  1. It'd be really good to get some power graphs up so I think you'll sell a lot of these to N/A customers it they can be shown to make healthy gains Also a good ceramic coating option might be nice and a catted option?

    Red Wheel Nuts

The TPI nuts are decent for a reasonable price. The main thing is having them forged for strength but also a thick anodized layer for chip resistance. These have 3 layer of hard anodizing: http://www.demon-tweeks.co.uk/Product.do?method=view&n=1288&g=272493&p=272661&d=124&c=4&l=2&utm_source=Google&utm_medium=Base&utm_campaign=Wheel%20Nuts%20&%20Bolts&gclid=Cj0KEQjw2sO3BRD49-zdzfb8iLwBEiQAFZgZfJak8ok5fZXeBtS3un4Jf0GEePkkBLuLdsn58_n5gpAaAgnf8P8HAQ If you want 4 locking nuts in the kit, price goes up to about £80

    Red Wheel Nuts

Top quality forged aluminium wheel nuts are fine but also cost quite a bit. If your not happy spending £50 plus on forged aluminium wheel nuts then steel is the best option.

    Snetterton Trackday April 27th

Well yes, i'm not saying I haven't seen cars go of track or spin out, but i have yet to see an accident were two cars collide or someone hit a barrier hard enough to do some real damage. TBH I think the most action I saw was at Oulton Park last year. One chap was about a foot from hitting the barrier and another went in the gravel trap and a few had spinouts. Rowdy lot the GT86 and BRZ club

    Snetterton Trackday April 27th

Accidents are rare at track days to be honest. I've yet to see a smash up. Just take it easy and let by anyone approaching rapidly. The key is to not let anyone try to do something silly to overtake you by letting them past right away.

    Ade's Road and Track Toy

Thanks. I got them over here for about £1100 in the end all in. I picked them up directly from STS imports. These are cheap because they are a little known company, but these are semi forged flow formed which makes them light (8.4kg for a 18x9 wheel) but also strong with a load rating of 720kg which is more than many high quality, much more expensive branded wheels. Snetterton on the 27th April? I waited ages. Order them from Trackwerks in Canada, early December and they were delivered to Florida mid December. I missed the December shipment by 2 days so I had to wait till the 15th Feb for them to be shipped and they arrived at STS in Chelmsford on friday 18th March. Typically they ship a container every 6 weeks but the xmas period extended that by a week or so. If you are lucky and order an item and it arrive right before they pack the container, then you might only be waiting 4 weeks. Was quoted $750 to ship them to the UK so would have cost about £1550 all in.

  14. For anyone that wants to import good from the USA, I highly recommend STS imports. For those of you that don't know, when you import goods to the UK from North America, you pay 3-5% import duty on Automotive items and the further 20% VAT on the top of that. Here is an example shipped via courier: A nice set of wheels might cost ~$1200, but shipping is $600 on top of that. Bringing to the total to $1800 or about £1200. When they arrive in the UK they have 4.5% duty => £54 and VAT (20%) => £240 and also a fee for bringing them through customs. Bring the total to about £1500 Here is the same example shipped via STS Imports: Now the way STS imports work is you have the goods sent to their warehouse in Florida and they get put on their next container (usually one every 6 weeks) and delivered to their UK warehouse in Chelmsford Essex about 3 weeks later. From there you can either pick the goods up or arrange for STS to send them on to your address of choice. STS imports charges vary depending on the item, but for a set of wheels it cost me £100 + VAT and import duty. So going back to the example of the $1200 wheels. You can get them shipped at a low cost inside the USA usually for something like $50 to their Florida address. So about £850 You then wait for them to arrive and RON will bill you. In the case above it would be £100 for the service + import (£38) + VAT (£170) + shipping within the UK (£50). So the total cost would be £258 Bring the total cost getting the wheels here using STS imports as £850 + £258 = ~ £1100 That a massive £400 saving if you don't mind waiting. I used STS imports to bring over some wheels from Canada as I couldn't find a distributor in the UK for them. Ron, owner of STS, tells me that the massive savings come from importing large heavy and/or bulky items. I got their details from a friend who imports a lot of stuff for his Ford Mustang which includes, wheels, exhausts, suspension and body parts. If anyone is interested in using STS Imports, you can find there info on their main website: http://www.stsimports.co.uk/containers.html Just pop ron@stsimports.co.uk an email before you buy to discuss your needs. Thanks for reading

I'm in the same boat. Tried auto blip, hated it. Much better to heel toe even if you over or under rev a bit, its just more satisfying

those lights are amazing! and good choice on the bbk. I've got a cossy kit being refurbed... should be any day now.
  17. Cheers Jay that more the sort of info I was after. I'll try to avoid the temptation to put my foot down when I see a chav cross the road. I find it mildly annoying not having steering wheel controls, but I think i'd find it very annoying having them.
  18. Yes I know alot of people have speculated about factory approval but all I think they wanted was to be able to offer an engine warrenty without Toyota blaming every warrently clain on the sc kit. For example if the alternator packs up who will pay for it Cosowrth or Toyota? Toyota might argue the new belt drive mechanism is what caused the failure. I suspect this would make it difficult to offer a warranty. As others have said the mountune stuff is quite mild. Usually upping boost and improving exhaust and intercoolers. An sc kit that adds +50% is a whole other ball park. Id have thought they'd have made it happen in another country if that was their intension.
  19. I know there's alot of speculation going round but I wondered if Lauren had spoken to a Cosworth official or something. The CS400 was a whole different beast as it was a limited run of cars built by Cosworth technicians. at the Cosowrth factory in Northampton
  20. I was referring to the bit about Cosworth trying to get factory approval of their stage 2 kit.
  21. Lauren where and from who did you hear that?

    Snetterton Trackday April 27th

Yes you do. Being sensible would be taking advantage of the early booking rate of £139 [emoji13]
  23. Agreed, its all "horses for courses", I spent a lot of time playing about with my various spreadsheets before deciding that the 4.67 would be fine for how I use my car, but its definitely not a "no brainer" mod for everyone. The two graphs are based on Abbey dyno plots for the Harrop and Cosworth with different final drive combos. Mine will be about 10hp down on the full 2.3. Depending how good my engine is I could be similar to the Harrop. Cosworth has two engines which were 10hp different on their engine dyno.
  24. It may well be on an FI car. If you have load of torque you'd likely be able to use it better with something like a 3.9. That's why I think anything over a ~4.56 on a manual FI car will just be too much. Autos tend to favour a shorter FD for obvious reasons. On a dry day I struggle to wheel spin in second, so with grippy tyres I cant see how you wouldn't benefit. sure with 350whp it a different beast. its only 14% more torque after all. Proof will be in the pudding at snet when Dan drives past me down bentley.
  25. That would be perfect as if I go for AD08R I might be cornering a bit faster or slower depending if it rains or shines I can use torque with a high sampling rate, but its not great as the Chinese knock off scan tool isnt that fast.
