Yeah, I saw on the other forum you had already checked. On the link you posted the English translation has the following footnote. 1. The range of applicable chassis numbers includes vehicles that are not eligible. For details, please contact your local Toyota dealer. Unfortunately, at the mercy of Toyota although don't you still have warranty until June?
-
Have you checked with the recall checker on the Toyota uk website?
-
So would Ā£275 still be too high then for what's left of the service, spark plugs and diff oil change?
-
How much are plugs and diff oil and how long does it take to change the latter?
-
Have a look through Dabonwheels as they explain the different options. Short answer is what badger has. You can't use splitters as I am pretty certain the sharkfin is amplified to compensate for the compact size.

I don't have the wiring as locating it proved hard even for Toyota for earlier years. My MY15 heated seats stopped working and local dealership managed to get wiring diagram but it wasn't the same as mine. Turns out Toyota only have wiring diagrams for later regs as earlier ones like mine were fitted by Transcal rather than Toyota. Local dealership were told in no uncertain terms by Toyota GB warranty dept to get Transcal in to sort (dealership were hoping to sort themselves) and pass Transcal invoice back to warranty to pay. If Toyota won't touch them to save money then it can't be good lol

Change the stock tyres though. Even in cold weather (before this even colder spell) the back end on mine can step out at less than 20mph on a small roundabout if I apply anything other than light throttle before car is straightened up to exit. Lol Beaten to it by alucardo

Ok. I thought the dealership was making the assessment. I would ask for a copy of the photos/submission to toyota Gb so you can see what's they are assessing.
-
Call me cynical but once the dealership have your gearbox in bits they can say it's down to your track session and expect you to pay up to fix it? Anyway an independent can do it and Toyota stump up the cost when the independent assessment shows it had nothing to do with your track session?

Agreed. If I ever get around to it I intend to put 6/8in subwoofers behind the rear qtr as there is so much room. Just need to build the boxes and it's been a good 12 years since I had a full fibreglass boot install in the gen7 Celica lol

They are more inclined to offer less than a standard car as a modified car narrows the market for them to sell on. You will certainly get more for it selling as is via forums like these to like minded individuals or parting out and trading in a stock car.

Iām Back but with a problem š¤·āāļø

Got hit in a different car and even many years ago the cost was more than Ā£130. The issue is that there is polystyrene behind the bumper and it's a one time use so whilst my bumper had no more than a couple of inches gouge in it and not out of shape at all so could have been smart repaired the polystyrene had done its job and was pancaked So bumper off job increasing cost. -
Even with amps connected directly to battery the only time battery is powering them is when the engine is off. With engine running Alternator is powering everything. Alternator usually specced with some reserve even with everything the car could be running switched on and the figure of 25% reserve springs to mind. I could get my gen7 Celica lights to dim slightly even with engine running when bass kicked in with 588wRMS (test certificate too) amp powering the subs and 400wRMS amp powering remaining speakers. Altenator not giving enough beans and I highly doubt the gt86 altenator is that different ā¹ļø

Thanks for clarifying

The screen looks quite glossy. How's the glare on it?

Thought my ears were burning. You will need a nylon trim removal tool as that dash marks easily. Other than that I think I can remember most of what Ben did āŗļø

I would agree with extra heat. Stock gt-86 at the moment but adding a rotrex to my gen7 celica increased exhaust temps alot as the fitter of my customers exhaust found out when he banged the cat to see where a leak was coming from and it melted right through his fleece. Well I did warn him it would be hot after a spirited 30miles š. The fitter who did my exhaust on it don't normally offer a lifetime warranty on a sports car if FI'ed (presumably due to this extra heat) but got them to agree to it š

Getting the quotes in. Recommendations welcomed.

I changed from 1.6L auris to gt-86 as my daily driver only 4 months into a policy with direct line. They charged Ā£65 extra for the remaining 8months (I have business class 1 insurance) so I have put any after market mods (declared sat Nav, rear parking sensors and leather interior as these as not standard on a gt-86) on hold until renewal My supercharged gen7 celica is with green light who did me a really competitive price at a similar price to my Auris which sky couldn't get anywhere near so left them. It better be the same this year or I will move insurers again š -
Nemesis. It should have come with floor mats as standard as mine did. As to the other mods I agree with others and get used to the car as it is š

7.5-8.5in is the recommended rim width for a 225 width tyre. My 18x8 alloys came with 225/40/18 as standard as to plenty of others 18x8in alloys You can use tyresizecalator website too see what sizes suit for other rims / tyre combos Hth

Whilst I was searching heated seats seemed to be only in the leather or alcantara seats. As I wanted leather seats in the end it was quicker to check photos for the heated seats button than rely on the adverts for correctly stating leather seats as so many adverts would say leather when they weren't. Quite a few adverts didn't show the seats clearly either as they would shoot the interior from passenger side towards the dash. Hence looking for the heated seat button instead lol

Small world. Just had to sign up as I hadn't registered lol. Hope you find the one you want. No surprise you are looking for black gt86. As Ben mentioned I bought a gt86 (17k at a Toyota dealership for 15plate with leather interior and heated seats) a little while ago which I am enjoying after saving for 18m. Still have the gen7 though ;-)
