Around the bend she stuck!

Going to fit some alloy wheel nuts, the standard ones have rusted very quickly!
-
Another option would be to fit Koni inserts to use with my Tein comfort springs, this again would raise standards above oem?

Sorry I wasn't able to make it to the TSS round! Have done a bit of research around the American forums which have used Bilstein for a year or more, the feedback seems to be that they work best at higher ride heights (wanted) and maybe work better on the road (progressive springs). The struts are built to a higher standard than oem which should aid the ride. On rough uncambered North Yorkshire roads I found my previous BC coilovers did not perform well at higher ride heights.

The £1k whoppy doo head unit has been fitted for over a year, there was a day's labour and £200 for the speakers and circa £150-£170 for the amp.
-
The whole system sounds warm and easy to listen to, I had worried that by amping and fitting the big speakers it would have too much base and I would become a street crawler!
-
These ones are a tad more beasty!

If one doesn't forge the engine first, is supercharging better than turbocharging?
-
Need to plan the spend.....thinking I will need brakes and clutch prior to fitment?
-
Geeing myself up around superchargers!

The car seems less noisy as well, probably because there is a focal point of music which raises above the background noise? Couldn't believe how light and flimsy the standard speakers are, they wouldn't move much air!
-
Since fitting the speakers, the sound has progressively got better, it was detailed in the fitting instructions which I took with a pinch of salt, so there is a running in period!

I need some wheel nuts, which hopefully will not go rusty within a year like the current ones have! It would be handy to have the same diameter head as the standard locking wheel nuts. I have some spare money within my Paypal account, so that would be a good source of funds. Thanks in advance. Stephen

Would be good have a ride in your car Lauren, shame I didn't have time at Oulton Park! I like the sounds of Bilstein coilovers as well, having used them on both my Celicas Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

I have owned my car for near 18 months, soon after she arrived a 2.5" over pipe and 2.5" resonated cat delete pipe were fitted, mated to a standard back end. A K&N filter sits in the standard air box. Last year at the Tuning Developments meet she made circa 200 flywheel bhp, which was not too shabby? Now bought a HKS system to mate to 2.5" pipework, waiting until next month to fit, when I will ECUtek, with a view to reducing start up retard and in doing so, hoping not to annoy neighbours! Casual observation being HKS pipework diameter is not much bigger than 2nd cat pipe. Motivation for pipework change being she sounds just a bit too homogenised for a sports car, drove a new Cayman S a couple of months ago and that certainly made its presence felt and indeed heard! Many cars from the MGB GT to present day have exhausts tuned for a feeling of noise and performance, I might add that for me,it is not the noisier the better situation! I have a certain amount of nervous trepidation in doing so, not wanting to fook things up, hoping that HKS as a top brand have spent a bob or two on R&D? I have used HKS on my Celica gt4 to good effect. Figures suggest I will be making circa 220 flywheel bhp with the above mods, which I hope to be happy with! An increase in torque would to much appreciated. Driving on reasonably unpopulated rural roads, I achieve 35.9 mpg average, this for me provides affordable fun. The car reminds me of a previous favourite, Opel Kadette 2.0GTE, this one had a plated (clutch type) LSD which allowed me to get the back end out in a controllable way, so this may be a future upgrade? Any thoughts around my mods would be appreciated. Stephen
