I had similar wear, but not quite as bad, when I bought mine in Nov17. The car was less than 3 years old and 17k miles at that point. Never seen accelerated wear like this on any other car! I haven't increased the wear since I got it, so I think using leather cleaning and protecting products do help. But I want to try to get a color match so I can order a leather repair kit from https://www.colourlock.com/ The other thing that bugs me is how the driver side car matt and the "underlay" is getting pretty worn and squished already at 28k miles. Dunno how to fix that tho 😭 Had a volvo S80 with 150k and the matts looked and felt like new, and the leather seats altho a bit dried out had no wear on them at all!

Thanks Rob, hope you're feeling better like. Messages aren't showing in Tapatalk now, but the login errors have stopped. EDIT: I can't actually post from Tapatalk now, it says I don't have permission to post. Sounds like you've got your work cut out at the min, so good luck!

How would the grey stickers look on a tinted window? I'd get them if they look pretty subtle
-
My Tapatalk isn't showing messages for this forum any more and I've had hundreds of duplicate emails too. gonna have to disable the emails for now, once I work out how lol

I'll take the fronts if you do split them

The plastic part is pushed too far to the right, it should come over that part of the shelf. The guy installing your tints probably hasn’t put it all back together properly. Try pushing the shelf down while pulling the plastic out

I’ve been having the same problem with tapatalk. I can browse fine but it says I need to login then when I do it says no account associated with my email. We had this problem last time the forum was having connectivity issues. Other forums are working fine!

They fixed mine last week too. Well i don’t wanna speak too soon but I’m pretty sure it’s gone, it feels weird driving without the knocking now 😂
-
I’ve got a slight knocking sometimes on bad roads too but it’s coming from the near side rear. Haven’t had a chance to empty the boot to eliminate stuff bouncing about in there yet tho!

I think you’re right about that! George, have you read this http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=8040 There’s more info on the Aussie forums about clutch adjustments for RHD, but will take some digging to find it. If you do go ahead with it keep us updated please!
-
I’m a year into ownership and I still don’t like the high bite point, but I’m still too paranoid about trying the clutch pedal adjustment. From what I remember the process is a lot more involved for RHD, and involves removing the pedal assembly. I think there was a post or maybe a video showing how to do it. It’s been a year tho so I could be wrong lol

Slick work Tommy - I think I’ll copy your mic idea! I bought the handbrake cable bypass mod off amazon, because you can’t just earth the green wire to bring up the full menus on my headunit and I don’t like the idea of splicing oem wiring. Check all this wiring I’ve got to work with for the Pioneer AVH-Z9100 and backup camera, there’s more loom already in the dash from the OEM Audio+ system [emoji23]

The mic in the 86 is amplified and doesn’t use a headphone type jack like most aftermarket ones. So probably not compatible. There’s some info on the forum about it. I don’t really wanna bodge the connection and blow something in my new headunit by inputting too high a volume, although I am curious!

I’ll take the vent gauge please! Does it come with everything to fit it, plus box etc? Cheers

DIY Phone holder, Head unit blanks, and USB connection

Ah right, gotcha! -
Just ordered a pair of these for some experiments...

Potentially have some interesting results if they give enough of a kick! Do you have a sub fitted? I’ve got the OEM Audio+ install, the sub is fine but I feel like there’s not enough low-mid range kick from the components. I know the doors aren’t sealed the best so they’re gonna limit performance. Keen to see how you get on! -

The wood grain looks slick, keep it! I’m digging the phone holder too. Much better than them brodit ones. Just don’t know if I can bring myself to put my phone in a case for the magnet [emoji848] -
I’ve never even tried using the head unit to control Spotify, didn’t even cross my mind! I always have Spotify open on my phone and connect via Bluetooth, and 60% of the time it’ll play from where it left off every time. But if I’ve watched a video or something before getting in the car I have to manually press play on the phone. And since the new iOS update it’ll default to Apple Music sometimes, so I’ll have to open Spotify and press play to override it. Waiting for some decent sales so I can splurge on one of the new wireless CarPlay pioneer headunits. That’ll fix the problem for sure [emoji23]

Where do you think you’ll place them? -
Welcome! I think I saw your car at RRG Salford a few weeks ago. Possibly also in Trafford college car park more recently [emoji848] I think I lasted 6 months before I ended up at Tuning Developments for the NA kit [emoji23] I wish I had got it sooner tho!

Glass much harder than paint, so doing it by hand won't do much. At the very least, you'll need a DA polisher with a glass cutting pad, and possibly a heavier cutting compound than AG screen polish. Or put a hammer thru it and call your insurance and pay £70 for a new one lol

I had the same problem this weekend - I thought it had snowed when I saw all the white spots - not quite 300 for me tho haha! G4 caused the white spots for me! I washed, glass cleaned, razor bladed, clayed, then Gtechniq G4 glass polish and that's when the white spots appeared. You're supposed to use G6 glass cleaner after using polishing with G4, but I used my own IPA solution instead - it made the spots less noticeable but still there. Think I'll have to splash out on G6 to see if it will remove those spots. I messed up the application of G5 rain repellent as well, left it on too long to buff off, so had to wipe it off with a damp microfibre... boo! Will probably do the whole process again when I get the G6 glass cleaner delivered.

Yeah you can use that app on more than one car, but you can just get a cheap app and dongle to simply read and delete fault codes. Charista let’s you fiddle with stuff like how long the interior light stays on for [emoji23]

Welcome! Sadly... It’ll never sound like a real scooby - burble or blow off. I learnt the hard way[emoji24] STIs have around 9:1 CR so have a deep burble, and 15+psi of boost so a loud dump noise. We have a 12.5:1 compression ratio so it’s raspy no matter what, and when turbo’d it’s only using 5psi of boost to hit 280hp. The tuning developments turbo kit doesn’t have a blow off valve, but you do get a bit of compressor flutter instead [emoji1786] I assumed that fitting an unequal length manifold would sound scooby-ish, but I was wrong and now I kinda wish I went equal length for the few extra hp [emoji23] The paintwork is shockingly thin but I guess you’ll be respraying when fitting body parts. I don’t think you’ll find one that hasn’t had the bumper, bonnet, front wings, and roof peppered with stone chips! Don’t let that put you off tho, the chassis is pretty awesome. Not the most practical for daily driving in the city, but I’ve managed it for a year so far [emoji23] Turbo is still on the to do list, but if you’re in Manchester have a look round my car if you like. I think from MY2015, there were some small improvements, shark fin aerial, more reliable coil packs. Pics of your RX-8?

Worth doing I think Rich, I can only imagine it’ll get worse! After the awesome track day last Friday I was hoping I had killed off my discs and pads coz they looked low when looking thru the wheel but no such luck lol The rear discs are only half worn at 17mm with over 4mm of pad depth still to go. Similar situation with the fronts. Boo! I was surprised to find that the centre part of the grove in the rear pads was clogged up already after less than a month since cleaning it out, but the groves in the front pads were still clear after cleaning them all the way back in December. Madness. Still no squealing... yet! I guess I’ll have to spend my brake money on another track day now [emoji23]
