GT86 BRZ Tuning Package from Tuning Developments
Daninplymouth replied to Mike@TD.co.uk's topic in Tuning Developments
I can’t recommend the package enough I had it done nearly 2weeks a go and haven’t stopped smiling since. Mine was a 5hour trip each way but well worth it. there is a travel lodge close by so you could stay the night before drop the car off first thing and walk back to the hotel, that’s what I did sat and watched tv for a few hours then headed back to the garage- 231 replies

I would like them to be light light. I think I have decided on the PF01 as these are about 8kg I think so lighter than stock and I like the look of these. Although I do still keep looking at the RPF1 but really not to struck on the looks with them. I am trying to find some photos in silver as the ones I have seen are black and I think this doesn’t help with making them look smaller, but these are lighter again and cheaper so trying to weigh up if that’s worth more than than the better looking to me Pf01’s 🤔

Thanks for the feedback so far. My car is white. The more I look though the more I am tempted to move to 18s I don’t know if it’s just me but a lot of the 17s seem really small in the arches on these and with the bigger tyre make it look a little lost. I went against 18s for a performance perspective but much prefer the look and if I can get a slightly lighter set would the handling be much worse? I would think it would handle sharper with the lower profiles on the 18s

It’s because I only really want to run a 225 tyre if I turbo in the future I might go up to a 235 but can’t see why I would want anything bigger on a daily driver
-
Did see these and do like them I just the wrong sizing for me
-
I like the 3rd set down on the silver car what width and offset are these? as I found a lot of the rays that I like don’t have a low offset or the width I want 8” or maybe 8.5” only really

I had this issue a week ago drivers side would only unfold half way. Then after a little tap it would go in and out but was running really slow. Toyota replaced my mirror under warranty, bit worrying though it seems to be a fairly common issue

Stock steering wheel reach extension
Daninplymouth replied to Oghero's topic in GT86/BRZ General Chat
How do you find the wheel? I think I might have to save and order one next year -
Easy way is take the 12v cap from the power socket in the glove box, then look under your pedals you will see a hole where the sound enters the cabin. The cap fits the tube fine so you can test and remove if you don’t like in less than a minute

Stock steering wheel reach extension

I’m quite interested in the jluth as I have long legs arms and often catch my knees on the wheel. Only thing is the price 😲 is there anywhere else you can get these or is it jut from America? -
Hi, just wondered if your GT86’s uses much oil? Iv not had to top mine up with any in the 9months or so iv owned it just wondered if this was the norm for this engine thanks
-
Thanks all just wanted to check it was normal and I wasn't being stupid with how I check the level
-
The other thing I think you can do is leave the original wheels in the car for mot time. I’m sure I read that the sensors just have to be near the car for the ecu to detect them and remove the light

Hi it’s starting to get cold here now and my cars are quite prone to freezing up as the temperature drops. This will be my first winter in the GT so wondered if there was anything I could do to make my life easier. I have applied some gummi pfledge to the seals. Is it ok to use cool water to help clear the windows?
-
You can have hill start on the manual. Mine has it, you have to activate it can’t remember the process now but it’s in the manual. I don’t use it as it leaves a green symbol on the dash all the time and sure mine still rolled ack when I tried it out

What to do with frozen windows?
Daninplymouth replied to Daninplymouth's topic in GT86/BRZ General Chat
I know not to use boiling or hot water I was just going to use cool. is de-icer ok to use I always thought it had chemicals that attacked the rubber seals? -

Hi, I’m drawing up a plan of mods to do to my car and wondered if anyone had any experience of the Tein 15mm springs? I’m only looking for a little drop to get rid of some arch gap, and don’t want to have to adjust the alignment much which is why I was thinking of these small drop springs. It’s my daily and don’t want to go any lower than this plus with just a slight drop I can get them fitted and hopefully the wife won’t notice 😁 Also as mine is an updated 2017 my shocks are better damped than the preface-lift? So my thinking was these should be better suited to just lowering springs, any ideas on this? thanks
-
Actually been reading up a bit more on the rce springs and I get the feeling they might be worth the extra spend. Would I be right in thinking if I wanted to upgrade my handle further in the future I could get some bilstein shocks and swap the springs over to these. I’m not fussed on full on Coilover a really as mine is a daily it would just be set at the one level and never adjusted and don’t want to go to low. has anyone tried the 15mm tein springs?

Thanks bit over my budget though I think for just springs

Did you import these from America? Or is there a Uk seller?

Wheel weight rota blitz, pro race 1.2
Daninplymouth replied to Daninplymouth's topic in GT86/BRZ General Chat
All I’ve done the last few days is look at more wheels. Have narrowed it down to my final 2 sets Enkei rpf1 17x8 like the look of these and are strong and lightweight. The other is a set of rays 57DR 18x8.5 really like these too but can’t decide between the light Enkei or the bigger and heavier rays. Will i notice much difference between these? Car is driven daily but I do like a nice hard drive at times and am planning on doing some track days next year. can you get lower profiles in wider 17s as the extra sidewall is the only thing I’m not keen on, but I think 225/45 is a popular size around here so it can’t be to bad can it? -
Hi does anyone know the weight for the rota blitz in 17x8? As I can’t find anything listed online. I think it will be these or the team dynamics which I have had on my previous cars but the only issue I have with these is I always though they were classed as a fairly light wheel. Online they say the 17x8 is from 9kg so I know it’s slightly wider than stock but isn’t that roughly the same weight and they list the 17” & 18” as the same weight. Does anyone know of any of decent 17x8 that will be lighter than stock? Not fussed on going super light and expensive would like to keep it under £1000. That’s why I picked these 2 as I’m sure the TD’s will be on a Black Friday offer somewhere i do also like the 949 6ul but I don’t know anything about these, are they strong? My car is used everyday as a daily driver planning some track days in the future thanks for any input

Nice but trying to stick to 8.5” wide max as on standard shocks . I did see your 57drs and am very tempted with them -
Wheel weight rota blitz, pro race 1.2
Daninplymouth replied to Daninplymouth's topic in GT86/BRZ General Chat
Ahhhh there is so many choices. After looking at more wheels then I care to remember I think I have changed my mind again and now think I will be going for 18s the extra sidewall on the 17s is putting me off looks wise. any ideas for 18s that are around the same weight as stock? Don’t want to spend more than 1000 ideally so not after something super light weight. Now swinging back to the pro race 1.2s
