Great idea this !!

Yes, they announced on the tannoy that parking under conker trees was a bit risky with the gusty winds. Still can't believe there were so many non-club entrants dotted about.

When we got there around 11am, things had thinned out in that lovely row of 86s. There was a row of 4 and a row of 6. I imagine they split up so as not to be parked under the conker trees in the strong winds! And around the event, I spotted another 9 GT/BRZs dotted about. If only they could all have been parked together! So near, yet so far! And here are the 3 Le Mans Tribute liveried cars in the arena, and leaving the arena for a photoshoot in the New Forest.

Good luck and safe travelling Guys! See you there!

Lot of events on at this time of year. We are still going to try to maintain a monthly cycle though. So far, it's pretty much a "ladies and their GTs" meet this time.

Been on to Goodwood circuit today and have chosen Saturday 2nd June for our next meet. We will park up next to the Old Control Tower which is immediately left as you enter the circuit grounds. (You can just make out the left turn in the photo, after the entrance). Don't go through the tunnel! For our entertainment on the circuit will be the Benjafields MSA Sprint, which looks like fun to watch. Google it. I will aim to be there for 11am. Snack lunches should be available in the Old Control Tower cafe. More details as they crystallize in my head. Keith

Many thanks to Lee, Nik, Vern and Louise, and Sam for joining us today from the Drivers Club. In all, we had 12 86s and a VX220 to admire, as well as Spitfires, Bentleys and other exotica on track and in the sky. Some pics in the Pics section.

The thing that appealed to us about the Cosworth package was that the test car that we drove had standard brakes, standard wheels with primacy tyres, standard suspension. Only upgrade apart from the S/C was the exhaust. We both ragged that car and that was when my wife said I was allowed a supercharger, because it would not require all the additional costly upgrades, and she felt that it did not spoil the way the car drove. It just complemented the original DNA. After a year running with that layout, I had found that, trying to do a 0-60 time was a massive failure with std tyres as traction was difficult to apply, even with a spare wheel in the boot. Clutch smell lasted for a while too! I also had occasion to brake hard under full acceleration once, and the standard brakes had a hard time dealing with all that forward thrust. Other than those 2 aspects, the std car coped very well with the S/C.

Welcome Dave. As Lauren says, there's a meet at Goodwood circuit on 2nd June, if you fancy it. There will likely be another red Aero there too!

And the white cars were the most popular by a whisker. Thanks again to those from this forum who attended, and to Mark from Abbey Motorsport for lending his technical expertise.
