Best upgrade ive made on mine. Better than the cossy SC, better than the AP racing brakes. They are literally gold. To anyone interested these have a huge adjustment range of damping. Roughly 300% on the low/medium speed damping. What this means is at -20clicks full soft they are not over damped on those soft spring rates, but crank them to -5clicks and they are about 50% of critical damping on 8kg springs. So you have the option of fitting 8-9kg springs with some solid topmounts like raceeng and this would be a proper trackday setup suited to a good semi slick like the Dunlop DZ03s.

Dan you could always run 10mm spacers. The TMG cars do! One thing to note is brake steer is quite noticeable with increased scrub. Caught me by surprise when I first fitted them. Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk

Basically if you want an accurate EGT reading you have to measure it with a therocouple right at the cat inlet.
-
Corrected that for you or twin charge like the original Gazoo

Thing is most of the US states dont have mandatory emissions testing. So all they need to do is look like a cat and pass roadside inspection. Passing an MOT in the uk is a different kettle of fish. You need a decent CAT and most of the aftermarket cheap metallic high flow cats wont pass mot on their own.
-
So you have decat FP and still passed MOT? EGT should not kill a decent cat from being supercharged if it tuned properly.
-
OK ta, I guess the JDL job being only an additional $150 for the cat wasn't the bargain it appeared... $150 for a cat. No wonder it shit itself. Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk

H&S certainly would be able to replace it with a bit of pipe and flange, or alternatively they could weld in a new cat. They use high quality german made cats that cost about £400 though so that + welding/labour you are probably taking £600, but worth asking. Having the cat in the manifold means it lights up quicker and easier to pass MOT. the H&S item is only 100 cel but its enough when hot. You get what you pay for.

Sound to me like the JDL part was defective then.

The O2 has a heater element which can be used in reverse. I.e put the constant current though it and measure voltage and plot on a curve. The ECU does this to calculate EGT at that point. It isnt very accurate as the 02 heater resistance varies a lot so it can be out by 20% but a nice little feature. Im not sure which one it is either by @knightryder might be able to tell us? Hopefully its the "wide band" at the front before the cat.

EGT is very tune dependant. A tune that creates high EGT even N/A can make the cat shit itself. Rich there isnt a egt sensor but you can use the O2 heater in reverse to measure temp but its too far away. Ive got the original H&S Cosowrth dev manifold. It has individual sensor taps on each primary where they measured egt accurately using thermocouples to make sure they were kept in check. So if lee was running the cosworth tunes I doubt egt should be an issue. I suspect its a mixture of a poor quality cat and possibly the vvti issue causing high egt? Ive done 8 trackdays supercharged with each session being a good 20-30mins. Plus cat driver training and 7k road and my cat hasnt shit itself yet (just passed mot). Id recommend a piston spreader as some have had a hard time pushing the pistons back in. Personally I use a big screwdriver.

Its not really a balance when they are whats required not to get fade! Omg I still remember the god awful squeal too 🤤 Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk

I couldn't get a friction profile out of PFC for these but after talking to Dan I decided to try the z rated on my bbk. I also went though pads like crazy on stock setup, destroyed a set of ds2500 in one day. Its all about clubracers isnt it tashan [emoji6] Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk

for £40 its probably not worth the bother then!

No idea, I just know I tried it and didnt think it was a good idea

I used to use my heel to blip the throttle, now I do it this way most of the time. Both have pros and cons and I switch by accident sometimes One thing I could never do is use my heel on the brake and toe on the throttle. My feel are too big in this car and I lose brake control which I consider more important than a quick throttle blip.
