Hello and welcome to the club. Mine was the Batman badged one on the stand and I was chatting to you about prices and future plans etc in the afternoon.
-
Mine now has a more compliant ride than stock but still is nowhere near the compliancy of the 1.5 mx5's ride. I think our suspension set up (damper size, etc) just wouldn't allow the compliancy the 1.5 mx5 has.
-
Just a heads up on this - it's just under £25 for 5 litres of subaru coolant if you get it from a subaru dealer.
-
The 1.5, I felt, definitely wasn't a track car (as standard at least) and the 86 would annihilate it on track. But I felt it flowed really well on a and b roads - better than the 86 in my opinion. I drove the same bit of road after in my 86 and I'd been able to go faster in the 1.5 just simply due to how supple the 1.5's suspension was. I intend to test drive both the 1.5 and 2.0 more before I make any sort of purchase decision but I was genuinely impressed.
-
The 1.5 is such a sweet and free reving little engine though Nigel! And the suspension set up is apparently far better suited to road use in the 1.5 than the 2.0 from speaking to others who took the 2.0 on that day.

Literally just around the corner from me and Will! Welcome on board!

Bump
-
Does that mean you're signed up Mike? ;-)
-
I'm a big honda fan and quite like the new type r (not so keen on the price though) but better looking? Surely a spec savers appointment is needed stat!

There needs to be a like button for this whole project not just individual posts! Awesome work as always Nigel.

For Sale - 13 plate GT86 Manual Sat Nav
Deacon replied to Tweedbean's topic in For Sale GT86 / BRZ Cars
I'll look forward to seeing what you do with it. I've been tempted by an f56 myself. Saw a beautifully done one here in Italy yesterday with German plates on. -
15mm I believe. Same as STI
-
Bump for this. Not long now and it'd be good to have a good club stand! I believe there are 6 full track day slots left now for anyone considering it.

For Sale - 13 plate GT86 Manual Sat Nav

A GP2 would be my guess? :-) Sorry to hear about your friend - I saw it mentioned on Lohen's page :-( -
Do you have any pictures of how far the exhaust hangs down and maybe a measurement from the lowest point of the exhaust to the floor at all? The cobra I have now is good for not hanging down too low and I just need to be sure clearance will be ok with this too. Cheers.

You can usually expect a peak increase of around 10 bhp and similar torque from an ecutek map.
-
I'm interested too Ian. Let me check finances when I'm back from holiday!
-
One thing to add to what gt86 owner said - you don't need to import the raceeng/penske's - they have a UK base in Lichfield who can supply the GT86 set up's and tailor them to your requirements. I have all the prices on emails but I'm away at the moment so access is a bit tricky.

Damage to "carbon" section of rear bumper BRZ
Deacon replied to Solwood's topic in GT86/BRZ General Chat
I'm guessing they mean instead of lifting the lockout and putting it in reverse they put it in first by accident. -
Penske will literally make you what you want Nigel. Pretty much to any spec you give them. But obviously at a (considerable) price! I'd be seriously tempted by the Tein SRC's in your position Nigel. Get them fitted and book it in with Chris at Centre Gravity to work his magic. Mines going there as soon as I can get the cash together!
-
Nitron make very food stuff too Nigel. I'd recommend Centre Gravity for the set up once it's all ready.
-
Their cheap option comes in around £4k for a set. This ranges to about £4k per damper.
-
I was speaking to Penske Nigel. They have some pretty epic stuff available if the budgets there...
-
One thing to consider op is that several people have had springs and then ended up getting coilovers later. Obviously this then ends up being way more expensive overall. Just saying as this is exactly what I did!

I don't think I'd cut the standard bump stops - makes it a bit tricky of you want to go back to stock for any reason. To get back to stock alignment you would need camber bolts for the front and either lower control arms for the rear or camber bushes. I would take the opportunity to get more front and rear camber though rather than the stock settings. With a 25mm drop most people don't bother with the rear camber adjustment (it'll probably put you somewhere around -2degrees) but it can be more of an issue if it ends up very uneven. Front camber bolts are cheap and very easy to fit so a no brainer in my opinion. Hope that helps!
