I'm not sure Keith to be honest. I'd like to as it rides well and I really like the way it looks but from a practicality point of view it's a bit of a pain in the ass! Edit - actually the only thing causing me problems are the pillow type speed bumps. Sadly there are about a million of those round here...

CG / AST / Mann engineering 25mm lowering springs
Deacon posted a topic in For Sale GT86 / BRZ Parts
Now I have my suspension finally sorted I have my 25mm CG lowering springs for sale. They are made by AST and sold in the US as Mann Engineering springs. I had them on my car for about a year and three quarters and you can see from the picture they are still in very good condition. The spring rates are as follows:- Front: 3.02kg, Rear: 4.28kg A picture of them fitted on my car with the stock wheels fitted to give an idea of the drop:- I'm looking for £100 for them collected or I can bring them to a show or meet. A buyer is welcome to arrange their own collection though I'd they'd prefer. -

Sorry I think they're gone now. I had my MINI Cooper from Knights back when they first came out. Nice to have another local on board! -
Welcome on board - nice to have another local! ☺

Took some measurements today - seems the drop is a little more than I'd realised. I thought they had been set to 35mm down all around but actually they are 40mm down at the front and 50mm at the rear. The fact they ride so well at those heights really is impressive!

You do Nige but you didn't reply to my pm about them a while ago so I thought you weren't interested? Just let me know if you'd like them though ☺ -
Bump ☺

Mine took about two hours to fit and set up in total.
-
I had the whiteline upper camber bushes fitted instead. A bit more of a pain to fit but fairl easy to set up and cheaper than lca's. Allows me to run 2 degrees negative camber at the rear.

Competition Time! - Toyota Sports Day 2015 - 20th June

I read it as we can bring a guest but they won't take part? -
Banzai. Fast car only if you're having a Burberry wrap before the feature!
-
Yes I take part in a local sprint series so the flex a's will be tracked. It's one of the reasons I went for the arb's too to 'balance out' the softer dampers.
-
I've tried Marks on the ohlins (although he discovered after his settings weren't quite right). Hopefully be meeting Mark again soon to try both back to back. Based on my previous experience though I'd say the Flex A's are comfier although I don't think they'll be as capable on track as the ohlins. I'd love to try the SRC's and after having the flex a's they've gone straight to the top of my list when the gt86 becomes a more serious track car rather than a mainly daily driver. The TTX would be nice but they're about £10k aren't they!?!?
-
Yep - 6kg front and rear for the flex a's.
-
They are - it was one of the things that attracted me over the likes of the KW's where you lose spring travel with lowering.
-
That's the Ast / Mann engineering 25mm lowering springs.
-
One of the problems I found when I looked for some on my previous car was the side airbags - not many covers allow for their use.
-
Cheers Mark - always good to get some expert input. The drop is 35mm front and rear. I was expecting a bit of a rough ride at that to be honest but I really can't fault the ride. I know these are some of the third generation dampers that tein have developed for the '86 platform and you can really tell!

Just checked the springs were:- Front: 3.02kg, Rear: 4.28kg
-
Not sure I'm with you Nige? In terms of spring rates the lowering springs I had on were quite a soft spring rate, the meister gt1's were a 6kg f and r and the zeta's were a 5kg f and 6kg rear. The teins are far more comfortable than all those and are a 6kg front and rear.

Yep got mine this afternoon too. Does sound like lots of fun! Are we going to maybe meet somewhere before so that we can all arrive on mass? -
I got them from James at Amber - 100% recommended.

My perception is that they ride better than stock - although it's a long time since I was stock. They are definitely better than any other lowering option I've tried. The street I live on is VERY bumpy at one end - my car now rides it with a comparable level of comfort to my girlfriends unmodified KA on standard suspension and 14" wheels with balloon tyres. The hbs is difficult to quantify. Tein themselves on their US blog say it works better on vehicles with longer dampers like saloons and people carriers and less noticeably on shorter dampers (like ours). My perception is that when you hit a big bump (like a pot hole) you still feel that impact (they aren't magic after all!) but the edge is taken off the impact and they return to stability with no 'bouncing' that some suspension can suffer (I've noticed it in my friends, very softly sprung, new Honda Civic). The fact the ride is so good at the ride height I have it set at I also find amazing to be honest. Hope that helps!
