    Interesting article.

    Watches in the GT86

It's a nice watch, I was looking at a Chronometer Avenger with a Yellow face some time back, but I went for a SuperOcean Heritage instead. I have a Christopher Ward Makira Elite with yellow hands on a black dial which looks really good.

Steve, I read the article about an old M3 tested against your GT86. It mentions Fensport and briefly covers tuning options at a very high level. I wasn't sure of the point of the article as it seemed such a mismatch, but hey, you're famous!
  6. I have a track set and winter set for the 86 and a winter set for my Yeti, these are in addition to the standard sets, so 5 sets in all. The three sets not on the cars are stored in a bike store by the garage, which keeps them dry and safe. I switch to winter tyres in November and back to summer tyres in March, the track tyres go on every time there is a trackday or TSS, so the storage gets a lot of use.

    Need some body parts

Thanks Alec, the front of the car is stripped ready, the panels are in for spraying, hopefully back by Friday. I'm aiming to have the car ready for the Pistonheads outing to Helmingham Hall on the 2nd August, which then gives me 2 weeks to check alignment etc. before Croft.

    Need some body parts

After a minor off at Snetterton today which has resulted in some non-polishable damage, I need a new front panel an offside wing and the sacrificial aluminium bar behind the front panel. Does anyone know of a good Trade parts supplier?

The wing is £88 + vat, which I thought was acceptable. I've just dropped the bumper and wing off at the bodyshop, all being well I'll have them back in time for the weekend.

    Need some body parts

The bumper, crash bar and wing were surpringly cheap (ish). The headlight was £744!!!!! Fortunately those great guys at Jap Performance Parts had one, which arrives on Monday (thanks Saj and Jas). Considering that the excess on Trackday insurance is normally £2,500+, I don't expect to pay half of that to get Cossie back on the road. Anyone have details on how to strip the front of a GT86?

EBC brake pads - red or yellow?

I've not experienced any using Stop Tech discs.

    Dash Cam

That's the DrivePro 220, I've turned lane avoidance, speed and collision warning off, the constant different dings drive you nuts.

    Dash Cam

    I use a DrivePro 220 in the 86 and a 200 in he Yeti, they're good cameras.

    Magazine Feature

I'd not even consider either of those magazines, do they rank below below Auto Express? (which is total shite) IMHO A quality car magazine is Car (obvious really). I read a whole range via the Readly app, so I get to see the very good and quite bad, Banzai and Chav Car don't appear in its lists. However, most 'quality' magazines have no real interest in the tuning market, so if Banzai is the best one that focuses on tuned Japanese cars, that's the one you should go for.

    Brake pad options

    I did indeed!
  23. You'll love it, trust me I know!
  24. The fact that the system looks OEM when installed has a lot to do with it, which will be useful when I decide to move the car on when I'm in my dotage (no I'm not in my dotage yet). And as you say the extensive testing and research, along with the capability of the s/c being way beyond what it is producing at the moment.
  25. It's somewhat more than mine, but I avoided the Nameless exhaust and went for the Avo system instead. But once the Tein Streetflex, EDFC and SuperPro bushes were fitted, it did come to an 'interesting' amount. But hey, it was worth it!
