Subaru Pro R take a trip to the Ring to drive the Rent4Ring Brz
LFA posted a topic in GT86/BRZ General Chat
Mostly lame but........... http://youtu.be/jCsWQU4DI-8 -
STI goodness but sadly not available to us brz plebs
-
Yeah, one of my favs too. Think it adapted from a wrx sti item, and boy does WR blue rock!
-
The STI item isn't that low, without the optional 'under bit', and even then there would be decent clearance. Currently running ride height minus 15 mm and have had no major issues, other than the odd low speed kerb nudge. Life might be different with carbon though.
-
I'm currently liking the APR item, which has quite a nice functional look to it.:32 (12):The STI splitters days might be numbered.Anyone got any other suggestions; nothing gash please:p

Loathsome, obviously, but a cutesy convertible will sell well. Given its RWD they'd better include driver training Hybrid like TS030 would be very interesting. Interesting they have production capacity issues; Subaru seeing record sales globally, which might explain it.

I'd heard a few stories that the BRZ rentals at the Ring were getting binned a lot. Just had a quick graze of their FB page and found and entry for the BRZ, which clearly states ; " not a car for the novice or beginner" Post by Rent4Ring Gmbh & Co. KG. In fact, their web pages now states " experienced to expert only." So is the sweet BRZ a bit of a widowmaker when lightly enhanced for track use? http://www.rent4ring.de/en/info/rentals-for-the-nordschleife.html#p174_fineprint The FB post also mentions that the car is back for a limited time only so presumably it is getting too expensive to repair lol

Big fanfare then it went quiet; was building to GT4 spec I think Lovely .

Nice read, but I think they still have more of the car's virtues to discover. http://www.carmagazine.co.uk/Drives/Search-Results/Long-term-tests/Subaru-BRZ-2013-long-term-test-reivew/

Just about to do my track setup on the chassis, including my new coilovers. After that FI but still not sure which way I will swing. Still fancy some racing seats but I think that must included the rest of the track safety system too; not sure.

A BRZ has made it to the final of EVO's track car of the year. Lol!
-
I've been told Evo are looking at a few FI 86RZs.

Abbey Motorsport Sprintex SC kits upgrades
LFA replied to Mark@Abbey M/S's topic in Abbey Motorsports
So we are talking Sprintex supercharger and intercooled, with 75mm pulley. Sits on top of the motor, sort of mad max style (its aussie after all,) intercooler under the front grille as you would expect. But enough technical stuff , so what about the drive?I loved it :32 (38):It might be cliché, but supercharging does suit the car and keeping the character of the car has always been an aim of my project. My thoughts:+ you REALLY notice the performance improvement, even with Mark and I on board; one-up would be even better. I would be as bold as to say that it transforms the car and feels genuinely rapid on the pedal.+ you get much more pull low down and the car is much more flexible and rapid driven in gear. The slow wind up is no more and revs and speed build quickly.+ great linear delivery and it feels like a much bigger motor. I was imagining getting on the power out of my favourite track curves!+ going to give you way more overtaking opportunity and allows for quicker decisions than the stock car where I find you have to plan carefully!+ off the beans, or in town, it drives as well and flexibly as the stock car+ oh, and noise is fantastic and adds so much character.Issues for me to resolve;? weight and its position; the supercharger looks fairly meaty and given its location I want to understand the weight issue a little. May be an easy offset with some lighter-weight components elsewhere at the front. Not a biggee though.? oil cooler; defo for me given my track addiction and Mark is working on a solution to go in the fog light position.Ok, so there are some refinements to do to the package but I was well impressed and it just felt right for the car.Decisions, decisions......................................................:32 (37):Is that Pitman I hear circling overhead with a turbo fuelled response:32 (18): -
