One things for sure, when I went out in the wet I was very tentative for the first few laps after seeing this. Should be an easy repair though and she'll be back on the road in no time. I think you should take a leaf out of @GT86Jays book and get the car back better than before with a few additional mods

@mike-p great to meet you yesterday and hope the car cover is to your liking Excellent day chaps. I learned a lot and have a few things to work on at the next trackday.

Yeah the reason the Harrop stuff I posted was higher IATs was because the Harrop car is running the 60ish mm pulley which is good for about 320WHP on normal fuel (also had hks stroker kit). Epic fail on my part to spot that as I thought it was taken from their car running the stock pulley. So Dans car is representative of what you should expect. Obviously driving style, skill, speed and other things come into it, but you are looking at roughly 25-30C over ambient steady state.

Cool. I'll get something up very soon. P.s. looks like you were short shifting and possibly had extra "load" in the passenger seat

You'll be fine. Its a great circuit with fast and slow sections. What pads have you got on your car?

Snetterton 300 Here's @mike-ps? video from way back.

Weather prediction is getting better. Its down to 10% chance of a shower until 4pm.
-
I've been monitoring it. http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/public/weather/forecast/u12dmws7p#?fcTime=1461715200 Only 20% chance of rain at 2pm, then 40% at 3pm. 60% chance at 4pm though tbh I dont mind rain as it will give me the chance to feel out the AD08Rs in the wet, but my mate in his Fisher Fury is on medium compound semi slicks and doesn't have a roof

You'll be wanting to do another track day to test them out!

p.s. if you are going for drop links I strongly suggest you look at the whileline bars as the bar and droplink combo isnt much more than the droplinks on their own. You can use Dans excellent spreadsheet to set them up to give roughly the same roll stiffness as with the standard bars. Just a thought anyway. Thats what ill be doing.

excellent. I bet that was great fun too! Coram would be a cracker for a nice long drift.

It depenfs how low you drop it. With my coilovers set to their recommended height, the roll bars were in roughtly the same place as stock with the stock drop links. If you plan to lower alot however you do need to be carefull as it full compression and a decent amound of lock the roll bar can get stuck and bind. In that case you'll need to lengthen the drop links.

I was a bit like that. I was wondering if I forgot the put the drain plug back in before refilling the gearbox!
-
Its something I plan to work on at Snet. I often get too focused on chasing the car in front or keeping the one behind at bay...
-
That's interesting. I could hear my gearbox whine a little in low gears even with the stock mounts so perhaps not all boxes are the same. I think its a very subjective thing. With the stock exhaust it would be very noticeable in my car, but with my Cosworth Cat back its not that noticeable and I kinda like it now.

Great video

Ah cool. Will be good to see your cossy setup

I'll be bringing a selection of tools too so im sure between us we'll have plenty. You can chuck it in our garage. Getting close now lads. Very much looking forward to see why my setup is capable of on track.

Looks much better

The TC105Ns are lovely. Flow formed so light and strong too.

Car setup and testing – Road driving So I’ve had the AD08s fitted for a little while and I have been busy playing with settings to get the balance I am after ready for Snetterton next week. Quick overview of my static setup: Front to back 10mm positive rake Front has 62% of total roll stiffness ~1.8Hz ride frequency front and back Front 60N/mm springs -2.5⁰ camber -0.05⁰ toe 235/40/18 AD08R Rear 70N/mm spring -1.5⁰ and -2⁰ camber (RL & RR) 0.08⁰ toe 235/40/18 AD08R Tyre pressures First I tried 35psi all round which was awful. Dropped to 28psi and things massively improved and think this is a good setting. Grip levels and feel/progressiveness are very good when cold. Damper Settings Once I settled on 28psi I set the dampers to 12 clicks from full stiff all-round (this is a fast road setting). I found the car a tad loose with this setup. Although turn in was sharp and corner entry speed fantastic, I felt like I wanted to be able to get a little more power down on corner exit. To test the theory I increased the front pressure to 30psi which effectively reduces front grip. I liked this balance a lot. Next I and tried softening the rear damping to 16 clicks from full firm. The car had a fair amount of initial understeer with this setup. Great for putting power down as you ease out of the corner but corner entry was definitely compromised and the front end lacked feel. Might be a nice setup for wet track days – we’ll see. In the end I have settled on 28psi all round and 12 clicks front and 14 clicks rear for dry road use. At the track next week I’ll have more time to play with settings but this will be my starting point in terms of damper offset, probably starting with 8 clicks up front and 12 clicks at the back. I’ll probably start with tyre pressures set to 28psi cold and go from there with a target of 30psi when hot. Anyone has any advice or tips with the AD08R, it would be greatly appreciated, as I haven’t used these on track before.
