That was my problem at Oulton when I'd meant to try it originally!
-
I'd wait until you do the wheels then 👍

Michelin Pilot Sport 4's are very well regarded on the 86. As for tyre size that really depends if you're going to change the wheels.
-
If you go the rear camber bushes route get the whiteline ones not the ones Lauren has as the whiteline ones are adjustable on the car and so are far, far better.
-
Welcome on board! You definitely have to get it out on track - they're sooooo much fun on track!

Gave the car a clean on Sunday day ready for Blyton Park next weekend. I used Chemical Guys Butter Wet Wax which I haven't used on the 86 before but was a big fan of on my last car. It's not the most durable wax but it gives a beautiful shine as this reflection in the boot lid hopefully shows Pretty cheap, easy to apply and good results - I'll definitely use it again on the 86.

Wheels arrived today to go with the PS4's. They are Autec Wizards in 18x8" et35. The wheels weigh 9.6kg's each. The ps4's in 225/40/18 also weigh 9.6kg so the combined package is 19.2kg a wheel and tyre. Definitely not the lightest but also not terrible and not a million miles from the stock wheel and tyre combos weight. I bought these to use as my summer road wheels and wet track duty after seeing them on a car at Santa Pod recently and really liking the way they looked so in that sense weight wasn't really a driving force (otherwise I'd have stuck with my usual choice of 17's). I've never had 18's on my 86 so I'll be interested to see if there's any noticeable difference. They'll either be on the car this weekend or next depending on what the weather is looking like for the club blyton park event.

Welcome on board 😀 It may be worth giving a little more information on what you want to use the car for as this might affect the suggestions people make. For instance if you are looking to make this a track car you'd obviously have different requirements to if you were looking to just 'hardpark' your car at shows. Another thing to consider is just how much peoples tastes differ - some people may suggest some mods but they wouldn't actually fit with your tastes. The other thing is it's sometimes difficult to know what you want for definite - for me wheels are a good example - I'm on my sixth set now and still not entirely sure on exactly what I want! 😂

My spec L with stock 2nd cat and JDL catted manifold measured higher than Ade's exhaust set up did but having listened to Ade's video I'd say it's definitely quieter. Problem is probably that unless they're all measured with the same equipment in exactly the same way the measurements won't be the greatest for comparison purposes.
-
That's where I got mine from @don 👍
-
Yep never understood this - makes it such a random measurement under the current system. I'm pretty sure that the RSR's I had before we're something like treadwear 240 and they're massively softer than the Cup2's rated at 180. Seems to just be a case of 'pick a number. Any number'.

Man maths at its finest! 😂
-
No problem. Tyre guru seems the cheapest I can see so far. Stock size seems to be more than I paid for the ones I got though!
-
Definitely available. Few places with them below:- http://www.mytyres.co.uk/cgi-bin/rshop.pl?dsco=110&typ=R-300291&partner=1&ID=psm_rd_uk_tyrereviews&Country=UK https://www.tyres-guru.co.uk/cgi-bin/rshop.pl?dsco=320&typ=R-300291&partner=1&ID=psm_rdg_uk_tyrereviews&Country=GUK http://lovetyres.com/tyre/Michelin-Pilot-Sport-4/215-45-17

The treadwear ratings are not a standardised rating though sadly so comparing across manufacturers may not give a particularly great comparison.
-
I've never had any problems with this - usually use my local ATS.
-
You should be able to get them from any of the usual tyre places - black circles, oponeo, love tyres, etc
-
Tread wear is 320. Cup2's were next to them so I had a look at theirs for comparison - they're 180.
-
These arrived today and I'm looking forward to seeing what all the fuss is about!
-
Another 86 for most of the video

I posted this on the FB group but thought it was worth posting on here for any non fb'ers. Absolutely awesome engine spec on this super taikyu car. That noise and 8.5k rpm shifting 😍
