    Newbie from Bucks

    Mine was done recently at Steven Eagell Aylesbury, and they did a great job. I had the 60k service and clutch done whilst everything was out, so paid no labour, only parts which saved a small fortune! They are not a specialist like RRG in Macclesfield, but they have done alright by me over the past couple of years I have had my GT86, fitting some bushes, my BBK and a few other bits, and happy to work on a modified car.     I wondered exactly the same thing, but mine seems fine - don't do anything with it and haven't noticed it flapping about. With my OCD about car noises, I usually notice anything that doesn't seem right

    Hahaha - of course - I have sleep deprivation and much body ache from 3 hour karting session, so I clearly only have one cylinder working! Is it as easy to access as the seatbelt clip?

    I used the same mounting point as the one in @VAD17‘s pictures, but rather than fatigue the metal by bending it, I used the supplied longer bolt and spacer. It’s very solid as a mounting point hth

    It's taken a while to catch up with carnage involved in your build! Well done for making it this far! If you can tolerate the challenges, it will be worth it in the end! I did a GM V8 conversion to a Commodore a (long) time ago now and it also took years, but damn, it was fun when done! This conversion does intrigue me, as I have a bit of a thing for V8's! Don't know a lot about the Lexus one, but the fact it's so light and has potential for fun power figures in NA form does appeal! Hope your nerves and patience let you make it to the end! Thumbs up for Carson too - looks like they have looked after you very well after your previous nightmares!

    For what it's worth, I have the Tomei UEL with over pipe, followed by Cobra sports cat front pipe, then Milltek Resonated catback, and it scrapes through MOT. With a friendly garage, it will be easier than it was with Toyota

    Love the idea Neal, but a 7 hour drive (both ways, and at best) is quite far for an indoor karting event for me personally Loads of people up that way though, so I would love to see the results!

    After a couple of recommendations this weekend, I am having a look at this, but can't work out which one to get - there are left and right models, and if I was buying both, it wouldn't matter which was which I would normally have gone Right (10510), but confusingly it says the right one is the Passenger side on a UK site. That could of course mean passenger side for a German, but it's not clear, so could someone point me to the right part number? 10510 for right and 10010 for left...? Thank you

    Bilstein B14 coilovers - review

    I forgot to mention.... I have not noticed any increase in NVH with the pillowball mounts, and I was particularly looking for that as I was concerned. Obviously, the active setup means you hear the rather loud stepper motors doing their thing when adjusting, but happy to accept that. If you don't go for active, then that won't apply. The other thing was I actually raised my suspension by 10mm when I installed the Flex A's, so instead of a 25mm drop with the Eibach springs, I brought it back up to just a 15mm drop, which helps with the travel issue, but clearly not the firmness of the soft setting The only other car I have been in that had the compliance and ability to soak up the bumps and keep the tyres in contact with the road was the Porsche Cayman S with PASM, which would no doubt cost 3 arms and 4 legs to replicate, so I am pretty happy with the Flex A's. I am sure if Ohlins had an equivalent active setup, it would be amazing, and also cost roughly 5 times more than I paid

    In my last year of having tried stock, then progressive Eibach springs with stock shocks and now TEIN Flex A's, I can only share my experience as is. 1) I would not call the stock suspension 'comfort', or particularly compliant 2) The most 'comfortable' overall were the Eibach's, but not necessarily for the reasons you imagine It was very good for bumps, and because of the progressive spring rates, I never bottomed it out. Ever. However, particularly when the car was loaded, either with passengers or luggage of some sort, because the springs were a bit more compressed, it handled well, but the ride got 'jiggly', particularly for passengers. As the driver, you got so used to it, you didn't notice. I found the setup way more compliant and it didn't 'wriggle' over high frequency bumps round corners like the stock setup, so a definite improvement. 3) The TEIN's are a more complex story. They are really very good, and on their 'softer' setting, they are a lot more comfortable than the stock or my Eibach setup. BUT, the compromise is felt when it runs out of travel as a result of the soft compression and rebound, it really slams the chassis, particularly with the pillow ball top mounts instead of the stock rubber ones. As a background to that, I have probably too much mechanical sympathy, so it makes me physically wince (and usually swear) every time it happens. I have been told by people that know more than I do that it's not a problem, but you do need to expect it on the softer settings'. I have largely mitigated the issue on the road with the speed and G settings (EDFC Active Pro setup) so they stiffen up progressively with speed and on all but slow speed potholes or sharp bumps, the issue is mostly eliminated, but obviously with the side effect of being a bit stiffer. Lighter wheels also improved it a lot. It's a great setup for a daily, with the ability to make it stiffer still for track use. As @Deacon can probably testify though, it is a compromise on track, as it just can't go stiff enough, and because the compression and rebound are tied together, it causes some compromise there too. As always, it entirely depends on what you want or need. Mine has to be a daily driver with some track capability and the Flex A's work well for that. That may change one day and the whole obsession thing may become reality I think it's probably possible to get better than the Flex A's, but to echo @Deacon, it will definitely have a large price tag associated

    Hi all, I have been looking high and low for wheels that fit my criteria and apparently I am fussy.... Nothing new there then! I am looking for light 17x8"wheels for road and track use, and it turns out they are rare and expensive for the GT86. The only ones I have found that seem to fit are the Rays CE28n (and also the TE37, but they aren't as light ) So, that brings me to my first question - does anyone know what Rays actually mean when they say wheels are Competition Use Size only? Logic explains it's supposed to be for Competition Use, but I would love to know why! Does it mean they are not strong enough for daily driver and road use with potholes etc, or does it mean something else? My second question is more general, asking if anyone has any other suggestions? I have spent days going over forum entries etc and have struggled. Thanks, Graeme

    Not sure it's possible to cure it completely - particularly in the rain Even with my current setup which has killed oversteer on the skid pad, it still lets go on the road in the wet - fairly violently too.... Your car is looking fantastic - nice work! PS - I am marginally envious of the wheels - I have been looking for some of those for 9 months without success Where did you get them from?
