    Eibach Spacers - Pro's and Con's?

I have a stone chip by the nose badge, big one. I suppose it's a "badge of honour" - yay! I used my car! Mudflaps ought to stop the stones a bit if your wheels are sticky-outy. They don't offer much protection for the front panel, I find.

    Eibach Spacers - Pro's and Con's?

Hi Keith. I felt they were borderline at 15mm on the front, plus I wanted the front and back to look "even" so went for 10mm on the front to try and get the car to look "right". If I had stuck with 15mm on the front, I would have needed 25mm on the back, which would have fitted within the arch no problem. The 15mm did look a bit sticky-outy when viewed from behind, but when I took that view I had no spacer on the back, so it looked wrong. As has been said, having a longer stud is perhaps ideal, more so on the steering axle. However, if changing wheels over for track use, far less convenient. It only takes a few more moments to de-spacer with the 15mm upwards arrangement.

These are 15mm on the front, Keith (thanks to SpecialK for the loan) I went for 10mm front and 20mm back.

    At last - remap approved

Insurance company have at last allowed a remap. I have a cobra resonated with 2nd cat delete, and want to stay normally aspirated (for the time being). The remap will make the most of the performance, and the car will feel better on power delivery, and I will say "wow" and be happy; but will another level of improvement be noticeable on top of that, if I change the manifold (staying EL) with a sports cat (to stay legal). Not sure whether a manifold change will be worth it in terms of how the car will feel. Also, there is the extra noise to consider. Any thoughts from those who have gone this route? Thanks in anticipation. Keith

Booked in for a Tomei EL manifold, sports cat and remap at Fensport. Not sure whether to bother with overpipe or not. Looks like I shall have a Cobra 2nd cat delete pipe for sale! Anything else I should consider? I know that while I am there the wallet will be raided!

Well I met up with Kevin today, and realising we have similar number plates! His car is very well set-up and i was duly impressed! Will the EL manifold be too noisy? Well I don't think so, so there's just Julia to convince! In the end it cost me another £7.34 per annum to insure a remap and manifold change, so no argument there! Many thanks to Kevin for travelling to meet me half way at the Pot of Peas. Was great to chat to you, Kev, and to get your valuable input!

Thanks Guys. I love the sound of Mark's but somehow prefer the EL sound. I have had 13 years of decatted boxer burble so am sated in that respect, and quite like the different edge to the EL. Sounds like a manifold will improve things sufficiently that they will be noticeable. Noise will be the deciding factor I think. My Impreza was quite loud and I want something quieter with the GT - must be my age. Kind offer Kevin. You are not too far away!

    Eibach Spacers - Pro's and Con's?

Keith - I have 10mm front and 20mm rear. I don't notice the steering being heavier, but then Geoff's (above) are 5mm wider on the front, and his wheels fill the arches more due to offset. Agree with him that the back is more planted now. Lots of people in the States use them, and there only seem to be problems with the cheap ones. Eibachs are well engineered. I tried Special K's before I purchased, in order to get the stance that I wanted. Hope that helps. Keith That's three "Keiths" in one post - must be a record!
