Spent some time at Moton today. We've changed the springs to a 7kg front and an 8kg rear. I've only driven back from Moton but initial impressions are very positive. The lower spring rates also seem to be working the cup 2's better as I definitely felt there was a noticeable increase in grip. The dampers have also been dyno'd. I've attached the graphs below as they may be of interest to some people.

I'm trying the project Mu 800hc+ as soon as I get round to fitting them!

These are the ones I have:- https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B00FWL4O9A/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1472206269&sr=8-1&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_FMwebp_QL65&keywords=thule+caravan+levellers

I did two days at Curborough this week and so had a good chance to try out the Motons and Cup2's. The Motons faired very well - even with them only stiffened around 50% they were fantastic on track - I never had the issue I used to find on the flex a's of wanting to go stiffer but having run out of adjustment. They also meant I could happily attack the kerbs. The cup 2's were also very good - not as grippy as the federals as they're a harder compound but much gripper than the sport contact 5's I tried last time. They also held up really well to the 32 degree heat on Tuesday and were OK in the damp/wet today allowing me to beat the time I'd previously done on the sport contact 5's in the dry.

I've got some thule caravan levelling ramps I use to give easy access for pretty much any jack. Think they were about £25 and I could get my car on them even when it was lowered 60mm

Looks awesome @Keethos!!!

Mine arrived yesterday too. Cheers for sorting it out gentlemen 👍

Initially it was also partially influenced by the fact the 86 had a 5 year warranty and the brz only a 3. The large discrepancy in servicing price has also probably played a part too. But, as others have said, it mainly relates to the production deal done between FHI and Toyota.

The diagram below hopefully shows what I was trying to explain about why there is more than 16 clicks (I'd guess around 30 ish if you did keep turning it) but why tein talk about 16. Basically the first x (14?) clicks don't do anything. The final 16 clicks (to full stiff) are then on a curve, rather than a linear relationship as they are on high end dampers, so the change to the damping rate between say 16 and 12 clicks will be a lot less of a change than between say 6 and 2 clicks which would give a big increase in damping rate. Hope that makes some sense!

No problem. When you get to full stiff it should stop and not turn anymore (you may get a little more after the last indent/click but not a full turn). Turn back to the first indent/click you get to and count back from there.
-
Turn them to full stiff and back off from there. I found around 9 clicks from full stiff was a fairly soft daily use setting, 7 clicks for a little stiffer daily use setting. As you turn the adjustment knob you should feel it sit in an indent - this is a click. The dampers have more than 16 clicks of adjustment but don't go past 16 from full stiff as it may damage the valving (although unlikely) and there's no real point as until the final 16 useable clicks it won't do anything to changing the dampers.

I run - 2.5 degrees front, - 2 degrees rear for the camber and 0 toe front and just a touch of toe in at the back. I've run these settings for just over a year on track and street and found them to be good.

Hello everyone. Me and couple of other midland's based members have decided we should do a breakfast meet again with a focus on suspension to help @Keethoschoose his new setup! We've agreed on a location we know and have had breakfast meets at in the past, details below. There is plenty of car parking space and its normally quiet on Saturday mornings. Also for those that haven't been to a Toby Cavery before its an all you can eat breakfast, for £6, with unlimited tea and coffee. After breakfast we could then maybe do a few passenger rides for people to sample different suspension set ups. Location & Time: Toby Cavery Watling Street, Norton Canes Cannock WS11 9ND From: 8:30 with breakfast at 9. Current List: 1. Will300 2. Deacon 3. Keethos

As long as the size and offset, etc is OK it's just a case of swapping them. It won't do great things for the ride or handling though!
-
Good to see everyone today and really interesting to try a few different set ups. As @MikeB said I wish I'd had chance to do that before the first suspension set up I purchased!
-
Cheers for the heads up @jamie_gt86. I'd have liked to have picked up the summit ones as they're a lot beefier but couldn't justify the over double cost. I'll see if I can get the boots swapped when they're fitted.

Best chance on another is probably a used one - I tried everywhere and could only find this last kit. The main symptoms is the extra roll that lowering produces because of the roll centre getting screwed up. The kit also sharpens the steering response up.
-
It was recommended to me by someone who tracks their brz a lot and said it makes a big difference. Seems most useful if you're lowered over 30mm and 40mm is the sweet spot for me so I figured every little helps. Summit also make a kit with even more correction but it's also well over twice the price of the Whiteline kit and to be low enough to take advantage of the extra correction would also make you low enough to be not great on track anyway.
-
Lack of sales seems to be the main reason from what I could find out.
-
I'll get some pictures up once they're done but it may be a few weeks as I want to investigate getting the stock ones replaced under warranty first.

Final bump and see you all in the morning :-)

Couple more bits arrived today. Big thank you to @James@Amber for the excellent service again. First are Perrin cam solenoid guards in red to match the other bits in the engine. Ordered these because my cam solenoid covers are suffering the rusting that seems so common and look unsightly so I wanted to do something about them. Not sure if the cam solenoid cover rust is a warranty issue? Second thing I was very lucky to get hold of - pretty sure this was the last set available new in the UK. Apologies for the dire picture - it's a Whiteline Roll Centre Correction kit which helps correct the geometry when the car is lowered Hoping to get the pads and roll centre kit fitted next week ahead of a couple of days at Curborough the week after when I can try out the Motons and Cup 2's properly.

There's definitely a theme!
