There's quite a few of us in the Midlands / Staffordshire. Welcome on board 👍
-
Yes they are. Just be aware that they are a more involved install than a set of arms but they do have the added bonus of taking out some of the slop from the standard rubber bushes and I didn't notice any increase in nvh when I had these fitted and non of the other bushes I have now. I had the car at 60mm lower than stock at one point and they were still good enough to adjust the camber to where I wanted it.
-
Easily. It's what I've done. Just don't get the bushes like Lauren has as they can only be adjusted off the car. Get the whiteline ones which are on car adjustable.

Sounds epic @Keethos but no pictures for me either 😥

I really like the red calipers against the blue!

Sorry to say it but I also think they screwed up last year. My nephew pays more than you did on a boggo seat Ibiza, nice postcode, etc and he's a year older than you with ncb, etc
-
Then I think there were some failures with the 1st gen spc arms but they released an updated version which seem to be fairly issue free.
-
I think the Eibach ones are rebranded spc ones if I remember correctly

I'd like to pick up a couple of tow straps to fit for while the cars on track. I've done some googling and can't seem to find definitive answers over whether this is possible using the standard tow hole position and fixing in the front and rear bumpers. Anyone done it or know if it is doable?
-
Cheers Steve. It is the centre pipe I meant - I thought it was a long shot but figured it was worth the question 👍
-
Does anyone know if the stock centre pipe will fit with an aftermarket (cobra in this case) back box? Post manifold fitting I'm looking to quieten my exhaust and this would seem a simple solution. If it works.

A cheaper option that you could also consider is the whiteline upper camber bushes. These are adjustable on the car and much easier to set up than the superpro ones @Lauren mentioned. They're about £90 for a set iirc.

Looking on the US forum someone there had a custom adaptor made so it was basically an extension bar with a 16mm thread on end and a whole for a 13mm bolt the other. It saved you having to drill out the hole in the tow strap and from cutting the bumper foam.
-
I've sourced another OEM hook as this seemed like too much of a faff. Cheers all anyway 👍
-
Cheers Sam - I'd literally read that thread but he doesn't say what he did about opening up the hole in the tow strap bracket - the bolt is 16mm and the hole is 13mm. I'd guess it's just been drilled out but then I'd have concerns about it weakening the bracket too much. Also not keen on cutting the bumper foam. Some people seem to have used an extension tube with a 16mm thread one end and a 13mm thread the other but I'm not sure if these are something that they've made themselves or bought. I can't seem to find a source so I'm guessing they're custom which sadly is not something I have the tooling to produce.

A new Cayman turbo 2.5 engine would make an interesting transplant....
-
I think @Mike is formally welcoming you to the official suspension noises club! 😂
-
The drop links need to be set to take the preload off the arb. Unless they're miles off it shouldn't really be causing your noises though - can you see any signs anywhere of where anything may be rubbing?
-
Not yet - been away for a few days.
-
I've got one - you should have said and you could have borrowed it mate!
-
Yeah second cat and the JDL manifold cat!

My phone mic hasn't done the greatest job of capturing this but you can tell it's a touch loud on cold start. I'm glad (and I imagine my neighbours even more so) that I have the full cold start mapped out!
-
Did a good long run in the car today with the new manifold on. It's definitely improved the torque dip - really noticeable when accelerating on the motorway in 6th. Should be interesting to see the results after @Mike@TD.co.uk and Nick have worked their magic. It also makes an epic noise. But unfortunately too much of it for my taste - the combination of the manifold and the (already quite loud) non res cobra is too much for me (and, I fear, most tracks) so a new exhaust is on the cards I think.
-
It's not been mapped again yet but it's definitely reduced it. With mapping I think there'll be a massive improvement over stock.
