New manifold went on today. It sounds awesome but is a little loud. Think it'll need quietening a bit for track. It's a coated, unequal length, catted jdl manifold.
-
I'm on around -2.5 at the front and -1.8/2 at the rear with 0 toe front and a touch of toe in at the rear. This has been the set up I've used for about the last 2.5 years and seems to work well. No noticeable increase in tyre wear either.

What did you do about the striped threads?

SPL Suspension Parts From Tuning Developments
Deacon replied to Mike@TD.co.uk's topic in Tuning Developments
So much want @Mike@TD.co.uk 😍 -
I wonder how it stands for cars like the Leon cupra which can have the cup2's from the factory?
-
I would say the cup2's are far closer to a road tyre than a semi slick is what I was saying. I don't think I'd have them again as I've been disappointed in the grip compared to the RSR's. The main advantage the Cup2's have over the RSR's is wear - even after use this year they still have 5mm of tread left.
-
I've not tried the AD08R but I can say that the Cup2's have no where near the grip of the 595RSR's and feel far more like a normal road tyre in comparison.
-
As it's the Pilot Super Sport replacement I'd guess it'll be the same as whatever they are.

Dan's got the N1 now not the Tomei? -
I thought 19/20" too.

Yeah the ps4 is a great tyre and available in stock sizes. I was on about the ps4s though which is a new tyre to replace the supersports, is launched in january and isn't available in out sizes (yet).

The easiest thing to do is ask to be added to the Facebook group - Sprint and Trackday (banter / times / modifications / car chit-chat)
-
A lot of us are members of the Sprint and Trackday group. They run events throughout the year, usually one per month apart from December and January iirc. Last event of this year is on Tuesday but I'm not sure how many 86's are signed up for that.
-
Gutted I can't make it. Hope it all goes well and I'll look forwards to seeing the pictures 👍
-
I asked on the sprint group I'm a member of and they got good feedback and I know Sam has used them in the past and was quite happy with them so I figured they're worth a try.

I'm going to do brakes next year too. I've already got gt3 brake ducts on. I've got a set of project mu hc800+ pads waiting in the garage and I'm going to go with mtec front and rear discs, Hel lines and project mu fluid I think and see how that lot works for me.
-
The Ps4s is only going to be 19"+ on launch in January I believe. Not sure when sensible sizes will be available :-(

@Mike@TD.co.uk are stocking the SPL ones soon which are meant to be excellent and the velox ones from the states are also really well regarded.

Posted this on the other forum and forgot I hadn't put it here too (really need a post to both button...) Thought it may be of use in light of the other cobra thread. I got hold of a db meter to have a go at measuring how loud the cobra non res is after we used a fairly basic meter to measure a few at the last midlands meet. I positioned the meter on a tripod equidistant between the two tailpipes and level with them. These were the approximate readings I got:- Cold start up peak - 111db This fairly quickly settled to 99db Then settled again to 89db Eventually sat at 77db I'll get some static readings at 6k rpm when I can (couldn't do this to my neighbours on the drive way!) I'll also try and get some drive by figures (anyone know what sort of revs the car would generally be at when passing trackside meters?) Also arranging to meet up with Pitman and get some readings of his new set up and hopefully a few others. Will update this thread with new data as and when I get it.

It'll probably go on in a few months with the other bits and pieces I've got stacking up but I'll definitely update once it's on 👍

Another little thing to add to the waiting parts pile turned up today; Perrin shift bushing
