Yep, I'm still up for this.

Keep us up-to-date with the repair Rich

A few pictures from yesterday
-
After my off at Snetterton last June.
-
Glad you got home OK Rich, I really felt for you having an almost identical accident to the one I had last June, albeit more on the near side front.
-
It's an easy circuit to learn with lots of run-off, just take it easy for the first few sessions and your confidence will build.
-
I'll be over mid-afternoon, my start date for the new contract has gone back 2 weeks.
-
I took the Cossie to a Pistonheads RR day at Clive Atthowe's in Norwich this morning, having just collected it from the bodyshop yesterday. It made 281.5bhp, which is almost exactly what Cosworth reckon a Stage 2.3 car should do. Most pleased.

Thanks Rob, quick work!
-
I set up a recurring payment when prompted on the renewal of my Premium membership. My Paypal account was debited twice in a week. Can you sort this out please Rob?
-
But the car now feels better on the road, smoother, pickup more eager, it only goes to show that RR figures don't give the whole picture.

Here are the details from yesterday's run (Run 5) compared with the figures from a year ago (Run 2). The engine is down on torque at the low end but up on bhp at the top end. GT86_Cosworth_RR.pdf

Rich, I'm running Streetmasters at the front on my Cossie, they work really well.
-
I'll come over to say hello, but my first Trackday of the year is booked at Cadwell on 3rd May.

Bad hair day...... No sorry don't understand ;-)

This could be interesting as it addresses the hardtop/softop issue quite nicely http://www.theverge.com/2016/3/22/11287786/mazda-miata-rx5-rf-announced-new-york-auto-show-2016

It's local-ish to me so I'll probably be there.
-
At the moment I don't know what's happening next week, let alone late April! if I'm not working, I'll try to come along.
-
Snetterton would be good for me too, Jay and I haven't had the chance to back to back our cars yet, adding another Cossie would make it most interesting!
-
Too true. I'll make her pay the additional premium.

After rebuilding the front of the car last year after the off at Snetterton, with most pleasing results, my wife reverses into the front of the car this morning at the same point the damage occurred. A day before our 42 wedding anniversary. I haven't bought her card yet, doubt I'll go out now to get one..... Anyone want a slightly dented GT86 Cosworth? And a 60 year old newly divorced wife?
-
Oh yes indeedy! I got her to phone the claim in to Direct Line and get their 3rd party team to deal with my repair. It will still cost £350 for the excess, but at least both cars will be fixed.
-
She's damaged the new front bumper, fog light assembly and it looks like the headlight is dinged too. £3,000 job straight off.
-
I've seen about 3-4mpg difference in normal driving, I now get mid 30s instead of high 30s previously.

Merry Christmas Richard!
