    Midlands lunch meet 28/10/17

Good to meet everyone today both old and new. Shame about the idiot from the restraunt at the end - I've emailed them to suggest it's maybe not the way to speak to people who've just spent over £300 with them!

Couple of updates. Had another day on track at Bedford this week and managed to improve further:- It was my first track day with the oil cooler fitted and the temperature didn't exceed 107° all day. My cam plate also finally arrived from Velox after being stuck in customs:- Should sort out the cam plate leak once and for all! Finally my car has been at Cooksport most of the week as they have taken over as Moton and Ast suspension in the UK. My suspension has been fully serviced and some factory updated parts have been fitted along with revalving the fronts and some changes to spring rates and lengths. The difference is quite noticeable with the ride quality in particular being improved. I'll look forward to seeing what effect this has on track next year as Cooksport are quite confident it will be a noticeable change for the better.
  7. Just wanted to say a big thumbs up for Greenlight. Had my renewal through and, while it had increased as insurance seems to have recently, it had only gone up by £16 to £440 which seems pretty decent to me considering the about 55 modifications listed on the car! The track day cover has also been fantastic - seems difficult to beat at £45 a time and double excess. If you fit the Greenlight criteria and your renewal is due I'd definitely give them a try 👍

That final question is where it all gets a bit hazy sadly.

Also, it's not so much the idea that the mods cause the accident more that the cover they provide is based on the detail of the car and mods so they can make life very difficult if the details of the car and mods are different come the time of an accident. When I worked for the brokers I saw companies do anything from charging a retrospective premium to refusing the cover as their argument was that what they'd covered wasn't a true reflection of the actual car.

Most things don't change the premium at all with a specialist insurer. For me the minimal effort of making sure they know everything is worth it for the potential of no hassle down the line 👍

Having worked in insurance previously I'd never miss anything off to be honest!

Cheers. Yeah it is a shame covering the back. There are some 'drivers' style perforated straps I've seen that I think would look really good and also save covering the back.
