--14864blk.html

    Catted header sound

Think most of the 'sound' is coming from the catback. Catted header with rest oem doesn't make much difference

    Disks and pads.

Stoptech centric blank discs are a good upgrade over oem while being a little cheaper at the same time.

    Schroth Rallye 3 ASM harness

Isn't that one different though as it has a different part number to the one mentioned in this thread?

    Budget - more power

A manifold and having the car mapped again is your cheapest option. The Tuning Developments manifold is probably the most commonly used here and produces good gains. There are lots of brands of manifold out there and you can pick a used manifold up for around £400-600 usually as the most budget friendly option.
  15. I'm putting my track wheels up for sale. They are Konig Daylite wheels in 17x7 et40. Konig state the weight of the wheels as 6.5kg a wheel (it's even stamped on the face). When I first got them, on my bathroom scales, I weighed them at a little under 7kg each. The wheels are fitted with Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2's in 215/45/17. The wheels are in very good condition, there is no kerbing but there are a few small stone chips on the yellow rim on the wheel. The tyres all have approximately 5mm of tread left (new, the cup 2's don't have much more). The cheapest new price I can find for the cup 2's in this size is £123 each delivered (+ fitting). I'm asking for £600 for the wheels and tyres, including centre caps, spigot rings and I'll throw in a set of yellow open ended wheel nuts that complement the yellow rim. I'm located on the West Mids / Staffs boarder and these are collection only. Any questions please ask. And a couple of pictures on the car

    Steering wheel issue

It looks very similar to the marks my mom used to get on her wheel when she used to put a steering lock on (one of the full cover ones).

Crunching into gears - Warranty Issue

Mine was the third to fourth shift at high rpm. If I remember correctly they replaced all the parts concerned with the third to fourth shift. Sent from my ONEPLUS A3003 using Tapatalk

    Life after 5 year old

You need to speak to James for the centric blanks, the Stoptech listed are the grooved, etc ones which are more expensive. Personally I wouldn't use the EBC stuff but many do Sent from my ONEPLUS A3003 using Tapatalk

Speak to James at Amber Performance for Stoptech centric blank discs (about £100 an axle) add some decent road pads (about £150 front and rear) then either fit them yourself or pay someone a couple of hours labour to do it for you, either way should come in comfortably under £700!

    GT86 Day

Donnington outside the museum part could be good as there is loads of parking but I have no idea of costs. Curborough is cheap to rent for the day and has loads of parking space for cars so could also be a good central option
  22. I'm selling these genuine Rays Duraluminum wheels nuts which have been on my 86. They have some tiny marks on them from fitting and removal as you can see on the picture. On the partbox website the updated versions of them sell for between about £150 and £180 for the set. I'm looking for £75 collected or I can post at buyers expense. I'm located on the West Mids / South Staffs border and regularly travel to Bedford and Tewkesbury so could also arrange to meet up to save the postage costs. Any questions please ask.

Reliability putting me off the 86.

To address some of the issues you've mentioned the rust is near the front quarter light not the rear and is a very minor issue remedied on the build of the later cars. Rust under the bonnet strip seems hit and miss, some simple protection seems to avoid the issue or, if the car is affected, the part is very cheap to replace. Oil leaks generally come from the cam plate cover at the rear of the engine. This can be resealed or a better quality plate fitted (also a cheap part). The engine issues you've identified are rare and mainly confined to fi cars apart from the coil packs but even that isn't that common (I've never had one go in over 5 years of ownership and my car has been tracked quite regularly). The fuel pump can be a little noisy but again that doesn't cause any issues itself. A lot of the engine problems you've mentioned seem more common on the US forums. In over 5 years of active membership of the forums I can probably count on the fingers of one hand the amount of times people have had issues with those things (apart from the coil pack which is a little more common but again isn't a majorly expensive fix). If you're interested in an 86 I'd genuinely not let any of the issues you've highlighted put you off as in the vast majority of cases they are simple non issues.
