So you've got rid of the ohlins altogether @Mark-in-Stoke? What dampers are the lowering springs on - oem ones?

That diffuser 😍😍😍 -
My current track wheels will be for sale soon. They're 17x7" et40. They're as very light at under 7kg a corner and they're shod with Michelin Cup 2's in 215/45/17. I haven't tried them over the AP BBK but if you were interested I'm sure I could arrange with @will300 to check the fitment? It's these wheels below (Konig Daylite)

@Mikey P and @Whitey29 shall I bring these to the rearranged Sunday service or would you like me to get postage prices? -
Rockingham was the first track I ever drove on in anger. It's good but the wall is a bit close! However, it's like an ice rink if it's wet so I wouldn't fancy it if I wasn't pretty much certain of a dry day.

I focused on the bit where you said you wanted good winter tyres. For the bit of extra cost you get something well recommended and used by quite a lot of people on the 86/brz. My journey home last night would have been a total nightmare without them. It was quite entertaining though seeing the puzzled looks on other drivers of why they couldn't get anywhere but my 86 wasn't having any problems!

I haven't looked that much to be honest. I've seen a few fail with fi but I don't remember seeing na failed ones.

Yep, catted manifolds and track work don't seem to mix well. From what I'd read before I knew it was likely to be a case of when and not if for it failing so it wasn't altogether unexpected.

I was thinking we probably had a fairly similar set up so was going to message you about how you'd got on

I had a few exhaust tweeks done at Rogue Motorsport this week the main one of which was swapping the 2nd oem cat for a high flow item. While Rogue were doing the work they found that the cat in my JDL manifold had come out and got itself rammed into the overpipe! They replaced the overpipe for me and also reworked the catted manifold to make it into a catless version. Couple of pictures below:- And the reworked manifold and high flow sports cat in place:- Below is a video clip of the car at startup and low speed manoeuvring (not a cold start):- And a video running through the rev range:- The video below is how it previously sounded recorded using the same camera and mic set up:- As you can see it's a little louder now but not massively so. I'm not sure how it'll get on with Bedford's noise limits but I had a reasonable amount of headroom before so I'm hoping it'll be OK. If not then I'll look to have a resonator added to the second cat pipe.

Mishimoto red intake hose for sale with original box. As you can see from the pictures it's in excellent condition. I'm looking for about £60 plus postage. I'm based on the West Mids / South Staffs boarder and regularly travel to Bedford so I'm happy to meet up to save the postage costs.

Not noticed any change on that front and I've done three decent length motorway journeys since they were fitted the other day.

I also had the rear cusco under brace fitted and the cusco front steering rack braces. I'd picked these up as I saw that the GRMN edition uses something very similar so I figured if Toyota saw a worth in them and as they didn't cost a great deal, they were probably worth a try. I can't tell any obvious effects of the rear brace bar (and didn't really expect to be able to to be honest) but the effects of the steering rack braces seem quite noticeable. The initial steering response is sharper now which makes sense I guess as the slack which would have taken up some of the initial movement is now reduced. Rear brace bar:- Front steering rack braces:-

Obviously you're going to get biased answers on here but here's my 2p The Merc will be a good cruiser. Ideal if that's what you're after but not so much for fun. The mk7 gti will be an excellent all rounder, both practical and relatively fun. The 86 will be lots of fun (especially if you go on track - and anyone with an 86 who doesn't take it on track at all is really missing out imho), massively involving and will allow you to develop as a driver but won't be as comfy or as practical as the gti. It really depends what you want the car for really as to what's the best choice for you.
