Tyres are on wheels now Only one wheel needed any balancing weights the rest were spot on which is pretty impressive
-
You can use torque to show these on an Android headunit too
-
Seems the tyres I ordered have gone up in price just a little... 🤔

Test driving a GT86 on Tuesday - Looking for some advice
Deacon replied to Portalfl0w's topic in Newbies
Only a very few 18" sizes are starting to appear in the S - it's really only 19" upwards in the UK currently -
I don't have steering wheel controls so not something I had to do sorry
-
How've you enabled the auto tether option @MartinT?
-
Gave the wheels a coat of Gtechniq C5 yesterday
-
I'm not turbo but run an oil cooler. If you're worried about running a bit cool just cover the cooler during the cooler months. I just use duct tape on the front bumper grill over the cooler.

Tyres ordered today for the Enkei's. I've taken a bit of a punt and gone with Maxxis Victoria Sport VS5's in 245/35/18. I chose these for a few reasons. In the Evo tyre test just gone they said they would have been the winning tyre but they didn't include them in the overall result due to them not being available for supply independently which the test rules require. They've also done very well in a recent TUV test and a recent Whatcar Australia test where they came joint third behind the Eagle F1 Supersports in second and the PS4S's in first (which would have been my number 1 choice had they been available in the right sizes). The final selling point is that they were £43 a corner cheaper than the same size Eagle F1 Supersports so, if the performance is anywhere near the tyres they've been tested against and the test results are accurate, they have the potential to be an absolute steal. I'm hoping they'll be on for Bedford on the 21st so they'll get a thorough try out on both road and track.

Happy to help you both 👍

Fingers crossed they'll be ready for next week. Plan is that the RPF1's will be fitted with some Goodyear Eagle F1 Supersports and used as road and track wheels. Konig's will have some AR1's fitted.

After collecting the wheels the car was filthy (Waze sent me down what effectively became a dirt track) so I gave the car a quick clean as I'd put my summer / track wheels on when I got back and they were the only clean bit! I got a new snowfoam just before Christmas - Bear Car Care Glacier and I must say I'm very impressed. First time I used it the foam was still on the drive and in the street the next day! Went out later and the foam is still on the driveway And some of the mud I removed!

Collected some new wheels today. They're Enkei RPF1's in 18x9.5" et38 and weigh 8.076kg a corner which, Google suggests, is the same as Rays TE37's in this size so they're definitely a nice lightweight wheel.

The Rogue manifold is handmade whereas some of the ACE types are machine welded and some are handwelded so it depends which types you're comparing really. I have had zero problems with my Rogue manifold and no issues from the extra welds as the welding is high quality. I've no idea on remote mapping - I'm not sure that's something TD offer but you'd have to check with them directly. My intake set up is quite some way from stock so I'm also not sure how easy it would be to adapt the map remotely. Again speaking to Mike at TD is probably your best bet for the mapping side 👍

Also @VAD17 a whole days sprinting is only 8 laps iirc so only about the equivalent of 4 laps of Bedford max. From when I've been there with you you're probably doing best part of a sprint seasons worth of laps in one day.

Cloth arrived for trimming the extra centre cushion for the new seat I'm waiting on.

The next little bit of this year's upgrades arrived today

The GA2176UK is the one I have. The other 7" one is Android 10 not 9, my mistake
-
I think they only do two 7" Android 9 versions so could be the one you've seen on eBay? I reused the adapters, etc from the 10.1" version - links are posted earlier in this post 👍

A big box of parts arrived today. There are replacement Superpro ARB brace bars as my Whiteline ones have seen better days. New centric blank front discs as the National Autos grooved ones I had didn't cope well with track use and have cracked. There is also a Greddy higher capacity diff cooler ready to go on when the shorter final drive goes in. Finally there are a variety of different Eibach ERS tender and main springs for me to try over the next few trackdays as I wanted to move back towards a stiffer spring set up but with the tenders to give compliance for road use.

Swapped the headunit to another Eonon one as I was having issues when I tried the shift extender I use on track sometimes with catching the screen. It's the same headunit but with a 7" screen that sits in the dash rather than the 10.1" screen that protrudes. The 7" version was way more or a pain to fit especially the trim pieces at the sides. I also miss the size of the 10.1" screen but no more issues catching the screen with the 7" version.

I'm selling my Eonon GA2178 10.1" screen head unit. I've only had the unit around 6 months so it is as new. It's an awesome unit for the money and I've replaced it with another Eonon unit with a 7" screen (the 10.1" screen interferes with my shift extension that I use on track sometimes which is the only reason I'm selling - I much prefer the 10.1" display). The sound quality is a massive improvement over the OEM unit too. I've attached some images of the unit and the bits that come with it. It also includes a never fitted reversing camera and dash cam which plug into the stereo. I've also attached a video showing it starting up - it's a quick unit compared to some of the other Android headunits I've seen. It's excellent for running apps such as Waze, Torque and Harry's Lap timer, etc. I'm looking for £135 and I'm located on the West Miss / South Staffs border. Postage could be arranged at cost. Any questions please ask. (As you can see on the image above the screen is removable) VID_20200125_121333_01.mp4
