Sorry, “V-Power Nitro+“ specifically lol I think they still sell regular V-Power (nee Optimax) 98ron in some places. But luckily Nitro+ is available everywhere near me

Hi there. Sorry for dragging up an old thread, but just curious how many DB’s your exhaust system was with the Cossie 1.2 exhaust before/after the hks manifold? I’m contemplating the cossie 1.2 but want to stay clear of any db limits on track. Listening to videos of stage 1.2 on youtube it sounds quite loud/Honda-esque. But 1.3 sounds ear piercing!
-
Totally

Apparently its the stronger fuel that makes them chirp. If you use 95 it’ll apparently be quieter than 97. I use vpower 99 always so not surprised mine was loud.

Great build! 1UZ is a cracking engine. I did the same swap into a MK2 Supra back in 2007 Reading through your build thread, I feel your pain. I had the same issues with having to widen the transmission tunnel. I had massive issues with the steering column being in the way of the drivers side header. I had to actually rotate the rack back 90'deg to get enough space to reroute the exhaust. Interesting BMW Gearbox conversion kit. When I did mine I was using the Castlemaine Rod Shop 1UZ to R154 MK3 Supra gearbox kit. Came with a Monaro clutch/flywheel and was probably the most expensive part of the conversion lol Shame 2UR's are still so expensive as I love to follow some of the US guys and have an RCF powered 86 lol Are you using the TRD 2UZ Charger?

Just toasted the OEM pads at Pembrey, so about to fit Cosworth StreetMaster pads to front/back this weekend along with some Brembo OEM grade discs.
-
Replaced today. In case anyone was interested, they appear to have fitted another SU003-00328. It looks like only the US get the later revisions of the pump.
-
Ahhhhhh sheeet My bad lol I cut/paste from a webpage lol Corrected now So to be clear, there is no recall lol
-
Who called it a recall?
-
You’re not wrong Oh well... regardless of part number, i’ve got 9 months warranty left so better to go out of warranty with a newer pump than the one i’ve got.
-
Totally, there is no recall. They are changing it under warranty; which is great! But cant get my head around why they arent fitting the latest part number... seems pointless if the issue just ends up coming back.
-
Yeah there are 4x versions of the Pump - 2012 - SU003-00328 Rev2 - SU003-05176 Rev3 - SU003-06089 Rev4 - SU003-07326 It looks like I'll be getting another SU003-00328 which does seem pointless and a waste of both mine and Toyota's time when they could just fit the new SU003-07326 pump.

New MKV Supra or LC500 for me next. Most likely the Lexus as the new Supra has so far been quite German and underwhelming. Used LC500’s have already shed £20k off the New price.

I personally cant fault the cars even one bit. Short of having to get a better battery and having my squeaky passenger window repaired under warranty, i’ve not had any problems with my 2014 car.
-
The problem is a factory supercharged/turbocharged engine would need to be developed/registered/tested globally on emissions/taxation/fuel consumption and with the cost of going through all this they would need to sell a fair old number to break even. Assuming people would pay around £35k for it. They should do factory approved power packs that can be dealer added. Like Proline for Subaru, BBR for Mazda and Mountune for Ford.

Im with Admiral. Less than £200 a year full comp with no voluntary excess and 0 NCB as its tied up on another car. Couldnt find cheaper.

Thanks for the quick response. I'm currently out in Canada on holiday but will drop you a PM later this week once im back in the UK

Hi there. Is this a complete stage 2.0 kit including the stage 1.0 kit? Does it come with ecutek programming kit or a booking/voucher for an authorised installer to map it?

Interesting video. I can see how these bushes make a difference to the way the car feels. I don't think i'd specifically go out of my way to do this mod as I'm happy the way the car feels, but if in the future the rear subframe ever needs to come off I'd definitely make sure I did this mod whilst everything is being removed anyway.
-
Interesting. I tried setting off in snow mode as you said and even though I still dont really get a lurch as such I think I understand what you mean with the difference in the way it pulls away normal vs snow mode. Is it first gear where you notice this most? Because 1st slips and but 2nd upwards has full lockup. In snow mode im 99% sure it pulls away in 2nd and therefore skips over the gear with all the slip.

Just my 2p.... but I run ADVAN AD08R’s on my 86. On and off the track I cant fault them. The only time they come unstuck is standing water... Before that I ran AD08R’s on my 6.0 Monaro VXR and my RX8. I swear by them.

elastic band surging feeling? Lurch? I’ve never noticed this on my car. 2014 auto with about 19k on the clock. Even after nearly 20k miles of nothing but track days, its still as tight as a drum. Is your car high miles or was the factory bush tired out?

nurburgring Nurburgring 2018
Leeky replied to LuckyLukeT's topic in Meets/Show & Shine - Pictures & Videos
Hat off to you, thats a pretty tidy lap. Not bad for your first trip to Nur. Conditions looked good. Dry, not too hot. Very little traffic. I’m jealous I’ve been going to Nur 1-2 times every year for about 14 years now and traffic/weather wise I rarely get conditions as good as that. It looked pretty well stuck with those AdvanSport V105's. I dont think the factory fit Michelin Primacy’s could have done that. I havent taken my 86 to Nur yet. How was yours feeling through Eschbach on the entry into Brunnchen? As that is the scariest corner for me. You’re coming in at a really steep angle, lots of speed, right side suspension is loaded hard and you gotta pivot it round whilst being mindful that at the bottom its a right hander. Catches many people out. Every car ive taken has done what i can only describe as the “dance of death” coming down that bend where I have to do a Luke Skywalker esq “turn off the computer and trust the force” lol- 9 replies

Cheers guys, but not interest in a custom tune. Just want something tried, tested and off the shelf. I’ve confirmed I can still get the Stage 1.0 kit so im going to go ahead with this. All the best.
-
Really? Fensport still sell it. I'm really looking to just get the Stage 1.0 pack fitted and then potentially add the manifold and mid-pipe at a later date. I'd prefer to get a tried and tested map from a company like Cosworth rather than a custom tune. Just because I've had people map my cars in the past and I rarely got a map that was a good blend of performance/reliability. But many thanks for the info/advice.
