I'd guess meter differences maybe? Have to try yours with my dB meter and see what it says
-
Grabbed a couple of dB readings for the HKS Spec-L with JDL manifold combo today. At start up (not a cold start though) it peaked at 86.9db. Held at about 5.5k rpm it was 96db. Should be no problem for pretty much any track which is good news. My girlfriend also recorded a couple of drive by videos for me. They're not the best as the wind noise is quite bad and she didn't do the greatest job following the car 😂 but they give an idea of how it sounds. Hopefully get some better clips with @will300 soon.

I was thinking this too...
-
OP said she was after forged though and the OZ's aren't.
-
With the new hooks folded in it shouldn't be too much of an issue but I wouldn't have wanted to run it like that with something like the stock tow hooks that are fixed.
-
Exactly my thinking sir.

No link but I've attached an image. I was going to make my own up after looking at them as I bet the official part is far from cheap!
-
I've never really been a private plate person but this seemed appropriate and was cheap so I thought why not!
-
I'd looked into getting the fixing they use on the Japanese RC spec cars.

@Keethos has come to the rescue with some templates so that's another little project to try.
-
Yep, that's what I have been using 👍

Some more goodies arrived today. I'm not very keen on having to pop out the bumper tow hooks covers when I go on track (I'm quite clumsy and know it won't be long before I gouge out half the bumper trying to get them out!). So, to address this, I've got hold of a front and rear tow hook and replacement bumper tow covers which I plan to drill and grommet so that the tow hooks can remain installed on the car. If anyone has any genius suggestions as to how to establish exactly where the holes in the bumper covers need drilling I'm all ears!

First video is cold start to normal and a couple of revs to about 3k and 4k rpm:- Second video is in car up to a max of about 6.5k rpm:-

Fitted the exhaust and Valenti centre light today with the help of @will300 Exhaust went on pretty easily - the rear hangers were the worst part. Valenti light was a bugger though as we had real problems removing the stock light. In terms of the volume I was a bit concerned how it'd end up combined with the manifold but I needn't have worried it's pretty much as I'd hoped - quiet. I'll add some videos when I can but if you think OEM style sports exhaust you'd pretty much be there. I'll definitely have no trouble with any track noise limits.
-
I also weighed the HKS Spec-L exhaust ahead of fitting it tomorrow. It came out as 10.7kg. I seem to remember stock being around 20kg so a useful saving, even if it is at the back which isn't the greatest place for it.

The main problem was printing the template out to the correct scale to be honest. I also had problem with one hole not quite lining up properly and needing to be taken out a little.
-
OEM armrest fitted today. It was a bit of a git to be honest and drilling holes into my car is never going to be my favourite thing!

I was just saying that OZ are a top wheel manufacturer. XXR not so much. But I definitely understand your desire to keep the stock ones mint 👍 I always say you can never have too many sets of wheels and if orange xxrs are what you want fancy do it!
-
What Oz wheels are you on? Oz to xxr is quite a downgrade!
-
Have you lowered it or are you going to? Bigger wheels and stock suspension can look a bit awkward.

Both the ad08r and the Cup2's are a lot more road biased than most of the other stuff in 1b which is a shame. I know the 595 RSR's I had had way more grip than the Cup2's do. Looking at the 1b list I don't think either the Cup2's or the ad08r's would be my choice for competition. I'd love to try the AR1's though.

You'd be better off sticking with 17" wheels or even considering 16" wheels if you'd like a higher sidewall as the overall rolling radius needs to stay similar to stock otherwise it'll throw the speedo out significantly. 18" wheels will require a smaller sidewall due to the extra size of the wheel itself to maintain that same rolling radius.

AD08r are on the 1b list with my Pilot Sport Cup 2's so put you up in the pro class

That's not true. Adrian said you can and as it's a street tyre it would put you in the street class.
