Yes it does. Making a claim you will lose road no claims. At £45 for trackday cover its not a bad risk. Id only use it if I did some serious damage.

    Cusco Engine Oil Cooler

Its a fair bit cheaper than my Mocal one was IIRC cost me getting on for £700. I guess getting he forester verson is probably cheaper? Mine works well though, I have never seen oil go above 110C peak. Id probably recommend the smaller mocal laminova instead to make fitment easier.

@Rich you were interested in my setup but perhaps this is enough? Essentially a copy of the forester oil to water cooler.

Just a warning if you plan to do any trackdays.... Your Foliatec caliper paint may look like this after a trackday or two...

So do Mclaren. Instead they used hydraulic roll bars to control roll stiffness in fractions of a second, while springing the car nice and lightly for good road manners.

I'll likely get massively flamed for saying this but I dont think the active part of the EDFC is worth it anyway. They are only bog standard stepper motors that have a very slow response time . As you turn into a corner the weight transfer will already have happened by the time it firms up the damping.

No joke my insurance dropped with Adrian Flux when I phoned up to add the SC. The lady on the phone even double checked with her manager.

Nope you just fit and enjoy. I'm on stock clutch and ive done 7k road and something like 7 or 8 trackdays with this kit Stock brakes are fine of the road and depending on how hard you are a set of performance pads will be okay on track just wear faster. Works fine with stock exhaust as well you'll just be a bit down on power. Graph below is stock exhaust vs full nameless/Cosworth exhaust

I suspect this manifold was not loud enough for Jev either. Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk
  11. Will do chap. If it works, it shouldn't make any difference as I dont get oil surge currently with AD08Rs... but those used BTCC slicks might
  12. The Bluemoon and Cusco look like the same in design to me - one being vastly more expensive! I'd say the cosworth baffle is far superior with the vertical scrapers stopping oil sloshing around above the plate and also both those designs dont have trap doors near the edge so oil can get stuck at the sides above the plate during cornering. Not to mention the cosworth has 10 trap doors vs 6 in the others. At £150 its a bit of a surprise if part box can get any more in! I'm quite careful with oil mods but I did have the moroso junk baffle fitted and it caused oil starvation due to poor design. Thankfully I picked it up on my pressure gauge on the way back from fensport and alarm bells were ringing. If it didnt have that pressure gauge it'd be a case of "knock knock, who's there, big end shells!"
  13. It does look better than other designes. Has the rubber trap doors and also the stand up baffles to help guide flow as well as stop oil sloshing about and being sucked up the bearthers. Its was actually designed and fitted to the cosworth dev car two years ago. Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk
  14. Just wanted to say cheers to @Lucas@PartBox for sorting me out with new discs, pads, bolts and a cosworth Sump Baffle. Great service, even sent me picture of the parts before I ordered.

    Goodbye...

I'd liek to know more and the H&S mani - can you PM me for details?
  16. ah well if you've stripped and rebuilt an engine (and it still worked ) then this will be a doddle for you. I'm happy to help if you get stuck or want clarification on the instructions too. Matt@Cosworth (can get hold of him on the other side) is also happy to help and usually responds very quickly even out of office hours.
  17. Yes it is if you are handy with a spanner. Its something you have to judge though as people have told me they are handy with a spanner and have trouble changing their brake pads I did mine over about 4-5 sessions which were about 4 hours each but I took the time to clean the green gunk off as well as making all the wiring and piping super tidy and doubling up on insulation where there was a 0.01% risk of something rubbing.

Reducing engine oil temperatures on track

Thanks for the mentions. You arent the 1st person I have warned about the clearance issue with the Mocal sandwich plate. I ended up filing down the bolt to get clearance to the GDI line where it was rubbing. On the airbox I put a bit of foam but it quickly wore though as the mocal plate can move about and it rotated the lines back against the airbox. Your oil temp numbers are higher than Mine (before I changed it out to the Mocal Laminova) which is measured post cooler. I measured around 80-85C when cursing at a constant 70mph, in reality its a bit higher as who does that in these cars? . Never saw more than 110C on track either. It was a rather large radiator though. Whats the spec of your radiator and what temp is the Tstat in the sandwich plate?

    Hello from Bristol Hi

Hi @Cerec1 - Yes I have a cosworth SC'd car. I'm over in Cambridgeshire though so a bit far perhaps but welcome to pop over for a test drive if you are passing through. If you can get a ride in a harrop, Sprintex or Edlebrock (are there any in the UK?) supercharged car the power delivery is very similar to the Cosworth. Sprintex loses a bit more at the top end but that is about it.

    Forced induction owners

Rob cosworth sc makes around 260 at hubs on abbey dyno so thats about the max safe level. Torque (force) and motion (rpm) is what makes power. Hp = (rpm*tq)/5252 You cant have torque without power but yes if you restrict low end torque the increasing rotational interia as revs rise reduces the stress on the rods a bit but its not a massive factor. Rods are a lottery becuase the casting flashing is not well defined or controlled and the material is sensitive to that in terms of the strength of the structure (notch sensitivity). This explains why some cars seem to be able to handle 320hp forever and not break. I know at least a couple people that blew a rod with an opened up restrictor on the hks very quickly at about 320hp. Its a lottery. Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk

Also, apparently they have built the engine for the new TVR. Still, the high boost set up has been running in their development car for a long time.... maybe there's just nobody driving it! The tvr engine is a modified ford v8 used in the mustang. Its still in development. They have to devise a pulley system. Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk
