Any tips on fitting an amp to the toyota touch 2 as for £105 I can get the Alpine PMX-F640 4 which has speaker inputs so I could connect it into the touch 2 & it has a pre-out which I can connect to my sub https://www.caraudiocentre.co.uk/product_m-alpine-pmx-f640_p-23894.htm?gclid=CjwKCAjw64bPBRApEiwAJhG-fov7U5GWXa8kOofKb08ecxsNVynCadQDXLNOjkKwH-0Q7iQZvm6GKhoCDlwQAvD_BwE Where would be the best place to put the amp as I’ve put them under the driver’s seat in the past which wouldn’t cause any problems as I would never have a passenger behind me as I like to sit back

Having just got the car & it looks awesome I’ve decided to not play around with the car until I’ve got used to it. What I didn’t realise is that I have sat nav included which although I know it isn’t very good it was a bonus to find out it was fitted. So far I’ve spent 15 minutes driving the car to drop off the guy who delivered it at the local train station as have to go to work soon but have tomorrow & Friday off to start getting used to it Some things I think are worth getting are a cheap set of floor mats so I won’t mess up the car over the winter which fit properly & looking on ebay I can tell a lot of them advertised that will fit the car but I can see from the photos they don’t so looking for advice please. I also want a decent back seat cover for when the dogs come with me in the car & I think I will also get a dog guard to stop them trying to get into the front I think it would be wise to get a front & back car cam & looking through numerous youtube videos the best choice would be the Thinkware F770 2CH front & rear. One think I need help on is what spoiler do I get, I might go for the TRD one that fits the 2017 86 but are there other aftermarket spoilers which would look good? Tints are a must as well as a visor strip on the front window, does anyone know a good place to get them done around Leeds/Wakefield area? As I will be tinting the rear windows 95% I will need a reversing camera & was thinking of the pumpkin universal licence plate holder camera kit as it has good reviews & I don’t want to drill holes in the car. I am thinking of getting a HUD as I think they are cool & not expensive but again which to get? Speaker change will also be on the to do list & I will get a Focal IS165TOY kit for the front but what’s the best for the back & I would like to put my sub & amp in there so could do with advice on wiring it up as in the celica it connects to a phono output from the head unit I am tempted to spray the calipers electric blue http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SPRAY-CAN-ELECTRIC-BLUE-HEAT-PROOF-PAINT-BRAKE-CALIPER-ENGINE-HOT-EXHAUST-STEEL/302434683648?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649 But might go for carbon grey http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Foliatec-High-Temperature-Brake-Caliper-Carbon-Grey-Paint-Kit-/272513550789?epid=3003161939&hash=item3f7312c9c5:g:r5MAAOSwMmBV6DZr again what are your thoughts?

I live in Castleford just of the m62 if your passing
-
I might come along to this as i'm not working that weekend
-
If its still available I will have it, I'm thinking of going to the midlands meet at the end of the month so could get it then if you manage to go
-
I went with these mats in the end & they are a perfect fit, I needed something as often end up walking around muddy fields
-
I want to add a car cam & phone charger & I’m not sure the best place to get power for them as I want them hard wired, I think it would be best to fit a small fuse box rather than use fuse taps as I have the option to add other accessories later. In past cars I took a tap from the main accessory cable on the ignition switch on the steering column but as I have a starter button I don’t know where I should tap the cable. I have a couple of 12v to 5v usb converters I can wire in so I can just use usb to micro usb cables instead of cutting the supplied cigarette adaptor

I looked on the weathertech website I it says they only do rears at the moment doesn't matter what year I put in either http://www.weathertecheurope.com/uk/toyota/2017/gt86/floorliner-digitalfit/ My car came with the space saver so one less thing to buy
-
It came with proper mats but I am after something to go on top so I dont get them covered in muck and I found that wearing work boots damages them over time
-
Thats perfect thanks, job to do on my next day off

Whats the best way to get a power cable from the battery through the bulkhead & into the boot for an amp for my sub? In previous cars I managed to get the cable through an existing grommet in the bulkhead, under the carpet into the boot & curious how you have done it

Well I’ve had a few days to get used to the car now & I understand what you say, there are a couple of things I would like to change or add to the car, I suppose I just got a bit over enthusiastic wanting to do things straight away I decided to get a Viofo A119 V2 front dash cam as it has all the features I actually need including gps which I wanted with a dashcam. I won’t bother with tints at the moment but they are on the to do list same as the reversing camera & I might as well wait until next year for body kit as there isn’t much available yet for the new version of the 86 & calipers can wait until next year when the weathers better I do want to make music sound better as stock lacks base & I do love base so I got a speaker to rca converter so I can put my old sub & amp in the boot & will have to find a way to get a power cable from the battery into the boot. Changing the stock speakers can also wait until next year. I find the touch & go reasonably good & I will keep that but won’t know how good it is until I connect up my sub Reversing camera, do I need one? Probably yes as it does make reversing easier when I have the tints done in the future but not at the moment. As for my thoughts on the car itself, I do love it & it’s the best car I have ever driven but there are a couple of things I don’t like, I tend to listen to music from usb & have a small usb stick but when it’s in the socket I can’t close the cover, it would have been better if the socket was recessed more but that’s something & nothing. I don’t like the length of the gear leaver as I had gotten used to a short shifter in my celica & I find it too long but I expect I will get used to it. I would have preferred if the door mirrors had the option to automatically fold when I turn off the ignition but my celica didn’t have the option so I can put up with pushing a button. As for everything else I think Toyota have made a bloody good car with just enough gadgets that drivers actually need, I’ve read reviews where people say its basic inside but I disagree as just right

Small update, I was supposed to get the car at midday today but unfortunately there's been a slight problem. When the dealership went to detail the car they found some fallout (their words not mine) which they need the body shop to sort out as they want the paintwork perfect for me. Frustrating & disappointing but now I should get the car on Wednesday

I only have a few days left before I get my GT86 and I'm already counting down the hours I’m wondering what I should modify first as I’m already planning quite a few things. I’ve read that the first thing I should do is get better tyres which I will do when I’ve gone on a drifting course so I learn how to recover the car if I over cook it as I do want to be able to drive the car the way it was designed to be driven but of course only when safe to do so. I am thinking of a carbon fibre theme which will hopefully look good with the car being grey which will be a bodykit & inside hydro dipping some of the plastic parts The first things I am thinking of is a Dinitrol new vehicle rust proofing kit, genuine mudflap set, genuine carbon effect bumper protection plate & a panel filter (recommendations please) Future modifications would be a Borla unequal length header & a Magnaflow catback exhaust along with a remap at Tuning Developments so I can get this sound Also I’m thinking of getting a stainless steel sports cat or a front pipe with high flow cat & a stainless steel over pipe, rear deffuser, bodykit (don’t know what one yet) rear roof spoiler, lowering springs (recommendations please) strut braces front & rear, bonnet struts, head unit & speakers, different alloys, Valenti light smoked Revo rear lights, Jewel smoked headlights, light smoked bumper light, smoked side marker & I’m sure there will be others I think of & some I might not bother with in the end Thoughts please

I've read there is a big blind spot but will know for sure when I'm first on the motorway & I do like to sit far back, I will have to have to look more into bodykit as dont want to catch it on speed bumps which I have done from time to time with the celica as some bumps are a lot higher that normal around here I would probably just get a bottom line kit I have a neighbour who does spraying so could get him to paint it for me. I dont know if I will end up lowering it as the ride is much better that the celica which I found very surprising as when I went for the test drive the road outside the dealership was having old tram lines being out & the road replaced which did give me an idea what the car is like on a bad surface but be on the lookout for strut braces as it does improve handling I personally do like the alloys but might change them in the future to 5 spoke 18" alloys in gun metal, one of the reasons for getting a grey 86 was if I ever decide on having a respray I want gun metal for the colour. There is so much I dont know about the 86 as all the reviews are done in daylight so I have no idea what the dash looks like in the dark. I will probably change some of the bulbs/leds to blue as like that along with footwell leds when I open the door, probably some leds behind the bumper to discretely illuminate the grill One thing I have no idea about is the infotainment system as its different from manuals I have found online & I cant find a manual for mine so have no idea how to switch the damn thing on. One thing I do want is a good HUD for it as I think they are cool. One thing about me is that I love gadgets & I'm in the process of converting my house into a smart home & already have lights & home cinema controlled by alexa so will want to get her in the car at some point as well I do think the first mod would have to be tints & then I will need a reversing camera as I wont be able to see out the back at night & dont want a little fubar do I

I'm going to keep it stock for a while but will be having a good look through Aliexpress to see what they have. When I got home last night I ordered a genuine set of mud flaps from the official toyota ebay store & I dont know what others think of it but I also paid extra for the smart cover as you never know when you might get dent or scratch in the car. The car is now paid for & I just have to wait until midday Friday for it to be delivered & lucky for me I have 3 days off to get used to it before back to work. One thing I have heard about is the blind spot & was wondering if anyone has fitted small blind spot mirrors as the celica has excellent door mirrors with no blind spot One of the biggest problems I will have is as its the 2017 version theres not much available at the moment for it bodykit wise & all Fensport have are side skirts, boot spoiler, rear side spoiler & wide arcg kit. Nothing for the front as I would look better with a front lip imho. Now I've actually seen & driven the grey 86 I just love the colour as the grey paintwork matches the interior so well & I now realise hydro dipping would be pointless as I like it so much. I will probably put in footwell leds first & paint the calipers but not sure what colour to use (opinions?) I am an ebay addict & there was a black rear spoiler I saw on ebay starting bid £70 just down the road from me but dont know if it would look right on the new 86. I'm glad I didnt get a spoiler on the car as the new one looks cheap compared to older pro spoiler

I will be goingto some shows next year so plenty of time to start modifying the car
-
I met a number of you yesterday at JAE & couldn't have been more welcome when I had quite a few questions about the GT86. I talked to Minion for quite a while & said I would be joining the club when I got home as had only come down for the day so here I am, I'm the old fat bloke you talked to around midday as a load of the club members went off for a walk in the blow up dinosaur costumes . As soon as I get the car I'm after I will be getting premium membership as didn't realise there was an option for sticker colour until now. As soon as I get the time I will be booking a test drive then the hunt for the perfect car starts as I would really like the aero in grey but would settle for black if I found one at a good price. I've had a gen6 Celica for 12 years & the GT86 is the next logical step as even after walking around JAE & looking at all the other Jap cars the only other one that I was drawn to is the GTR but its just not as nice imho. I was really impressed how members were more than happy to spend so much time chatting to me as I'm older than a lot of their dads but it shows what a friendly club you are & I'm looking forward to meeting up at shows next year

I'm already wishing it was Monday as I will be going down to test drive it. It works out better for me though as it saves me having to mess agout with busses & trains as I can take the celica down there
-
Thanks for the idea but I'm paying cash for it so don't need finance. Just paid for membership as well I'm off to see the car on Monday to pay the balance but unfortunately cant take it home then as theres a mark on the parcel shelf which they are going to replace for me so they will deliver the car to me on Friday which is my next day off after Monday so have plenty of time to get quotes for insurance. As the car is only 6 months old I think it will be worth paying for the smart cover & get free GAP insurance included as well. Thanks for everyone's input to help me find the right car & I didnt expect to find one so quickly but I think I have made the right choice as with no spoiler I can put whatever bodykit I want on the car without having to worry about ant existing holes. Now the fun begins as I will have to decide what modifications I want to make to the car & I have a few ideas already so will start a new thread on that soon
-
After driving the new one earlier I'm not too keen on the spoiler so think I will try & get some fuel out of them
-
I've been on the phone to the Wolverhampton one & they will take £22000 which they will verify by email & call me back shortly with the total price as they will sort out the tax paperwork & I can get drive home insurance as well so that would be an idea. Also the mileage as its being used as a demonstrator but will park it up once I pay the deposit I'm ready to pay my deposit shortly & Monday afternoon I will be a proud new owner of a GT86
-
Now I have driven one I have to say I'M IN LOVE I cant go down over the weekend as working but have Monday off so will go then & I will sort out a price over the phone as suggested with confirmation & it probable is the best with modifications I might do in the future regarding bodykit I do have a few questions though about owning one What modifications can I do without voiding the warranty? What size wheels would you recommend as I can't go around with 16" alloys all the time but might just use them as winter wheels What make of tires for the larger wheels?
