Those Focals are deffo on my list along with an android headunit.

Fair enough. Thats probably about the same as my car with the cat back ~250WHP How long were your sessions at Beford? Thing about the above run is if it was only after a few dyno pulls your IATs might be quite low. Increasing IATs lower knock limit so timing has to be adjusted and air density is lower so you lose some power. Air density is 1.25kg/m3 @ 10C Air density is 1.15kg/m3 @ 35C That's an 8% drop in air density for a 25C rise. So 250Whp becomes 230WHP, but its worse in reality as you lose knock limit as well. The Harrop dyno run posted with ~250whp had 33C IATS....... Edit* anyone that actually knows what they are talking about feel free is correct me. I am often wrong.

Nice review. Yes They didn't add much in the way of sound deadening to the car, I guess to keep weight down, but it doesn't help road noise. I hope they improve the fit and finish for the new model as its one of my pet hates with this car all the rattles. Good to hear you likes how it drives.

Nope. Its all about how much it goes up over ambient. But for sake of comparison, When cosworth were doing testing in 28C ambient in spain, IATs were ~45C Harrop heat exchangers: Cosworth:

That was directly from the Harrop vendor themselves on the FT86club. They even asked the engineers if they could release the data. http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=78648&page=15 You had 59C iirc in 10C ambient at Bedford so that is +49C and the harrop is about 10whp more? Were your temperatures at equilibrium at Bedford? as in were they still going up or had they stabilized before you came in?

haha love it. Wish I had more weekends free to join the fun.

Not trying to piss on anyone's purchase here. Its easy to come across as such on the forums, but that not my intention. They all have their pro's and Con's. Cosworth being expensive for one but it's definitely got more in the bag if you want to be able to break your transmission or rear axels.

Nope. Plenty of datalogs stateside from all three kits. Harrop have just released some data. They were running ~70C IAT in 28C ambient. Edlebrock was running 56C in 21C ambient Mine was about 26C is 10C ambient at Bedford.

The Cosworth is capable of 380hp which is enough to break the gearbox. Sure the blower is a little smaller, but the heat exchangers are much bigger. I would argue both the Edlebrock and Harrop do not have big enough cooling for any more power than stock. +30C for the Edlebrock and +40C for the Harrop over ambient when hooning around the track is already going to lose you some power.

Both the Harrop, Edlebrock and Cosworth are about +80hp. Why do you think there isn't more power to come from the Cosworth?

Thats surprising given how rich these cars run. Well if you are correct about 0.5 richer, those afr values look very similar to mine taken from ecutek logs. I guess it shouldn't be surprising since they are both Cosworth Matt Calibrations. So do tuners use the measured afr from the exhaust on the dyno to fine tune the target afr values or is it not that critical?
-
ah I didnt see your previous post. Fair enough. I didnt realise the lambda was that bad. Yes im talking about ecutek logs.
-
AFRs still look a tad leaner than mine which are at about ~11.8-12 through the rev band > 4krpm

Here another rather more subjective review of the AD08R

Never tried the Yoko 105s. Ive just put full set of Conti sport5s on my Merc. Maybe i should have tried the Yokos. The new conti sport contact 6 just beat the pilot super sport on wet and dry but sadle only on big rims at the moment. Developed for the nee civic type R which is the fastest FWD car round nurburgring.
-
Are you planning to sprint with the contis? I reckon they'd be decent come rain or shine
-
Did you do corner weight setup? Always liked the rota titans.

That good enough. We can still gang up. I'd like to see your installation in the flesh.

If I didn't give up PC gaming a few years back and stick to consoles, then I wouldn't have Ohlins on my car right now. I only enjoy PC gaming when I have a monster PC that you can just max everything out and get >30fps.

It all depends on how you drive. I'm quite heavy on the brakes I think as I can fade most pads in 20minutes. Only pads I haven't been able to are the Club Racers. if Rich was okay on stock pads, then the Street Master will be more than enough and should offer nicer pedal feel.
-
@mike-p @GT86Jay You guy tempted to join us? Would be good to have another Cosworth so we can gang up on the Harrop
-
How did the stock brakes fair you at Bedford? p.s. I have a spare set of OEM pads in my tool box, so if you did knacker them, fear not you can have mine - and I can help fitting them if you arnt confident.
