I have a brand new, never fully opened or installed TRD style carbon strutbrace for sale. It's a lovely bit of carbon and super light because of that. I'm after £75 for it collected. I'm based on the West Mids / Staffs boarder but I'm also up and down to Bedford quite often, at the Midlands meet on the 18th, Prodrive on the 19th, Cheltenham on the 20th, Oulton Park on the 24th and RRG on the 25th of this month so could easily bring it to any of those locations. Any questions please ask.

I'll try and grab a clip tomorrow on my way back from work in the same place as the JDL clip. Should give a good comparison.
-
I am looking at a few options at the moment. I'm not 100% convinced it's worth the cost though for the difference it'll make. Will I really feel the difference of a few more horses?

I pinched Will and Keith's dyno pictures and put the three together as a comparison. Will's is at the top, mine in the middle and Keith's at the bottom. Spec wise Will has the Perrin CAI, and intake tube (Perrin too?), Ecutek map, ace cs400 manifold, stock second cat and avo catback Mine is JDL catted manifold, stock exhaust from the second cat back, Cosworth drop in filter, mishimoto intake pipe and ecutek map Keith has an intake (I think and not sure which?), Ecutek map, TD manifold, Berk HFC and cobra resonated cat back

That's really useful info thank you. To be honest my current plan is to swap the tips and enjoy the quiet for a while I think 😁
-
It is a bit. But without all the cats and with a catback it'd probably be around the 200 odd mark so pretty similar to Will and Keith's for their specs.

And the dyno plot. Green line is the last time my car was on the TD dyno with a hks drop in filter, mishimoto intake pipe, ecutek map and cobra non-resonated cat back. Red line is most recent plot with Cosworth drop in filter, mishimoto intake pipe, ecutek map, JDL catted manifold and stock exhaust from the overpipe back.

Big thanks to @Mike@TD.co.uk and Nick at TD today who fitted my Perrin shifter bush, stoptech centric discs, ferodo dot 5.1 brake fluid, project mu hc800+ pads, Hel brake lines (that turned up yesterday!), swapped the cobra non resonated cat back for the stock cat back, mapped the car to suit the JDL manifold and sorted out the undertray where the manifold was catching a little when cold. Brakes are still bedding in so I'll reserve judgement on them at the moment. The Perrin shifter bush seems a very worthwhile mod. Combined with the mtec springs, anarchy motive weighted shift knob and whiteline shift bushing the gear shift is really nice now. With the stock cat back back on (so JDL catted manifold, overpipe and stock second cat back) the car is now properly quiet although it has a nice rise in volume once past about 4/4.5k rpm and when booting it. Power and torque figures were probably about what you'd expect considering these cars always seem to produce less than the Toyota quoted figures and the two cats and stock cat back (I'll upload a copy of the dyno tomorrow). The driving experience is definitely improved though. Now, on the motorway, a slight flex of your right foot in 6th actually makes a genuine and noticeable difference rather than needing a downshift. The dyno plot also shows a noticeable increase in both power and torque once past about 5k rpm which should be nice for on track use. I'm not a 100% what I'll do on the catback front - I may well just change the stock tailpipes for something more to my preference and leave it as is. If I decide more noise would be nice I may get a custom non resonated centre pipe made up, as combined, with the stock back box, I think it'd work pretty well for giving just a touch more noise.

Took a quick video on my phone today (excuse the quality) showing the current volume of the exhaust set up with the JDL catted manifold, stock second cat and cobra non-resonated catback. It's too loud for track and I'm at Oulton soon so the stock catback is going on for a while. It's a shame as I really like the noise - there's just too much of it!

I've got Hel hoses, ferodo fluid, stoptech plain discs and project mu hc800+ to go on at the weekend. Will feed back once I've had chance to try them out.

Might be worth giving Nathan at Japex an email and sorting a group buy -
Part of it's just the same process as when you blow out of your mouth on a cold day - the hot gas hits the cold air and forms steam.

Lol! It'll only be 4 sets Nik!

Do you have a weight for it @Ade? Looks like there's quite a lot to it. -
Must be a reasonable chance with monster sport having brought out their 2.4l kit
-
Love the fact they've kept the fa20 too
-
I've got a catted manifold and stock second cat so once it's been mapped in a couple for weeks I'll post the dyno up. Butt dyno suggests it's definitely helped with the torque dip.
-
Yes. It still spikes on start up but quietens off much quicker. This is mine:- Qulaity isn't great as it's just my girlfriends phone recording it but you get the idea
-
Which kit have you gone for Mike?
-
New discs and fluid arrived today thanks to @James@Amber. Just waiting on the Hel lines and the upgrade kit will be all assembled. I've gone with plain stoptech centric discs, project mu hc800+ pads, ferodo 5.1 fluid and the aforementioned Hel hoses.
