  1. I'm sure @will300 will get back to you soon - think he's down at Silverstone on Sunday so maybe that could help your journey a bit 👍

The pod is about as long as the gauge so it'd need the whole inside taking out by 1mm which I think would be tricky. How much overlap into the pod would the alcantara need to be stuck down safely? Wondering if I could dremel it out just that distance.

After getting lost in the post and having to be resent by dash vent gauge pod finally arrived today. I fitted the SPA gauge in just to make sure it fitted and it's a very tight fit. I was going to ask @AJ124 to wrap it in alcantara to match my dash panels, etc but sadly I think the fitment will be too tight to allow this so now I need to decide what to do with it ahead of fitting. I've decided I'm going to get the gauge fitted first and gather some date on what the oil temperature and pressures are actually doing before I decide whether to go ahead with the oil cooler fitting.
  4. @Collateral these are for sale and are a lovely looking wheel in a good fitment for a very good price. Sale is nothing to do with me but I do know @will300 well and how well he looks after his wheels!

Tein Monosport or SRC owners ?

Yes but most will with out crappy road salting. I'd give them a good coating in acf50 before fitting if I ever went with Teins (or anything else to be honest) again.

Once they're fitted you won't see it anyway 👍 😬

Honestly though Flex A's would get my recommendation if you're mostly using the car on the road.

HKS GT's have weird spring rates. BC are standard, cheap Taiwanese dampers. Fine for general use if a bit harsh but there are better options out there 👍 All imho of course.

If you find the Street Flex ok you should definitely try the Flex A's - they're a considerable step up in ride quality. I'm not sure if you're familiar with NigelR32's build but on his road car he had both the original ohlins kit and the flex A's and said he thought the flex A's were better for road use.

I'll just say that their customer service is excellent and all my money was refunded.
  12. It suggests on pistonheads that they'd like us there a little before 8.30

Tein Monosport or SRC owners ?

I'd imagine they'd be fairly similar to my Motons - excellent low speed damping but high speed a little harsh so excellent for track but not so great for the road. @Rich has Tein Flex A's with edfc which may be worth a try if you're looking for predominantly road use?

The SRC's are priced without springs so that adds to the cost a bit. Not bad on the lowering front at all then.

I thought they were 40mm min lowering as I know they're considerably shortened cases. If you can raise them back to 20mm that's not too bad at all. Yeah not cheap, before I got my Motons I priced up a set as about £3.5k including springs.

@Keethos @KevinA @Mike? I don't think there's anyone with SRC's @thetyrant. Unless you're tracking a lot I'm not sure they'd be that great an idea if for no more reason than the 40mm drop can make navigating roads, speedbumps, etc a bit of a nightmare.

On the subject of brake hoses I've done about 75 miles since Moton tightened up the passenger side hose and had a good chance to have a look tonight. Good news is that it does appear it just wasn't quite tightened properly as there was no sign of any brake fluid. I also got my girlfriend to sit with her foot on the brake pedal for a while while I looked and still no signs of any fluid so hopefully that problem is sorted. The brakes definitely feel much better for having the hose properly tightened and now feel as if expected them to feel when they were installed.

Haha! No worries. I too had watched the video 😂

We tried that while I was at Moton and it didn't seem to be an issue. I also seem to remember somewhere the suggestion that if you do track the car treating the lines as consumables to change every few years is a good idea so I'd probably go brand new OEM too I think. See how the hels get on for a bit.

I'll do the same of I have further issues. Will you refit your existing OEM hoses @Ade or fit new OEM? Sure I read somewhere it's better to fit new than refit ones that have been removed but I may be misremembering.

The front toe should make it a little more pointy but also a little unstable in a straight-line / under braking. The rear toe should make it more stable and heat the rear tyres quicker I understand.

Alignment wise it's:- -1°.50' camber rear +0°.09' toe rear -2°.30' camber front -0°.06' toe front +5°.58' castor front I've not got rear lca's but have the whiteline camber bushes which seem to have enough adjustment for the settings I want.

Looks like Hel have done an uprated fixing too so should just be a warranty swap if there is a problem. Cheers again for the heads up @knightryder

Technically any claim could affect your ncb I guess but I protect mine so shouldn't be so much of an issue. Obviously insurance companies will use whatever policy you've claimed on as an excuse to bend you over though come renewal 😞

As do the goodridge from when I was looking before. This does simply seem to be a case of them not being properly tightened when installed though thankfully but I will be keeping an eye on them for the next few weeks to be double sure!
