Just driven 700 odd miles on my jollies, so switched to economy map Mainly constant throttle using c. Control and pottering Achieving 40 mpg using A/C most of the time The car felt much more docile which was pleasant for touring. Decided to switch to map 3 when back home Throttle was much crisper, much more linear to input Much more performance and fun to drive Economy in everyday use 35 mpg So very good But.....that extra performance is based on leaner fuelling and more advance So have been aware on more pinking at roundabouts etc when not giving her beans! Kinda reminds me of one of my old Celicas before getting rid 340bhp Recaros 40mm Bilsteins all corner weighted When everything was working in harmony, she was brilliant and a real adrenalin rush The 86 gives me the same adrenalin rush, pretty much out of the box With everyday reliability and unbelievable economy When I do eventually get my 350-400bhp Carlos Sainz Celica back on the road, the worry will be an anti-climax! Popped down to Lechlade Circa 200 odd miles each way Hot so using aircon Running on economy map 1 Mainly constant throttle No great acceleration Seems to change the character of the car, more relaxing to drive And averaging 40 mpg! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Hi Lauren Have you used fibreglass to secure the crossovers to the door panel? I happen to have a spare pair of panels which could come in useful! Stephen

Hello Lauren It would appear that by insulating your boot floor, you have not allowed ventilation for your amp? Curious Stephen

I have seen a Samco induction tube (standard air box) fitted to some cars, which has enables the noise generator to be deleted, which looks much neater and less complicated. Any thoughts on noticeable noise levels? I don't suppose there is a performance benefit? Stephen

One consideration being the heat generated from the amp, was considering mounting all below the carpet, but now thinking bout a custom enclosure in the boot, maybe using mdf? And having the amp level with the boot floor, giving more heat dissipation? Any thoughts? Stephen

Should get some banging beats? The motivation for upgrading the existing kit, being it didn't seem too well balanced, the subwoofer was kicking out good bass but the front end was flat and not engaging

Just ordered the speaker template/baffle from Patrick Henry today, which will place the tweeters in the oem position I think that I will need to clear the boot of all foam etc to mount the amp and crossovers? Then after sound insulating everywhere glue some of the foam back in to support the boot carpet? Stephen

I can afford the expense of a pair of speakers, as indeed I am sure Lauren can, just wondering why she chose not to?

Hello Lauren Rather than disconnect your rear speakers, why not replace them with something a little better? Stephen

I also lost 2 front centrecaps for my OZ wheels, have come to the conclusion that my front wheels heated up and expanded causing the caps to pop out. Stephen

Just bought an Alpine amp, seemed cheap enough, dealer was selling it off as "demo unit" PDX-F6 4 channel, will probably look to mount it together with the crossovers in the boot. I have a roll of 2mm insertion rubber lying around, maybe pull all the foam out of the boot/spare wheel well, then cover it? Just need to decide on which Focal 6.5" speakers to fit? Any ideas? Looking to buy today. Dynamat or similar to cover the doors? Any cheaper alternatives? Anyone wish to fit my box of tricks? Stephen

I contacted the spacer plate manufacturer and he asked which Focal 6.5" speakers I was looking to use Any advice? Thanks in advance
