Not all Good Year tyres are the same! -
Does this require forged Pistons etc?

Hi Lauren I think the summer tyres are Michelin sport pilot 3 Will check when I get back to my storage unit Must be a fairly hard compound, low wear and low noise Was on good year extra load, asymmetric which really were too noisy when travelling up to Scotland mile after mile, but had very good grip and were great in the wet Stephen

I use 225 x 50 x 16 snow tyres, now 2nd season, or 3rd! (Very little tyre wear) and find them to lose grip more easily than summer tyres, 225 x 45 x 17 But a darn site safer than Premacys when trying to keep up with Audi quattros on dirty winter roads I used to have extra load sidewalls on my summer tyres and found it stopped the fun, and was noisier to boot Changed them to something less stiff and less sticky and the fun increased Stephen

What ET are the wheels? -
Due to a change of suspension, I have the above available, for anyone who lives locally, it may be an idea to swop complete legs to aid fitting? Drops officially, front -15mm, rear -15mm, but in reality it is nearer an inch drop. Spring rate front 2.8kg, rear 4.8kg Tein Luxury MasterHigh Tech Springs are designed to work with standard shock absorbers. A complete set of 4 uprated and lowered springs BRZ lowers rear approx 10mm I am looking for £100. Stephen

I have an Alpine 925 dab head unit fitted (thanks Lauren) and a Pioneer spare wheel well sub. It has improved the sound, but also left it slightly unbalanced, needing more va va vum up front! Having done a little research on this site, I am considering amping the door speakers and tweeters. Components for consideration are 6.5" Focal door speakers and tweeters mounted using spacer plates The speaker packages seemed to be lumped with "crossover" boxes, which I do not understand! Should I use crossovers, they need to be mounted somewhere, the neatest I have seen being the boot Then there is the amp, having a self driven Pioneer sub in the boot, I only need to drive 150 odd watt door speakers and tweeters Does this mean that I need 4 Chanel? Can it be small and mounted under the passenger seat? Would an Alpine amp make installation easier, when tying in with the head unit? Btw I do not want to lose any boot space Thanks in advance Stephen

Mac only myself! I downloaded an update for mapping within 30 days of buying the Alpine and popped it onto a micro sd card, but haven't been able to command the head unit to action it! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Has anyone updated the software for their Alpine head unit? Are there separate mapping and unit updates? Thanks in advance. Stephen

I live in a rural area with hills and moors One can be blatting along one minute on seemingly good roads at a fair old tickle and then hit snow/ slush in the dark Farmers create muddy roads This will not be the same for everybody But it is my reality Stephen
