Now sold, admin please close/lock post -
The head unit has very little to do with car settings. Better of getting a Carista OBD dongle and their app which allows you to tweak all manner of things. You get a 1 month free trial of the app with the dongle which should be enough time to set things to your liking

Have a road trip planned for end of the month and was hoping to find time to get up to Abbey Motorsport to check alignment following lowering of car. Sadly, work is crazy right now and weekends are spoken for. As such anyone know of a place I could get alignment done in Bournemouth/Poole area?
-
Thanks both, I’ll probably take into Mike Stokes in the interim and then arrange a trip up to Abbey later in the year for some more sophisticated fettling.

So, I have the, supposedly official, AutoDAB unit in my car. When it’s locked on, to Radio 6 99% of the time, it’s generally fine (once I rerouted dashcam cabling to avoid interference). However, it has a habit of going hunting for stations when you get into a black spot area (e.g. a multi-storey car park) and in doing so takes me ages to scroll back through the 50 or so channels to get back to R6M. i don’t want to replace the HU so I’m wondering whether there are any other options, e.g. replacing the 'stick on' aerial or replacing the AutoDAB unit altogether. Any thoughts/advice welcome.
-
Hmm, that’s got me thinking, would a 2017MY aerial have the same effect, as DAB is available as standard. As such the stock aerial should have a DAB output and in theory be better than the aftermarket stick on one. Anyone have any idea whether this hypothesis is in any way correct or if I’m talking out of my...

H&R Springs on mine (supplied by Tuning Developments: http://www.tuningdevelopments.co.uk/product_info.php?cPath=502_625_629&products_id=2388). Likewise very pleased with how close to OEM they feel, no additional harshness at all.

Apparently Carista can now do TPMS. Dongle is about £15, subscription about £30 a year. Have the dongle but not the subscription - nor 2 sets of TPMS valves for that matter ;-)

Looking to remove the front number plate brick, just wanted to know what is the minimum width for a number plate to cover the holes left behind. I want the number plate to remain legal, but only having a 5 digit plate I can afford to lose some of the extra width whilst retaining the mandatory 11mm surround. Ta in advance.

I have TD resonated, std everything else. I’m in Dorset but will be at Goodwood next Sunday (weather permitting) if you’re interested.
-
Ditto, weather permitting I’ll be there

Thanks all, anyone recommend a good online supplier of short number plates?

Tyre Pressure Sensors / valves (?)
SnappyChariot replied to GT86Bob's topic in GT86/BRZ General Chat
I’d happily fork out for a 2nd set of sensors if there was a way I could update the ECU settings at home. I vaguely recall that Carista or Ecutek had a solution in beta. This is going to become a bigger issue as the number of post-14 '86s increase and the desire to fit aftermarket wheels to our cars continues. -
Is there anywhere in the UK with stock of these at present?
-
Thanks Lucas, order placed!

Can anyone recommend a suitable set of wheel nuts to use for fitting a set of Rays wheels. I understand the OEM nuts aren't suitable. Not looking to spend a fortune, but not wanting to skimp either. I did see these on the Amber performance site: https://www.amber-performance.co.uk/product.php?xProd=25519&xSec=8578 Ta in advance.
-
Perfect, thanks should I call you to order?
-
You’re more than probably right, I’m just dropping 20/25mm on H&R springs. Point is the OZ motorsport wheels are ET50 istr. I guess I’m trying to convince myself that, alongside a minor lowering, sticking to a std offset albeit with a wider wheel is less of a compromise and the extra rim width will provide a subtle aesthetic improvement.
-
Definitely planning 17x8 wheels but going to stick to standard offset or as close to as possible. That will give me 1/2” more poke than standard which with a slight drop will give it the OEM+ look I want to achieve. Aiming for a stance similar to the below...
