That's the filled down picture?

I may also fit the mocal sandwich plate spacer. I just need to check the measurements to ensure this will give the hard-line plenty of clearance.
-
It's a 19 row cooler and 80° tstat
-
Got to be worth at least 5bhp

[Europe] Good exhaust note for less than 700€? Or something else?

Where your money is best spent depends on what your priorities are - noise (catback) or power (manifold and map) -
Bringing this thread back a bit with an update. I had my oil pressure and temperature gauge fitted before I had my cooler fitted to decide if I should go ahead with the cooler or not. I also had the oil changed to Millers Nanotech 0W30. At Bedford I was easily seeing temperatures hitting 120 within about 3 laps (including a warm up lap) so I decided I would go ahead with the cooler fitting. Temperature readings are taken from the sump. The cooler fitting was a bit of a ballache for various reasons. @Ade had mentioned that the oil lines are very tight with the airbox and he was spot on. Rogue had to do some tweeks to get everything sitting properly. The sandwich plate 'bolt' is also very tight to the fuel hard lines (again as @Ade mentioned earlier) although doesn't appear to rub. This may be because of the airbox mods rogue made though and without having them this could definitely be an issue. I have some zircotec metal heat protection 'film' which I am going to stick onto the hard line to minimise any chance of rubbing damage too. The other installation issue came from the brackets Hel supply. They simply don't work for mounting the kit on the 86. Rogue custom fabricated some brackets for the cooler and it sits pretty much in the centre of the bumper now (they basically copied the install position, etc of their race cars). I don't have logs of data so much of this relies on my memory but, from the numbers I've seen on the gauge pre and post cooler, it hasn't made a massive difference to the temperatures in 'normal' driving. There is no discernible drop in oil pressure and the temps seem to be broadly similar. It does take a little longer to warm up though. However, on A roads and the motorway in clear air you can see the temperature leveling off and even dropping to stay around the 95-105 range so I would imagine that the benefits will be quite noticeable on track.

Let me know too please 👍 -
How are you measuring the temp? That seems quite low.
-
50 bhp na is never going to happen without cams, throttle bodies, etc costing shed loads. Best option is a map, a drop in filter and a manifold. If you want more than that gives FI is the way to go.
-
It's obviously better when new but can be applied whenever as long as you clean the surface off. It won't gaurantee no corrosion but will help 👍
-
They have a paint type coating on but it comes off in places (from the set I had mainly around the top mounts and bottom bracket / mounting). I was surprised how much rust there was within less than a year on the set I had in these areas.
-
Yes that's the stuff. It's for anything - they use it on planes and helicopters! I'd probably spray some on a cloth and just give them a good wipe over 👍
-
@HariboPenguin and @Cerastes I'd strongly suggest getting yourself some ACF50 and giving them a good coating before installation. They seem to rust up quite a bit.
-
I need to get mine done too for exactly the same reasons
-
Haha! That's awesome - I want one!
-
Mine was 83 at Bedford with the HKS and JDL catted uel manifold so also be interesting to see what yours is
-
Bedford's loads of fun imho and not much to worry about hitting!
-
When you're back in work if you can find out about this and the price that would be appreciated 👍
-
@Lucas@PartBox it was specifically the greddy one I was interested in - if you don't currently have it in stock would it still get the discount?
-
Do you have / can you get the greddy diff cover @Lucas@PartBox? https://www.torqen.uk/toyota/toyota-gt86/powertrain/differentials/4199-toyota-gt86-greddy-high-capacity-differential-cover-14510400.html

It's Steve's BRZ (@BRZ2) I think the engine has the usual bolt ones.
